Probably watched this VHS 100 times when I was learning. Great stuff but I would advice against using the pinky anchor since it's only after all these years my shredding got any real clean speed after closing my picking hand. I watched a Bernth video and it pretty much changed over night. John and some others manages to play with an open hand but if you struggle with your picking hand, try closing your hand.
