@@user-fx7zc7iv3b The fact that his work is being shown, quite regularly, is testimony that he is being remembered. Observational comedy is one of my favorites. Unfortinately, to many people, if performers aren't seen on TV, they are soon forgetten about. I am glad YT is keeping them available.
It's because he had a very niche comedy style. A lot of yelling and 90% of his jokes were about food. He was very good at what he did but he only did the one thing (for the most part)
It's so great that the internet allows legends like Pinette give a glimpse of their routine to people long after they themselves are gone. He is such a great person.
I only just discovered his material a few months ago, and he's absolutely incredible. It's a shame that I couldn't have been old enough to have gone and seen him when he was alive (I'm only 19 so he died when I was 10)
I truly wish I had heard of John while he was still alive. In addition to being a comedy genius he also had humanitarian values. "I'm standing up for all of us." When I watch these old videos I am torn between laughing hysterically and crying desperately. He could have helped us get through the chaotic terror we are experiencing now. The two we still have are Jim Gaffigan and Stephen Colbert. We'd better appreciate them while they are still amongst us.
@@SleeplessZombie You act like I chose "is" instead of "was" by accident. I'm not saying he "is a person" like he were actually walking and breathing right now. I'm saying he "is such a great person" whenever I watch his videos, because he IS affecting me in the present tense. To me he still IS a great person whenever I watch his videos, because in his videos he was still alive. Too bad that for you he only "was" a great person and doesn't seem like a great person to you anymore just because he's dead. One's legacy can turn the person immortal you know.
"Oh my gosh, I can't believe you're finally here! Welcome to Heaven, sir! Everybody, it's John Pi-" "Yeah, yeah, whatever. Where's the torpedo shrimp?"
I was hoping when he dragged the salesman back in the store he'd tell someone, "Your salesman is broken, he's been here 7 years, does he have an extended warranty?" Miss him greatly! 😥
@Goodest Cat That's a good line ! Would have been another way to end that story, I'm sure he is happy people are still thinking of him! Heck he probably heard you, laughed and thought the same thing, he said ,"yep, that was a good line"
Man, we need a comedian like this to come back. Comedy has just taken a turn to dark humor and politics. Honestly, sometimes I’m watching comedy and it feels like the presidential debate. Miss ya Pinette, hope you are enjoying the glorious buffet up there 😢
This sounds like a you issue and maybe you should find different comics to watch lol cause I watch tons of stand up and that's not my perspective at all
The consequence of living in a harsh political climate. Right now, at least in America, the youth who mostly determine what succeeds, is consumed by a lot of pent up anger and sadness. And it isn’t just youth, a lot of adults are sick of years of their government overlooking many political and societal problems. Until things like that get fixed, I doubt we’ll see another comedian like Pinette. I’m not saying I don’t want someone like him to come back, but I have my doubts they will anytime soon.
Yeah, we need comedians who will make us laugh about things that are funny instead of laughing about things that are so horrifying we need to laugh to avoid committing acts of violence. There's nothing funny about children being massacred in a school shooting. But there's plenty of comedy about gun owners, gun control, arming teachers, arming students and so on. Laugh or scream. Pinette was a gift to the world of comedy. He'd probably have a really great joke about being the biggest gift at the party, but I'm no comedian so I won't try. Pinette left the party too early. A lot of comedians that do dark humor seem to become angrier and angrier as they grow older until they just aren't funny anymore. I don't think that would have happened to Pinette, but unfortunately we'll never know. For what it's worth, I think it's silly to attack someone for expressing an opinion about something as subjective as what makes good comedy. We can disagree without resorting to insults.
When fate makes you "big" like John, you can either cry or laugh. John chose to laugh, and we thank him, because there's a little of his pain, in ALL of us, that made us laugh -- WITH -- him. He had a beautiful soul. RIP.
A great story teller,a man with passion, gives the audience the full package, the story, the volume, the facial expressions the love for his career... Sadly missed but because of technology we can still enjoy his shows...
2 days ago, I watched an old woman send back her Starbucks order because she hadn’t known that a “tall” was a small. She didn’t want a little coffee. So she had them remake her order while she sat at the window. The line was wrapped around the entire building. I started shouting at her in my head “get outta the line!” 😂
I adored John Pinette! Saw him in person three times and my face hurt from laughing. You sweet soul, RIP. You were taken home far too soon. Keep em in stitches up there! We miss you!!
He is really good and very energetic in all his shows, still sad that his not here anymore. He can sing can imitate actors very interesting and intelligence is all over his stand up.
I remember watching him on some show or special waaaay back in the early 90s. I was laughing so hard my mother came in to see what was wrong, and within a few seconds she was laughing even harder. Took me over 15 years to ever see anything by him again, (I almost thought I imagined his Chinese Buffet routine) and I find out he's already gone.
I had never heard of John until I saw one of his routines on U tube thevothet day.He was hilarious. It is sad that he has left us.He was one of the best comedians out there. R.I.P. John.
One of my favourite comics....gone way too soon........I listen to comics today and there are few who can make me laugh like the late, great John Pinette.....
I miss John. He was one the most hilarious comedians I have ever seen. Every one his acts left me in tears of laughter. Now there are just tears knowing that he is no longer here.
I know the Angels love him. They must laugh most of the time. I will always love him. Number one . I could watch his shows over and over. He was such a funny man
I saw JP live. Absolutely the funniest person I've ever seen. I've seen a number of very big name comics. Many were pretty good. This performance by JP had the entire theater laughing hysterically for 2 hours, non stop. Best ever.
I was once in a Sears to ask about sharpening my used lawn mower blade. "How much will that be?" "$18." I then looked at a bin full of new lawn mower blades, same size and type of blade I had: $8.50.
Same thing happened to me when I went to buy a new lock at the hardware store, the guy said "oh we can just pull the lock apart" which I had with me "and re-cut a new key" The price of a brand new lock which came with two keys was less than the price of getting a single new key cut for the lock I had
@@jetnut89 Nah, pretty normal to do, especially on push mowers and lawn tractors. Maybe some blades are one use only, but all the small motor stuff me and my father have worked on, when a blade was dull or causing the tractor to shake a little bit, we'd take it to a local shop and get it sharpened for $8 a pop and the mower would be good as new
That is really sad. I have been a fan of his for years and was very sorry when he died. I was a bit surprised at how ill he looks in this performance, though. I never noticed this as much in other performances I've seen.
He goes around 3 cuss per hour. Increases to 5 - 7 if you count ass to it. Compared to some more mainstream comedians, who curse so much it has no number.
I was feeling sorta cocky the last time I went to Home Depot. I got my items and went to check out. "May I have your phone number please ?" the man asked. I replied..."Sir, I"m not that kind of woman". Poor guy...he just stood there, dumbfounded. It was silly of me I know...but I always have a little fun wherever I go. On a flight one time, as we were entering the plane...the young man asked me "Is this for business or pleasure ?" I very calmly looked at him and said "Well, I don't know yet...what do you have in mind " We had a blast on that plane. Life is short...leave a few smiles along the way.
Both very inventive. But MY RESPECT goes to J. P. who never had to resort to profanity to get cheap laughs. Carlin lost his sense of sillyness as he aged.
I just found John on RU-vid and he is gone. Funny I was telling everyone I knew how funny he is and now I find out he is no longer with us. Thank God I can still see him on RU-vid. He was great. Yes RIP John you are still making me laugh.
Auto dealer just told me that I need an extended warranty; in case the manufacturer's warranty expires and the car breaks down. Maybe I should have beaten the hell out of him.
Yep at the point I just get up and walk out! Extended warranties are like a clear coat, undercoating, and fabric protectant worthless stuff that you pay hundreds of dollars for! I use to work at a dealership and they had a girl that did nothing but sell clear coat and fabric protectant! She was making a 250K year doing it! This was back in the 1980's!
However he's talking about the stone chip shit underbody protection which is good depending on the area type of vehicle & or use. But most of them are rubbish and unlikely to be a wise idea. Along with poor application are likely to cause more harm than good.
So let me fully understand the reason for getting an extended warranty-the product is no good although it is new, engineered, and has a track record of some sort. If I buy it, and when it breaks (after the limited warranty expires), I can have it repaired or replace. Replacing it means getting another one that will fail. He should have added that no salespersons life was lost prior to the making of this video.
theothertroll so do you just enjoy being mean? He was a big catholic he's probably resting in peace, I hope he is he was funny and as far as I've heard a nice guy.
The devil would kick him out after 4 years at the all-you-can-eat brimstone buffet. "What do you mean you get used to the taste! That was a millenium's supply! That's it, next time it's arugula!"
Many years ago,I saw this INCREDIBLE Comedian at a Comedy Club in Las Vegas...He was just beginning his career and even then,I KNEW he was going to be HUGE! (No insult intended..He'd Laugh at that!)--After that,he started getting on the TV show circuit and made his name..Sadly,he's no longer with us...Fortunately,we have RU-vid and the Internet to watch his comedy..I laugh out loud when I watch any of his routines..THANK YOU & GOD BLESS YOU,John===Mitch
I saw John every time he came to my town. After the show, John would come out to the bar and just hang out with people. He was such a nice guy, very upbeat & personable. I brought his DVD with me and he gladly autographed it for me.
Never pay more than $30 for a surge protector. Also, make sure that the surge protector comes with insurance so if your stuff gets fried they pay for a replacement.
Did John know how much people loved him when he was here? I hope he knew. I hope he knows now. Time here is short for all of us. If you love someone, tell them everyday.
So sad he's gone. Such a funny man. Whenever I need to laugh, I look up his videos. Saw him at Zany' s once and I laughed from the start of his show till the end! Wish he was still here. Such a special man and my favorite comedian of all time!
I just busted a gut watching/listening to John. He got soooo much better, perhaps more confident, with age; even though he was funny from the start. RIP
Saw this on tv the other night. The next week we bought a new microwave and it wouldn't work properly so I turned to my mom and said "Should have bought the extended warranty." we laughed thinking about this awesome man. He will be missed in our house and the world.
I heard about him on a dvd from another grt comedian advertisjmg to buy his and I wtd to so badly to see an entire show when it hit me, i could see him here only to find out he died last yr @ only 50 yrs old. Just found out a few days ago. So sad. Would have loved to see him in person.RIP friend.
I can relate so hard! When I got my first car, the people at the dealership were getting pissed off because I actually read every page they gave me to sign. They actually said "Look, we summarized what the gist of it is. Just sign so we can get this done quicker." I wasn't about to buy into that shit!
