He is so cool. The ice shack was great and that can crusher is ingenious! They have some long cold winters. The first time I saw the Ice shack way of life was on "Grumpy Old Men". Back then I thought that would be so fun to do.
love these creative guys. I have met many in my lifetime living in Northern Wi. I am a machinist and the old guys like this are creative and independent, not may left in our throw away society.. I am going to remake my shack into something likes Joe has so I can move to find the fish and not have to drill so many holes all the lake. Great idea. If you see my shack on Lake Alice in Tomahawk Wi I will give Joe the credit he is due..
Truly. I just hate it when my whole left side sink counter stacks up with empties and it takes me several minutes to crush them. I know I know. I 'could' crush them as I drink them but then I could not drink at all. Equally likely to happen.
Apparently I have been ice fishing all wrong. Here's to you Joe! What a treat it would have been to sit and chat with this gentleman and catch a few fish on hard water.
What a wonderful guy. God bless him and his ideas. My Mom used to make pickled northern too. Great snack. This motorized ice hut would be a hot seller around the lake areas. Thanks for the vid
2coolhipdude Oh, idiot haters who feel they need to preach their beliefs because everyone else is supposed to care.. Gotcha.. Oh well, tonights smelt feed was delicious!!
Donna Podnar Cool! Glad to hear it's being preserved in the family. What a great uncle to have. (I see I wasn't the only one commenting on the video's title. Maybe a more appropriate title would be "John's Uncle Joe's Ice Shack"...?) :-) Thanks!
My father's "Pickled Pike" recipe is/was much better than this guys tasty dream but I have no match to his motorized ice shanty... Whatta true blue ice fisherman...
