Lisa J Exactly!!!! People ask me all the time how I get protein! (Protein isn't event as important as other things like fiber though and people don't realize that) And I'm like uh do you know how much protein is in broccoli? Same with calcium!! What they don't realize is that animals (like the cows people get their milk from) don't make calcium in their bodies, they get it from the GRASSES and PLANTS they eat!!

Exactly! The only cases in which protein is a concern is when you are calorie deficient, being deficient in calories for protein deficiency is solely in EXTREME cases of which individuals from third world/developing countries experience.

@@brandonb3174 years ago Oprah disparaged a hamburger on her television show and wound up being sued for $10 million. That she caused a massive decline in their business. In this segment above, I’m sure the producers cut him off when he was about to talk about protein to avoid any potential disparagement because there are laws on the books where you can be held liable in certain instances for disparaging or making claims about perishable foods.

I love this video!! My mom is making me watch this because I’m a raw vegan! I’m opening a raw vegan restaurant too. Will you marry me!?! We need to not cook together!

Veganism is for the animals, no need to restrict food even more by not even cooking it! :p Some foods increase their nutritional value when cooked, like carrots, where the nutrients may become more bioavailable when cooked.

Yes I want to go plant base but the produce in my neighborhood has so much pesticides and not fresh and over priced. It's discouraging 😞

Darn, he was doing so good until he started with the raw vegan food pseudoscience. This is one of the reasons why people run away from veganism, is because they think they have to eat raw. Which actually most people don't do very good on. It's rare to thrive long term on a raw diet. Please, if you're considering giving veganism a try, you do not have to go raw vegan. Just eat a variety of foods, whole food most of the time, junk food vegan sometimes and you should do really well. Eat lots of fruit, veggies, beans, tofu, grains, nuts, seeds, whole fats like avocados, whole wheat bread, fortified plant milks, vitamin B12 and you'll do great.

Cosmic Light yeah yogic diets are really good. Cooking food does help it digest. Lots of fresh fruit and rice and veggie style dishes

Jon Daley yes but soaking and sprouting also helps grains, legumes, nuts and seeds digest better. Plus things like raw fruit don't are ideal for digestion as they are so no cooking is not always necessary.

Cosmic Light true. Raw vegan is a healthy diet, but it’s really hard to get all the calories your bodies need because you have to eat so much to do so. Balancing raw and cooked is much more compatible with the American pace and needs. Peace🤗

You gotta be warned though, raw vegan is not supported by science. you need to eat cooked meals also. a whole food plant based diet is the correct diet to follow and be sure that you are not gonna drop off veganism long term.

The concept of veganism is more processed than hot dogs. there's is not a single civilization throughout the history of this world that has ever abided or supported a vegan diet. Meat from hunts, grains, honey and milk have been the core consumption since ancient times. All three major religion permits meat consumption with certain restrictions (pork, shellfish). Now if you are an atheist, ok, then you'll see that nature built us with both canine and molar teeth for consumption of both plants and meat. Arguments that gorillas and cows get their protein from plant is stupidity. No comparison. Just go out in the field and eat grass and bamboo.. let's see how your body reacts. Heck, if we use cows dump for fertilizer, why not go ahead and use your feces to grow plants.
