I think it's a missed opportunity that they didn't have major moments where John comes across undead versions of Dutch, Javier, and Bill and he has to put them down one last time. Their tone could've been the equivalent of that scene where John spits at Javier's corpse in the base game, at least for Dutch & Javier.
I think the reason why john didn't hate bill as much as Javier and dutch was because bill was on that train with sadie while Javier was with dutch and straight up left him to die
@@Stillhandling101id honestly argue that John hates Bill more John easily could of took Bill in alive but decided to kill him where as he can take Javier alive which is alot harder
@@solomonrobertross7490 John could kill the guy aiming at bill then bill will get up and say "alright john , alright" , then he aims his weapon at john but then he dies
Undead nightmare takes some time after John comes back to the ranch and before his death but it is not canon at all. I always thought it was either John's dream or purgatory.
Isnt that what purgatory is for?@@tonis6347 For people to expurgue (idk if it is that is written like that, not my language) their sins. John may doesnt deserve heaven, but if he repents and atoles his sins, he'll go to heaven
Funnily enough that soldier refers to Dutch as Van Der Linde, just as others who hunt him down refer to him as, and to a larger extent, Milton and ross
Is weird Nastas showed up cuz he was killed from a bullet to the head, even the Dr. acknowledged he was still alive so i guess in this continuity he was never killed. Bro got resusicitated just to get killed as a zombie.
Yes, I never understood why Lohn wasnt surprised to know that nastas was alive given that he saw him die, maybe to other peraon is right and he never got killed in undead nightmare.
@The-Deadite UN creates some interesting continuity, Uncle is still dead after the ending and possibly just rotted away since he's not buried, john possibly had a different death entirely given he's in completely different clothes and appears to have been shot in the head, Landon Ricketts is just back in Mexico for some reason, and the entire Mexican revolution is presumably dead in the water since Abraham is killed before he can seize full power in Mexico city. Also it's likely the epiloge is set in 1912 since rdr1 is in late 1911, just a neat fact imo
Imagine an undead nightmare 2 with jack as the protagonist having to fight undead versions of the gang members I think Dutch would be one of the final bosses
I always interpreted UN as John's hell after dying. Returning the mask to escalera in his hellscape was what actually started the apocalypse and john rising from the dead.
At the end of UN there is a cutscene where Seth (the weird grave robber) steals the mask after John puts it back, which is what makes the dead rise again and subsequently, John comes back. Hence why you can play after finishing the story.
I kind of liked the idea that UN was John’s own version of Hell where he never gets to truly rest from gunslinger/outlaw days as he always wanted. He must spend eternity fighting an enemy that can never be killed, and will always rise to be shot down again. Even he cannot die as he comes back as a zombie at the end and must continue to fight the undead for eternity.
@@NinjaBoy10498 It's an alternate reality and not canon to the original game. So it's supposed to be a reality I guess where everything happened the same until after Dutch dies. Then maybe the raid on John's farm still happened but Uncle was already dead in this version.
@@breezyhillproductions349that's such a cheap way to say the devs were idiots and didn't actually want to make a zombie game and just shoveled out less than a quarter finished project that any one of us could creatively design superior.
I think I get your comment. Your confused? So if you are confused this is undead nightmare. A dlc for rdr1 what happens is a jade mask gets stolen in mexico and the dead come back to life. Like rdr1 but zombies. Ive never played it but thats the basics.
I’m just glad that dutch or Arthur never had to come back as a zombie because let’s be honest here that would’ve been difficult as hell to put them down
I don't want to be a killjoy but Arthur most likely didn't exist in Rdr1 undead Nightmare but let's assume that he did exist, Arthur was buried very far from West Elizabeth New Austin and Mexico so even if he had become a zombie it would have been impossible for John to meet him
Woah cool you even play Undead Nightmare, I have the first Red Dead game and Undead Nightmare on my Nintendo switch sadly Red Dead 2 can’t be on Nintendo switch. Undead Nightmare is so much fun though and it’s nice to see that game gets attention still along with the first Red Dead game
I like the Mauser pistol because I can just spam shoot without reloading so much but the bad part is that makes it run out of bullets faster 😅😂, I don’t use the Mauser in undead nightmare so much because I tend to want to save bullets but I use it quite a bit in the normal mode of Red Dead.
I couldn't get into undead nightmare and at the time thought it was stupid... lets take at the time the greatest game ever made and turn it into 1 of the 10 million zombie games... I should give it another shot now that I'm not sick to death of zombie games
It's a good fun time. A nice bit of silly that I think is honestly done better than most zombie games. I hope you enjoy it when you give it another chance.
It's pretty fun, and while it is just a zombie game and there isn't nearly as much content or things to do as the base RDR1, it's pretty unique in being a zombie game in the Wild West, and still has lots of fun to be had. I've played my fair share of it, and while it's a little rough around the edges (that's more the case for both UD and regular RDR1), it holds up very well.
I always found more interesting the idea of it happening in the same universe as the original and that people try not to talk about it too much, like an apocalypse that is not consumed and people try to forget about it.
John literally returns to his family right as the apocalypse starts thus he must’ve killed dutch, javier, and bill. Plus desanta can be found to which he was killed by John either directly or he would’ve died anyway from wounds because john was in Mexico
I thought Dutch and the gang were written off in the guide book? But honestly it's a missed opportunity because I like to think John did the deed, have a nightmare and go on about the missions 😂
I played this game since I was 9😂. I’m 17 currently still enjoying it and I consider this game canon too. If I ever miss playing as John Marston I play Undead Nightmare
@@koolaid33 I mean If someone like Tarantino writes a story about bank robbers on the run and turning it into a vampire fighting story. Then anyone can say an extreme western story can turn to An apocalyptic fantasy or whatever. + there's a lot of supernatural things in red dead.
...??? He didnt exolained anything. Just made a lie of him being of the law. If he trully said something, please tell me here WHAT he said about Dutch not being in Undead Nightmare
I really wish Rockstar should do undead nightmares 2 for rdr2 i kinda and i know Rockstar never really listened to their fans but i wonder if they would listen if people sing a petition for it i mean i don't think they could ignore the whole rdr2 community plus they need to put down gta5 online li mean for the love of God i don't think any game has ever gone through what was it 3 generation of consoles and yet they can't simply upgrade rdr2 to the next console in my opinion when rdr2 came out they should have said ok so we are going to put GTA5 on the back burner rdr2 on the middle burner and GTA 6 first because I'm sure they had plans to start working on gta and Imagine how far rdr2 could have gone. The game was already a masterpiece and on the topic of console generations I'm sure Rockstar knew about the next console and they could have started working on a next generation upgrade and they could have even added undead nightmares 2 to give encouragement to purchase the game again Ok now I'm done sorry for the long rant hopefully someone reads this and agrees with.
John, is this dude now in the military wtf?? Bro I thought he only had like that one mission to get revenge for Arthur where he kills Micah? Guess not okay
It's most likely a reference to the mission "Great Men are Not Always Wise". Where "one last score" Dutch decides to try robbing Blackwater again, a bank this time instead of a ferry but a 'bloody mess' just the same. John technically said it straight since he is practically deputised and stationed in west Elizabeth via Ross. This is the game telling you where Undead Nightmare shoehorned itself into the game's timeline, almost right after the "Great Men are Not Always Wise" mission, but before Ross managed to track Dutch and tell John to hunt him down, meaning Dutch is still alive off-screen during the course of Undead Nightmare.
I dunno man but I despise this dlc. It feels like a fanfic mod. It's shitty, the gameplay is repetitive, the story is crap and nonsense. There are no real characters there, Uncle just casually killed with no regrets, no antagonists, no character development in general. I'd imagine the best dlc for rdr1 would be Jack's future, some short story about what happened after he killed Ross, but nah we got this non-canon weird fantasy. The only thing "cool" about it is the atmosphere
