Sadly, my innocence of youth was corrupted by the songs and stories of Ivor. Luckily my Step Dad only had the one tape recording. I memorized as much as any young boy should and most of its still with me almost 50 years later😢
I wish he had his band sing the repeated chorus line - 'dingle dangle strap it to your ankle' . Every time i played it for people that chorus line always broke people up
Sadly, 'no'. I think that he found the idea of being a pensioner singing those songs a bit perverse! He moved to a small village in Suffolk several years ago and sometimes plays a bit of rock'n'roll in the local pub - but nothing like his 'heyday'. He did come back to London last year for the funeral of a former band mate - Ted MacDouall - and Ivors Jivers re-formed for just one gig. Maybe time for an 'Ivor Biggun' tribute act!
@@arthurtwoshedsjackson6266 I saw him many times. He was brilliant. Such fun evenings with the audience joining in the chorus. He always stood at the side of the stage afterwards selling his albums and was always willing to have a chat.
