Jax, you sweetheart. You look beautiful, you really don't need a diet. Also I love your reactions to these movies. You get so merged to the storylines. Also your movie pet Lemmy, he's old enough to see John Wick do the most brutal things imaginable. .😅 Lot's of love from Finland 🇫🇮
Fun fact. the 2nd set of guys he fights near the end who tell John that it's an honor to fight him. They're from "The Raid" Movies, both of those are considered to be some of the best action movies around. So it's a little callback to fans who've seen both movies that it's cool that they're squaring off.
The director has said that the first three movies take place in about a week and a half, and the fourth one begins about six months after the third one, so he suffered a lot during the first three movies. I also really like the name, “Miss Sparkles”. 😂😂
1. Motorcycles are really easy to ride at speed because the gyroscopic force of the wheels keeps them upright without rider input. 2. When Winston asks John what he needs, John replies "Guns, lot's of guns." which is a line Neo says in the first Matrix movie. Then, he walks into the hotel that is lit with green lighting, which was a trademark of the Matrix films anytime they were inside the Matrix. 3. At the end, Winston was playing chess. He had to do 3 things simultaneously. Get his hotel back, get the adjudicator to leave, and keep John alive. His choice to shoot John in the body allowed him to accomplish all three. If he had refused to shoot John, he would have lost everything. So, Winston is still allied with John at this point.
@@reactswithjaxhey Jax. Totally random. Please watch Knives Out. It's a movie about a great detective known as Benoit Blanc. There's also a part 2 to it called Glass Onion Knives Out. Full of suspense and has great humor, especially the part 2. It's kinda similar to Murder Mystery. You're gonna love it
I knew you missed it, the shiny orange piece of metal that she looks at is the bullet that hit the dog's "Bullet Proof Vest" 22:52 One of the things that make this movie different is that Halley actually trained these dogs herself, so when you see her give a command the dog is obeying her. Not some off camera dog trainer like most movies. Edit: Keanu co-founded ARCH Motorcycles in 2011
A correction Halley trained with the dogs and their trainers in order to know how to work with the dogs. She also she also trained in Gun-foo with Keanu at Taran Tactical you can see how they trained there as well.
I saw this in theaters with 2 tall beers, so I didn’t have to get up for the second one mid movie; I was Floored! I was in a small theater, 25 seats or so, front row, my entire field of vision was overtaken by the screen, and it was perfect! I was in Action Movie Heaven! And this instantly became my favorite of the series! Glad you likey!!!💛🎃
The movie theater in Sebastopol California, where I saw this, starting serving beer and wine at the concession stand a few years back. It’s perfect for date night, a beer or glass of wine with the movie, then the restaurant, then the music venue... I grew up going to the Drive-In as a kid though, I wish they were more of a thing now..
The dog was wearing bulletproof armor, Halle Berry picks out the intact not bloody bullet from the kevlar before the rampage. Similar to John, we see those two dogs as pups in a picture with Halle and her daughter. Now that she can never see her daughter again to keep her safe (only John knows where she is because he hid her for Halle), those dogs represent all she has left of her daughter. Fun fact, Halle Berry actually raised those dogs from pups irl and was instrumental in training them so that they would obey her and look more natural on screen. I think it's also a safer way to handle stunt dogs on set where someone the dog loves one is acting as its handler.
Omg.. I need to watch more movies with you. lol. You are hilarious and also perceptive as hell. I don't know what my brain focuses on, but I miss almost all the lighting cues that you point out. I can't wait until your next upload. Have a great weekend and week. 'See' ya next Friday and thanks for yet another great reaction.
It's difficult to believe, but the 4th film is easily the best one in the series, and that's saying a lot! They just went all out, with insane locations, insane stuns, and insane cinematography.
As good as the story and stunts were, the 4th one had by far the worst CGI of all 4 movies. It was so bad that on multiple occasions it took the audience out of the immersed experience. It's especially frustrating because the CGI was so well done in the first 3 movies, and then out of nowhere they screw up beyond belief with the 4th one.
The ridiculous thing about this Wick movie is that all he has to do is find a dark alley and hide behind some bins for the night and nobody will find him but instead he puts himself in harms way out in the open, and even rides down a street in New York on a firgging horse!!. Crazy.
The Range of Emotions that you go through during the Film is awsome to watch. :D As Entertaining as the movie :) Love your Reactions. Keep up the good work.
I love that he takes all that time to clean and rebuild that antique revolver just to fire one round. He could have just as easily killed that guy with anything else in the room. :) Also, yes.....the knife in the eye is one of the most disturbing things I've ever seen. Everyone has the same reaction to it.
Great reaction :)....red light symbolized times when John is not in control and has to fight/ is in danger, blue lighting meant he is save and in control. You can see that clearly in the Red Circle scenes in the first movie, if you look out for it. Same for the second movie. Looking forward to your next reaction.
37:06 the shotguns they are using a loaded with 12g slugs. Unlike buckshot which houses multiple pellets in a shell, a slug is one massive projectile that extends the shotgun’s range and gives it tremendous power, but at the cost of felt recoil. Since the ammunition is also armor piercing, there’s not much that withstand an armor piercing slug. And even if there is armor plating rated for 12g slugs, it’s still gonna hurt like hell when getting shot by it.
Many scenes within this movie are homages to other movies, the building of gun was homage to The Good, The Bad and the Ugly. JW2 in motorcycle chase at beginning, the movie clip on the side of the building was homage to Buster Keaton an actor and first stuntman. Guns, lots of guns a nod to the Matrix where Keanu and the Director Chad Stahelski had their start of their working relationship.
24:10 literally everybody that I watched their reaction to this movie seem to not notice the bullet proof vest the dog had and that Sophia took the squished bullet out of the vest
Winston and John had that set up to get John free from the High Table. (Hint: well played Sir, well played) Shot him in the bulletproof suit and not the head as you noticed. The fall was totally bogus, they overdid it with that as no one would have survived that fall. Other than that it was a set-up to get John clear of the High Table. You noticed when the Adjudicator told Winston that John was missing he was not surprised at all. Well played Sir, well played.
10:04 the reason why the bullets don’t fit is because the guns have been rendered deactivated, in this case, the cylinder is plugged. However, since there is no one universal way how to deactivate a firearm, in theory, all you would need to do is switch out a couple parts and you can restore it to working order.
So... about that ending.... Recall that his clothing is tough enough to resist bullets from most guns. Normally, getting shot with a thin vest that can stop bullets will still hurt and it can, potentially, still kill you... broken rib puncturing a lung, etc. That is why most "bullet proof" vests come with ceramic plates. So that kind of thing doesn't happen. In John's case, the part of the ceramic plate is played by a new kind of fabric that acts almost like vibranium, the (Marvel) metal from Wakanda in Steve's shield. It deadens momentum, stopping the bullet and not allowing any impact damage. Winston knew this and shot John's torso. The momentum absorbing armor protected John (for the most part) from getting lethally injured in the fall from the Continental. Also, all horses have a "trigger area" near the rear flank, just above their tensor fascia lata, in the middle of their medial gluteal muscle. If you hit it hard enough the horse will buck. (hehe! JK! They usually buck with pain from anywhere on their body.) Now, about this video... You need to reward yourself for the editing job on this! Wow! And you are sooooo funny!! Like when you found killing someone with a horse hilarious! Or not looking for the slow stabs! I am really enjoying your reviews and am looking forward to what is next! Also, can you have Lambie send some positive thoughts my way too? hehe!
unfortunately Lance Reddick the Concierge of The Continental passed away in real life so John Wick 4 will surely be his last appearance...too bad, I truly loved that character!!
Have you seen Back To The Future yet? It's back in theaters for Back To The Future day on the 21st and 25th later this month. You should definitely take advantage of watching that on the big screen
John actually did give Zero a choice. He just didn't say it. It was when he cut Zero's left arm real bad. John wasn't standing in a defensive stance and waited to see what Zero would do. He could have stopped, but he balled up his right fist instead.
when John gets to the roof terrace Winston nods to John and the to the spot that John falls from, the safest place to fall from that roof, he also only shoots john in the armor which is notable because you do not get to Winston's position of power in the organization without being an accomplished assassin, knowing where to aim to kill someone and having the skill to hit where you aim.
I love how you said "John's riding a horse without a helmet. Not very safe. Helmets protect you." when the next scene is him proving that is not always the case. Lol
The chest to head shot is called the Mozambique, 2 to the chest, one to the head. Also seen in the movie Collateral. Also see Keanu Reeves training with Taran Tactical
This ain’t your Marvel Friday but it’s just as good!! Parabellum is my favorite John Wick with JW 4 a close 2nd!! My husband puts on a JW movie at least 1x a week. I’ve seen them all about 20x and i’m gonna watch it again with you lol!! Leeeeeet’ssss Goooooo!! ✌🏾💜
Thank you so much!!! It's good to know that you think JW 4 is great too! I love that you and your husband have seen these movies so many times!! They are great! ❤️🎉🐑
Don't forget Jax, that he also uses horses. The dogs were wearing bulletproof vests. Halle Berry put in huge amounts of hours training with keanu and his team of instructors. On top of that she .put in lots of hours training with the dogs. The set is so noisy that the dogs had trouble knowing what voices to follow, so they trained with her and were taught to follow her commands. The endings and various situations in these movies are often not what they seem. Wick has so many scenarios worked out with friends that are meant to throw others off the trail. On to Chapter 4.
Because of Covid, we had to wait almost 4 years in between the third and fourth chapter of John Wick. It was NOT easy waiting! Looking forward to your next reaction.
These movies are an addiction. I have Chapter 4, but I haven't watched it yet. I'll miss your reactions to it, but I can NOT see a reaction to ANY movie until I have seen it also. So, in a way, you are unknowingly, making me watch Chapter 4 VERY soon. LOL, so thank you. And, Great Post. I'm rushing myself to watch the next one, so I can see other people's reactions. And that does include yours also.
Hopefully you continue this series by watching The Continental after you finish the 4th John Wick movie. Another awesome reaction! I'm excited for next weeks reaction!
Be thankful that like myself, you were able to see each of these quickly instead of having to wait 3 years or so for those who saw them when they originally came out. As far as New York being a "deadly place," sure. In this movie. But did you know that you are more likely (per capita) to be shot to death in Idaho, Montana, Alaska, Texas, or Florida than New York City, due to the varying gun laws (or lack thereof)?
What is going on in new york now, people getting R in public and no ones does anything other than taking out their camera, or old people getting beat up while no ones does anything....so yea the apathy and lack of empathy we see in the citizens in this movie is similar to the real ones today, which is sad.
well i am glad Jax love John wick! but from all the laugh i can confirm Jax is as freaky as us , hahhahha, thats our girl! love your reaction. it is totally a surprise and high. XDDD
I spent 8 years in the US Marines. And the action in the perspective of hand to hand combat, use of weapons and "Desert" as you put it Jax lol. Even now being 36 and was in Iraq as a 20 year old I still remember everything I was taught. And when you are up against someone in the unfortunate situation of its you or them I will use anything as a weapon if l had to. Ultimately anything can be used as a weapon. But all 4 movies have been done amazingly well and I'm very much looking forward to your reaction of the 4th movie. It's is probably the best one they made so far.
How we doing, Jax? I discovered your channel only days ago, but you’re not only a fun and lovely person, but also your reactions are so entertaining. I’ve especially enjoyed your John Wick journey; my personal favourite action series. I’m particularly psyched for JW: Chapter 4, and happily await other film adventures. Have a fabulous weekend, and keep the awesome vibes flowing with reactions. Your new subscriber, Sam Smith ✌🏻
Hi Sam! I'm so glad you're enjoying my reactions. Thank you so much for subscribing and for you kind words. I'm really looking forward to seeing JW: Chapter 4 and can't wait to share that reaction with you! I hope you have the most wonderful weekend as well. ❤️🎉🐑
I believe he used the book cause punching the book while its against another object deals more force to the object that's behind the book so since Ernest was a rather large man he probably used the book to make his punches stronger
Winston didn't betray John. He knew that if that just killed the woman, the High Table would just send more and more after them. I think shooting John and the subsequent fall, even though it was likely to kill him, was the only way they could get the High Table off their back.
9:04 wouldn’t they question why his clothes don’t have bullet holes in them? 12:56 he does the majority of the “action” scenes. He doesn’t consider himself a stuntman so he never says he does stunts. He and the director(who used to be Keanu’s stunt double) discuss the scenes and if a seasoned stunt person can get seriously hurt then he doesn’t do them. Keanu has a ton of respect for the stunt crew and gets them gifts and gets his personal stunt guys more lavish gifts.
At last.. thanks very much.. 😀 You are the best... Really enjoy your reactions.. The dogs have a small bulletproof west. Number four will take your breath away..
Your reaction videos are easily my favorite to watch! I love your reactions to everything and I love how quickly you pick up on themes! I love your Halloween cardigan too!!! It looks very cool! And the first 25ish minutes of this movie are maybe my favorite first 25 minutes to any movie ever! I also had a nice laugh when you said they needed to make a "higher" table because I looked at my clock and it just happened to be 4:20! haha And Keanu does most of his own stunts. He does all the fighting and he even does the stunt driving! The only ones he's not allowed to do are getting hit by cars and falling down the stairs in Chapter 2. Totally worth watching the videos of him doing the gun fight training. Halle Berry did a lot of that too and she was all in for doing it and she worked with the dogs and kept pace with Keanu for it!
