I cannot recall any movie having better choreographed action sequences that john wick 3. Yes the story could have been a little better and more focused on one idea but you know they had to do this world building as well..

That knife fight was amazing. I never took the movie seriously and that's probably why I enjoyed it so much. Most of the 2nd act is pointless and kind of a drag though

John Wick killed fewer people here than in the second instalment so they didn't expand so much with assassins, but instead, he only faced the most dangerous assassins in Parabellum which puts his character in a more vulnerable position.

Johnny boy needs his own action trilogy. It would be a little bit magical, a little bit mystical, and completely badass!

I love the John Wick movies, but me personally, the 1st will always be the best one. Action scenes were top notch and the opening sequence was great. I do agree about the 2nd act.

The fight choreography and action sequences of this franchise are definitely going to change the trajectory of action movies from this point on. The creativity and adaptability, the long takes and of course, the gun-fu fluid fighting style.

Point break is honestly underrated in how awesome it is.

I know this is a few months late, but I am so glad you recommended Blockbuster. I listened to it in one day and loved it. I would really like to see it become a live action movie. If anyone hasn't listened to it, please do and support the creators. It's amazing! Keep it up, John!

So like, what's happening with this channel? There's no variety in the videos anymore, very infrequent schedule, and every video has a different sponsor. I get it, you've got to pay bills. But it feels like you're just doing this for the money now, not because you want it.

I´m totally agree.... There is too the "purpose" of John Wick to be alive just to preserve the memory of his dead wife, that was so meaningless, the guy basically goes deep to fight everything that cross his road, almost dying everytime, and what gives him a purpose is to be alive to remember her??? I loved John Wick (original), loved John Wick II but was not as enthused by John Wick III. The fights grew nearly boring, not because they were not exceptionally well choreographed and thought out (they were very well done), but due to sheer volume. But more importantly because John Wick was no longer fighting for his moral compass through most of it. He was just fighting to stay alive. The first two films he was fighting for a cause I believed in. The third film he was not. And I think that really mattered in how much I was invested in John Wick. Seems the producers are making the same mistake with the John Wick story as Dan and Dave did with Game of Thrones, lets make sure every scene is more spectacular than the previous scenes even if the underlying story about John suffers to achieve this. John Wick is not truly an action adventure, it is a tragedy and story of redemption. Missing these critical elements the movie loses is luster. The fighting style of John Wick is impressive and we love that but that is not enough to compensate for the lack of character transformation. These were not present in the movie until near the very end and even then only kind of superficially included. As such I just did not have the connection to John Wick in the third movie as I did the first two. I really felt his pain as he sat missing his wife and that really made the movies work for me. I hope they do better in this respect in John Wick IV. I agree, the female character you disliked was not well cast. Had too much of a SJW nod feel to her. She just did not bring the character to the level the character could have achieved.

The second act wasn’t a waste. We see how’s in charge of the “table” and Hally berry. And if you noticed when the head of the “table” puts the ring in his pocket the camera kind of zoomed in. So you know Wick is going to come back to get that ring.

I'll explain why the second act of the film isn't superfluous to the rest of the film ** SPOILERS AHEAD ** The point was for John to have a meeting with the one above the table to call off the Excommunicado and the bounty temporarily so he could get back to New York. This factors in to the third act, because Zero can't kill John on Continental grounds. However, John tells Winston that he was sent to kill him and they plan to defend the New York Continental. The idea was that John was lying because if he didn't, then he'd be killed on the spot, but the fact that he did was that he became immune from attack when he got back to New York.

I liked it.... for the most part. I hated the ending. I'm willing to follow the story even when it seems almost impossible that he will survive a situation. However, when he bashes his head several times forcefully on a long fall... and survives it.... um, at the very least he would be paralyzed and/or brain damaged. When I exited the theater I walked to AMC's soda machines then refilled my cup. A random dude who walked just a foot behind me said, "I wanted that bitch to die so badly." I thought for certain that he was talking to his friend. As I turned around I saw that no one was near him (it was 2:00 AM). So he was hated the lady at 6:12 so much that he needed to voice it to ANYONE. I agree with your B- rating. I'm very surprised that it's getting so many rave reviews on imdb and Rotten.

I didn't think the entire 2nd act was pointless, Yeah it technically was redone but John was trying to survive, he was doing whatever he could to, But he never knew he would have to try and kill Winston just to get the excon off his name he wasn't expecting it, So what you see after is the result of his actions from that specific moment.

I loved this movie! I’m between the knife fight scene and the Sofia and her dogs fight scene for my favorite in the movie. My favorite Keanu Reeves movie is probably still the Matrix, but John Wick is a VERY close second

I don't think plot matters so much in these movies, these movies are more visually entertaining than anything, which I know sounds bad , but I love them for that, it's ridiculous in all the right ways.

There just wasn't enough story for me. I love Keanu but I left after fifteen minutes. After the second guy got stabbed in the head, I was done. I also thought all the women working the phones in the beginning with tats wearing the same pink and grey outfits announcing the countdown was tired and dated.

A few SPOILERY two-cents recommendations that I think would have easily made this one of the all-time great action films. - I think everyone agrees the first 30 mins are absolutely outstanding. After this the film should have stayed in NYC and kept the momentum in a "real time" night of chaos, "Escape from New York" as FlickPick suggests is a good model. The diversion to Morocco derails the film and is ultimately completely unnecessary. - Keep Halle and her dogs in the narrative after she is introduced. Have her arrive in NYC to help John and honor her debt when she hears about his ex-communicado. She should definitely have been part of the final assault on the Continental, which with the other characters involved too, would have been a wonderful climax to a trilogy. - Get rid of the ridiculous Adjudicator character. This character should have just been the King/Queen of the whole high-table, who has to come to NYC to sort out the mess personally, ala Thanos. This would have been a natural progression to the mythology and could have been a great chance for some prestige casting: Walken? Pacino? Jolie? - Naturally the climax of the film would be John killing the King/Queen of the High Table at the Continental, instead of dragging out the storyline needlessly. Perhaps Winston could take over the role at the end and grant amnesty to John. One final thing: why has Gary Clark’s 'Bright Lights' not been used on the opening credits of a John Wick film? Brights lights, big city, New York City, you’ll know my name my the end of the night.. John Wick!

john wick of course is one of the best action movie franchise, back to China, there is a type of movie called”swordsmen film”. In the fictional world half of the population is swordsmen, assassins, Kong fu masters, and other half are normal people, government wont interact swordsmen’s business. And their businesses are revenge, kill somebody for someone, and they don’t kill civilians. The concept is really cheesy over the top. But that’s why swordsmen movies are cool. John wick is more of a western modernized swordsmen movie. If u watch John wick 2&3 in this way instead of treat it like a traditional action thriller, then John wick 2&3 will easily get an A(- or +)

people take action films for granted ,theres no excuse for not having a good story even in horror , the first john wick is the best for the story it makes the action scenes more impactful since their the results a johns rage , he had motivation and right when the action starts its even more entertaining since the story builds up the action ,but after the first one they went downhill thats what happened with the taken films because after the first one wich is good for the story because like i said story builds to action they just forgot about the story and wanted over the top action scenes just for the hell of it , same with horror the saw franchise for example the first one had story it had deft it creates tension but then after the first one they just showed the kills and turned out to just be torture porn with no story people take action films and horror films for granted while they can also be masterpieces , i dont like it when people say oh its just an action movie you dont need to think or horror is just horror you dont need to try , but its for this type of mentality is why we dont see a film likeTerminator judgement day or Predator etc

with that many assassins in new york the murder rate would be easily over 1,000 people a day.
