While it may be the most entertaining to look at, it’s probably one of the least practical. Dude is dancing in the middle of a fight. At least it fits his character. I’ve always disliked MKs fighting stances so I’m glad that they fixed the drunken sway in MK1

I have to disagree. I grew up on Mortal Kombat and it always pissed me off that they completely replaced him with another actor because it was obvious that wasn't the real Johnny Cage from MK Classic. All because Midway was butthurt Daniel Pesina was making money somewhere else. He sticks out like a sore thumb and I hate it.

Daniel Pesina's portrayal of Johnny has much more character balance because he is a Hollywood star second and a martial artist first. He is fighting first, with some cheese being thrown here and there. Chris Alexander really lost this effect in his sprite because there's nothing o both sides, and in NRS era he is just a clown rather than a fighter. Well, it's not that extreme, and I like Johnny in MK1, but with this mindset intact with Johnny being the actor first the character never gonna grow into something bigger

Depends on what Era of JCVD you are talking about. Personally the original MK Johnny looks somewhat like JCVD in Bloodsport. People complaining that JCVD in MK1 doesn't look like himself but he does, just a younger version.

I like when the stances change. The changes in design and animation is one of my favorite qualities of MK overall. And i wish so much that the jp fg companies liked to work like that... but they dont have that creative drive. They prefer to keep things the same for laziness disguised under an excuse of "respecting the legacy".
