Too right! After the way she shafted him in the divorce for every penny she could get, she deserves no mercy. If I was Johnny, I'd make her pay it and give it to charity - so that she actually fulfills her pledges this time... I could understand him not giving a penny to the ACLU (considering how they treated him with the op ed), but the CHLA has done nothing wrong and they're down $3.5m. Just over $4m would make up for the missing money, plus interest. As for the other half, considering how much this case has publicised that DV can happen to anyone, I'm sure there are DV charities out there (that assist both men and women) who could put $4m to *very* good use 👍 I reckon that would be a far more popular "PR move" (& decent thing to do) than letting that scam artist not suffer the consequences of her actions...

Johnny should waive the $8.3 million, and settle for $4 million, on the grounds that she declare publicly in the US, UK, and online that: 1. Johnny never abused her 2. That she lied in court and then stipulate that she never comes within 100m of him, and neither her nor any representative of her approach Johnny or his close acquaintances to discuss JD or the case, and that she never utter his name in public for the rest of her miserable life. If she fails any of these conditions, then the balance of the settlement becomes due immediately. Then he should donate the $4 million in his own name to the children's hospital that she stiffed (as stated in court). Of course AH will never agree to these terms and conditions. Her narcissism won't allow her to admit defeat.

If Johnny wants a better "PR move", he should make her pay the money and use it to teach her the difference between "pledge" & "donate"... She doesn't deserve to have it waived! As we learned during the trial, when the shoe was on the other foot (during the divorce proceedings), she went for every penny she could get... CHLA are down $3.5m from their worthless pledge, so half of it could go to them (just over $4m would be the original amount plus interest). As for the other half, the ACLU don't deserve it after the way they've behaved (with the op ed), but I'm sure Johnny could find a good charity that helps DV victims of all genders, so that others in his shoes (but without his resources) can access the help they need. I think that making her pay her debts, and those of other people who have been abused by people like her, would be very therapeutic - for Depp and the public.
On the money...I think because she owes the money for her actions (defamation) bankruptcy doesn't protect her. She would still have to pay it. If she continues to defame him...why be generous?

I hope Johnny does not waive the money for Amber, simply because of how intentional she was at trying to destroy him and the fact that she continuously lied about it.
