Johnny Hiland is not only a monster guitar player, but is also a nicest guy out there. I really love everything about him.

He's probably the GREATEST player alive!!!! He's certainly all about the Guitar & it comes across!!! Is their a style he can't play? I certainly think without a doubt that he could be the most versatile player on the planet!!!

That is one awesome sound, and the amp looks like my 1976 HiWatt 200 watt. You are an amazing player.

I think Reeves Space Cowboy is based on HiWatt amps...
@auntjenifer7774
@auntjenifer7774 5 лет назад
@@CreamFreshCream it is based on hi wat just by looking at it but I think he wanted a higher power deluxe reverb type sound but I'm pretty sure that space cowboy has EL34 power tubes so that is pretty marshalland but you can hear his tone isn't typical Marshall tones until he plugged THAT plexitone in but there you have it...

Plus the Plexitone is buffered so running it last in your chain gives you a buffered pedal for long cable runs. I sure love mine...

Why is this pedal not on your current pedalboard?
@ThatGuitardedGuy

Luis Hernandez Johnny's board changes all the time depending on what he's doing. he has 3 active pedal boards he uses for different applications. in town gigs, tours and a flyboard. it's on one of them

Their AC Tone pedal is far and away the best Vox drive pedal on the market, also.
@auntjenifer7774
@auntjenifer7774 5 лет назад
I have to disagree about the "best vox drive pedal on the market" because vox makes a real high voltage 12ax7 pedal called the flat 4 boost and it's a top boost circuit with baxandall hi low mid cut boost function just like the vintage vox amps and you can wind the gain ALL the way up on this pedal alone or hit it with a klon or ts808 whatever for some serious Brian may balls to the wall lasers shooting from your eyes distortion and sweeter chime and harlots Harmonic overdrive like no others !!!!😆😉 I got mine for like $48.00 or maybe less ? But there's a website I got from that was blowing em out or something so I snagged one real fast, wish I would have got two of THEM for low chime overdrive and kick the second on for the full Monty !!!!

Does anyone know the song Johnny plays at 5:53 in this video? The progression sounds familiar, but I can't think of what it is.

I think it's a "Sammy" era Van Halen tune

@Rianolf Yeah man, that was my first thought. Van Halen do a song with a similar chord progression, but I think this is closer to what he does. Thanks!
