Haha I heard that too! I’m pretty sure he asked to use one of Isaacs dusty unused guitars because his wasn’t going to be able to cut through Isaacs guitar style lol
It’s true! I read his book and he used one of Brock’s guitars, this was the first thing he played on it, and then he liked the guitar so much that he kept playing jaguars and jazzmasters.
Holy shit I’m a fan of modest mouse and the smiths and I had never realized Johnny Marr was a member of modest mouse before reading your comment. Such a cool cross over!
it’s crazy that he’s barring the high strings and still getting his thumb around the e string. or maybe it’s not, being that i’m using an acoustic guitar. i’ve been trying to nail this for days
+JoeyBooey The first time he met with the band Isaac asked him, "Is there a riff that kicks ass that you've just been sitting on and isn't in a song yet?" The result is Dashboard.
I don't think it gets much clearer than a fairly close up shot of the mans hands who actually wrote the guitar rift. It's not to hard to play along and figure it out and you know you're getting the real deal, not someones interpretation.
