Everyone I met who new Sid including their tour manager really loved him. Or at the very least said they liked him. Soo said they saw Texas Chainsaw Massacre together ❤️
As others have said i could listen to John speak for hours. He's lived through some very low points, and some very high points and every time he speaks its with sincerity and full of emotion.
@@kathrinfischer3684 Thank you Kathrin, Bless you for that! Funny thing is Leipzig is the only place I have been to in Germany! Here’s what I remember: Cobbled roads, meat with meat-sauce on a plate of meat for breakfast, with a meat dessert, and a whole room of German engineers shouting at me in the first ever Burger King because they had just paid me to fly first-class from Birmingham to repair something that they had simply not plugged in!!! 🙈😂 “You made us look stupid!” The boss shouted at me!!!?? 🤣 That was in 95 I think? Anyway, best wishes to you from an Englishman now making armour in a French forest. 🌞👍⚒️
Nowt but respect for John, a man from the generation of mega nonces and creeps who is anything but, he's rough round the edges but a true gentleman and as trustworth a bloke you'll ever meet.
@@Boilingfrogg I was only born in 94 mate. However he’s influenced my life from first seeing god save the queen at about 8 I now have multiple tattoos of the guys check out some of my shirts there’s a few pistol covers I’m disabled and recently started up again probably!
Had the pleasure of going to see John Lydon at Blackpool.. very entertaining, loved hearing about his life & his question time ..much more entertaining than any politicians..👍
@@adamfindlay7091 Yeah I think he always regrets bringing simon/ Sid into the band. Because in a way that was his downfall. But you can't change what was.
This man is 1 of the most genuine blokes ever to walk this earth he dont care who he upsetts and was treated like shit after he knew about Saville and the rest of those BBC beasts
@Boilingfrogg brilliant content I remember wen I was 10 my sister asked me what I wanted for my birthday present??? My reply was the sex pistols never mind the bollocks LP !! she took me for it I've still got it along with my other pistols records
@@ianwoodham3676 Nice one! Bet it'll be worth a Bob or two? Not that you'd want to sell it of course .so you've been a pistols fan since the very beginning. I was a late starter. I got into the pistols around 1979. You'll be the Same age as me then. I was born March 67
@Boilingfrogg I've got several classics and rare copies on vinyl I've just finished work and I'm listening to the great rock n roll swindle n having a well deserved beer
John is a fantastic human being . I love his stories ,his values and his respect for others . I wasnt a punk . I loved the specials 2 tone and madness . But all the interviews ive seen him in .... he makes sense and hes true to his word love you lots johnny ...... youre not so rotten as people make out
@@leonboden7974 LOl I got into punk at around 1979. Always been a pistols fan. Also was into crass the Exploited ANWL And the rest. Yeah I didn't mind the specials. I've never know anyone who don't like em?
@Boilingfrogg watch I think rock goes to colledge specials in concert . I used to come home from school and at 6pm bbc2 that was on . Terry hall became my idol there and then he didn't take any crap . It'll be on you tube 1979 or 1980 maybe . Good on you for your favorite groups 👏 in early 80s at discos all the tribes used to wait around the dance floor until it was their tribes time to join in it was awesome like ska mod punk new wave Adam and the ants rock etc etc it was fab and truly I don't think that has ever happened since those days
@@leonboden7974 Yes I remember it well. Different tribes waiting for their turn on the dance floor. At our local youth centre it was always the same two records they'd play every Friday. Dead Kennedys "Holiday In Cambodia" and sex pistols "Holidays in the sun" we'd be falling all over the place dancing. After drinking a few bottles of strongbow cider in the streets. Lol
Je suis devenu fan des Pistols et des Stooges grâce à Kurt Cobain. Johnny Rotten est quand même le chanteur de l'un des meilleurs albums de tous les temps...J'adore ce type, il est authentique et fou dans le bon sens du terme!
Used to be my hero now he's become an insular, royalty loving brexiteer.. reactionary where he used to be rebellious..very sad to see.. became everything he fought against
He's still part of the counterculture only now its the left who want to gag free speech . And close down debate. I'm no royalist but I'll be voting reform as I voted brexit.
Would of really liked to see him......he postponed the original gig we were going to but the new dates given for the 2nd July at Newark we are away so can't go......does anyone know anybody who would like to go?
Sidney seemed very intelligent... and some Buddhists have dragons in their closets. Read it in a book of their scriptures. Dragons. This year is the year of the dragon... or the moon... or the Buddha.. or white halos ... a year of possibility and crazy sorrow .... I didn't know him... we had the records, later we saw the film... I remember Johnny the Written ... though the Swindle might even be good... long ago... lot of ciggies smoked since then.
What's all that tantra punk on about... do they rub the creme on like Buddhists at an anarchists tea party... oh mystic. Dear Sidney... the dark years of the 70s and we were kids either food or cigx our mothers chose daddies drinkies in a brave new world... ah love n light of varanasi beach ... did you see that film 'no man of God' on itvx the other day.. as if to say, heaven is guaranteed for everyone. But it doesn't mean you're going to like it... pray.. Love you Keep in touch Jim
@@blakkno666 Yeah he signed stuff. But on our local forum website it stated that rotten would only sighn one or two items. + he won't sighn anything to do with the sex pistols. I had a sex pistols ticket from when I saw them in Birmingham back in 2008 so didn't bother taking it. all I took was a PIL ticket and one of his books to sighn. When we got to meet the guy he was signing everything for people Pistols merchandise the lot.. I was gutted.
I was a hard core punk 77. Birmingham UK. Every body was skint No future 3 million on the dole.. Class system was strong. Working class wasn't supposed to become Any thing other than factory workers. The punk movement said fuck that Do what you want. I did.. Forget American punk Not the same. Any way my point is. The look was all down to John. The attitude was down to John Question every thing. The wake up.call to the system Inc the royals . Was down to John's lyrics. He is the British punk Movement. To have the balls to Write about UDA IRA ect in the 70s Amongst other subjects was tough beyond belief.... The band was the Tank & John was the war head. He changed my life for the better. Ive done loads of stuff in my life that teachers & parents Attitudes would of stopped me.. If I had listened to them & not the Pistols. Thanks for reading And thanks John Thanks Sex Pistols. RESPECT.
@@Mr75044 Thanks for that. I agree to an extent . UK punk and NY Where world's Appart. But I doubt Johnny would view himself as part of a "punk movement" laterANAKO Bands like crass dirt, sub humans etc.were considered as a " movement" But I doubt they would consider themselves as part of a movement either? as in the lyrics of crass. "Movements are systems and Systems kill" they're just giving their options. Did you get to see the original pistols back in their day? Thanks for your reply my friend.
@@Boilingfrogg That was my view & I was there. Later on I did see EXPLOITED discharge crass ect. We all see things from a different angle. Thanks for reply.
@Boilingfrogg lTs been said LEMMY KILMISTER OFFERED TO TEACH SID, OF COURSE HE NEVER DID.SID PLAYED THE SYRINGE PRETTY GOOD BUT A BASS PLAYER I DONT THINK SO !
@@imagine9265 John lennon wasn't exactly clean from drugs back in the day.? I've watched footage of winterland and other venues. You can hear him clearly playing in tune + The part where Jones guitar fks up.
