I was expecting Sid to start singing "If you change your mind, I'll be first in line! Honey I'm still free, take chance on me!" Now that would have been wicked 🖤
@@luismarioguerrerosanchez4747 oh true, I didn’t know that, that’s pretty cool homie lol, but it definitely would’ve been sweet if this was actually an abba cover
@@acbenepe No it's a Jerry Nolan & Walter Lure song which didn't make it onto The Heartbreakers' L.A.M.F. album but it did appear on their 1979 album 'Live At Max's Kansas City' and the early Yonkers demos when Richard Hell was still in the band. I always preferred Sid's version to the Heartbreakers version. It's actually Jerry Nolan playing drums on this Sid Sings version. Nancy Spungen said on that cable TV show with Sid and Stiv Bators that Sid's plan was to release his next single with The Idols backing him. Unfortunately it all went pear shaped before that happened. Sid in a band with the New York Dolls rhythm section of Nolan and Kane looks good on paper. But would he have been able to get it together to write an albums worth of original songs and if so would they have been any good?. Listening to the Idols' only single and the London Cowboys cd. That might give you an idea of where it could have gone.
Lol but you still came on here watched and commented 2 subscribers I see who's the untalented one. Is the internet your vocal voice for someone who would be otherwise invisable. Fuck off!
@@sc4344 I think your comment says more about you than anyone else. They just wanted to say they're opinion. And look, here you are starting an argument over it. "Is the internet your vocal voice for someone who would be otherwise invisable". Says the guy starting arguments over peoples unaggressive opinions, because you have no one to actually talk too.
What a character. Sid most likely was the truest punk there ever was...he exuded the attitude, look and certainly the lifestyle that punk rock truly was.
he was merely a kid..go watch the free gig that they did for Xmas in 77 UK to just play out somewhere really and ended up doing this to support the miners strike where it was all mainly kids between 5 and 16! they even decided to keep the lyrics adapted for them!
Punk bands seemed amateur but there was a lot of talent among certain punks I don't know how much talent Sid had the fact he portrayed an image makes him more like a model
Sid was funny in this. He did not take things seriously. And was not as stupid as people think. Drugs are terrible things When used to the extent Sid used them. Rip sid
@Dane Gonzalez So the Punk scene was all about sucking at learning an instrument???? The Clash Succeeded. Dead Kennedys Succeeded. Don't think they would have if they could only play the radio.
He was a crap musician. All he had was stage presence. He couldn't play drums, he couldn't play guitar, he couldn't play base. At all. He just had the look for the time. That's all. He put himself in a box with the heroin and what's her f*ck. Sad really. Johnny laments about it all the time. They were thick chaps, but sid couldn't play his way out of a wet paper bag.
I neither loved nor hated him. Just kind of felt sorry for him. He was just a confused kid that got in way over his head and paid the final price for it. I’ve known many others like him over the years.
I never saw this video before or heard this song. Gotta say it's one of Sid's best. He sings better than he plays bass, that's for sure. Gotta love the Pistols.
Steve Jones and Paul cook were decent musicians and John Lydon went on to form the highly acclaimed Public Image Limited. People like to present Syd as inept and true Steve had to overdub a lot of his bass, but before Sex Pistols he was drummer in several bands , including Siouxsie and the Banshees
He was only a kid being used by the celebrity handlers. MM & EMI turned him into some sort of antiestablishment antihero!! Remember, 90% of his career he was a teenager! A kid. God rest his soul. ✌️😇
Они им воспользовались, сделали наркоманом и убили подростка ради денег. И никто его жизнь и здоровье не защитил, им только и нужно было чтобы он себя убивал, покупали ему наркотики и давали деньги. Все ради развлечения публики и прибыли.
I thought it was Malcolm goading him on to constantly “be outrageous” and Nancy feeding both his ego and the monkey on his back copious amounts of dope and praise (“You’re too good for these guys Sid. You need to front your own band. I’ll manage you”). Besides the usual marketing tactics, the record labels didn’t have a whole lot to do with shaping his image.
@@howiseeit5326 yeah, his face looked like a sweet kid's. even if he killed nancy. a killer can have a sweet face, what does one thing have to do with another? nothing!
@@howiseeit5326 he probably didn't kill her Mick jagger or Keith Richards I think was willing to pay for his defense it was clear to a lot of people he was framed
@Tie Shoe Sid was at Johnny`s house and he tried to play with the hamster and the hamster bit him on the hand so Sid (or Simon as he was actually named) screamed and shouted at Johnny..."That Sid is really f*cking vicious!!" and thus the legend was born.
1:26 Old French guy watched The Untouchables "What you bring to a fight ..you do it the Chicago way ... he pulls out a flick knife, you pull out a baguette.".
Be in Peace Sid Vicious, without passing cloth to you or to anyone, but your childhood was very bad with you, Sid Vicious, needed a lot of help and had little "It". But it became a legend.
"Take a Chance On Me" Lyrics Well, I know you think I'm crazy I'm always lookin' to get high I create a lot of problems But now I'm really gonna try Been in a messy situation And for you it's been no fun But if we're getting down to favours Then baby, you can do me one Take a chance on me Take a chance on me Take a chance on me Take a chance on me Well, I know I'm just a junkie And I can't make it off the floor But all that really doesn't matter Because with you I'm something more And it's a little complicated And everything they say is true But if we're ever gonna make it There's one thing you have to do Take a chance on me Take a chance on me Take a chance on me Take a chance on me

Bullshit. He was awful Have you seen the youtube documentary,'Sid by the people who really knew him'? Forget fawning posh prat Viv Albertine. Listen to Ron Watts of the 100 club and all the fights he had to stop that Sid started. For example a glass thrown which blinded a girl in one eye, permanently, he ran at another girl with a knife and shoved the official sex pistols photographer, Ray Stevenson against the wall for taking a shot of him with a few children. And that's not all.
@Scott Young And right they were. In 1978 there were still millions of holocaust survivors, many of them only in their 40s. It was not uncommon for them to show up as counter-protesters at neo-nazi demonstrations.
@@g.walter1653 Yep, our society is at a scary point RN, Because we are more in need of real people now than ever before. But our society is based around a "Don't talk about that, it might be offensive to someone" attitude. We need to be able to start a narrative, and honest debate without screaming words like "Sexist" and "Racist", because we even begin to approach the idea of double standards, and truth manipulation.
I love how people think there free these days. Growing up in the 70s and 80s we had a great time. These days if you scratch your arse in public you get arrested. 🙄😏😉
