Johnny vs. Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back 

Apparently I was so distracted by Bubsy’s chatter, I didn’t realize there was a volume slider on his voice! Still appreciate that audio glitch, though.

I like to think that someone gathered the dragon balls then accolade showed up out of nowhere and stole a wish.

You know that cult classic from your childhood that you adore? Bubsy got a sequel while that game is stuck in the past. Think about that.

Theres actually a option in the the audio menu to turn bubsy's one-liner frequency up or down. The lowest is "Silent Bobcat" and the highest is..."Bubsy." Well at least they were self aware.

Crash Bandicoot got Remastered, Mario got another open-world game (First was Super Mario 64 and now Super Mario Odyssey), and now Bubsy? Weird thing is Crash Bandicoot, Super Mario 64 and Bubsy 3D came out the same year (1996). *The more you know*

I can't believe this game cost more than Sonic Mania.

Bubsy gets a revival despite having no quality games and yet Klonoa's large fanbase is still waiting for Klonoa 3. What the hell is wrong with the world?

"...best game in the Bubsy series..." The dumpster fires weren't exactly setting a high bar there.

I expected nothing and was still let down. Amazing.

You're problem with Bubsy talking too much can be resolved in the options menu, you can straight up turn the voice off. Kinda disappointed you didn't find that, because the labels they have for each degree of verbosity are realllyyyyy funny!

There is actually an audio option for how many one-liners Bubsy says. The highest value is titled "Bubsy". That's clever. I really love this. :))

It's Amazing, that there's so many series that people have been wanting new titles of for decades, and yet bubsy, the ONE franchise that NO ONE to my knowledge was asking to make a return, gets a brand new game. Ristar, Rocket Knight, Goemon, Astal, Klonoa, Nights, and plenty of other franchises I can list have gone decades without anything new, but Bubsy makes a return somehow.

They weren’t kidding with that threat of a sequel at the end, it just got officially announced. Bubsy: Paws on Fire.

As much as people are tearing this thing apart, I think this represents something very comforting. Even if you are absolutely terrible, even if you have made mistakes, someone can come along, and help you get back on track to being at least alright. To me, that's comforting.

Gotta commend Accolade for making a Bubsy game that's at least playable to a degree. I hope they take criticisms to heart and fix the biggest problems. I'm not expecting Super Mario Odyssey levels of amazingness, but I hope Bubsy can somehow become a solid platformer genre that somehow fights all the odds of his terrible, terrible past. It would make an awesome comeback story at the very least. They have a solid idea of how to make Bubsy good, they just need to expand upon it.

And let me guess... E.T will strike back.

Pubic Hair Strikes Back

Actually, the original Giana Sisters devs got sued by Nintendo because the game was so similar to Mario. Which to be fair, it was because the company wanted to port Super Mario Bros and Nintendo said no. In which they created the Giana Sister and boasted in magazines that they would be better than Super Mario Bros. Anyway the game only came out for one of the old PC systems popular in Europe and had plans for multiple ports, but the lawsuit kept it off shelves for too long and it was pirated way too much after everything was said and done. I probably messed up some details, but if you are curious, Larry Bundle Jr talked about it in one of his videos.

I really, *_really_* want to see Bubsy come back as one of gaming's new most iconic platforming stars. Imagine the legacy that would be told. "A mascot sabotaged to fail by even his own creators, beaten and kicked by everyone in the world for 20 years, until he finally stood up, grabbed the world by its reigns and became a worshiped figure by all." I'm friggin' rooting for Bubsy, man. I want that story to be real. Bubsy could be like the ultimate anime protagonist or something, coming back stronger than ever and saving the day, even after his presumed death.

Congrats Bubsy. You've achieved the bare mimimum. Still a cash grab banking on the meme and over pricing it unbelievably. Barely 2 hours, no competition rewards, bare basic functions. It's just a cash grab.

You have to admit that bubsy is learning and trying to adapt and become like the other popular platformers.

1 year update. Bubsy IS returning.

Wow. Bubsy actually looks adorable and not terrifying like in Bubsy 3D. I didn't know what you're complaining about with his voice though. His voice is MUCH better than it was before. However I do agree with this being very bare bones so I think they should try to learn from their mistakes and use that as motivation to create a better game for the talkative furball.

You know what I loved about this game the most? The fact that ProJared did a playthrough on his channel, and beat the game in such a short amount of time, he qualified for Steam's refund policy. And he took advantage of it. What a pile of crap. I hated Bubsy as a kid when it first came out, and I hate that it's still a thing to this day. It just will not go away.

Everyone is getting pissy at Johnny for not doing Mario Odyssey yet, but come on, this Bubsy game was less than a 10 minute review that he was able to churn out. You don't rush a big game like Odyssey.

Giana Sisters Twisted Dreams is this game, done well. Literally it's the same game engine,but the gameplay is funner, the presentation better and the level design more interesting. It was quite critically acclaimed, I'm pretty surprised you never heard of it. It has little to do with the classic computer game though.

Uh... to be fair Johnny, you can actually completely mute Bubsy in the options.

I feel like it costs 30 dollars to capitalize on the "morbidly curious" crowd.
