Great review, though I slightly disagree on the items. Agility also affects the speed at which you can fire arrows, and when you level it up, the bow and arrow becomes absolutely ABSURD in how much damage it can deal

I'm so glad this game was available for Switch. I got it the same day I got Link's Awakening.

You guys neglected to mention that raising your agility stat also increases the speed at which you fire arrows. Having really high agility makes arrows better than magic since they'll fire faster with no ammo penalty

i could of sworn that it was how many hits you do that gives you exp which is a bit odd for most games ill say that

The characters sort of remind me of links different versions of zelda the four swords or is that just me??

Correction(and possibly helpful tip); You don't get experience points when you kill an enemy, but everytime you hit them with an attack. So the best way to lvl up easily is to avoid trying to max out your melee and/or magic stats from the gate and give attention to your defence and speed early on. Though it will mean it will take a bit longer to deal with each enemy, you can end up getting so much more experience this way.

John, you think at some point you'd upgrade to Smash 4 style character intros for your guests?

I've only ever played this solo, and I agree it gets repetitive, but the one-on-one duel with the Necromancer (and his 50 or so minions) is always so satisfying, especially with the track used for the fight "Simple Sight", which I am surprised you didn't mention a single time. It is easily the highlight of the entire soundtrack, even though it kinda has a sad story nowadays with it overshadowing all of the creator's future works to the point he practically despises it.

The bow and arrow is deadly if you raise your agility - the higher your agility, the farther the arrows go, the more damage the arrows do, and the more rapidly you can fire the arrows (and the faster you’re able to run).

This and Halo 3 were pretty much my childhood, glad to see you getting to it.

1) You did yourself a disservice only using magic attacks 2) The heavy attack has a higher dps 3) The enemy health is more than reasonable, you can’t make things too easy or else the game would just be a push over

This reminded me of something. One moment, looking at my list of favorite likes in LPs, *clears throat*, 'what killed the ice age? THE DINOSAURS!' and my job here is done.

Something I noticed with castle crashers in difficulty is that the number of foes scale up with how many players are present, if you want to level up fast upgrade Strength last, and if you want to live forever max out your defense. That and buying lots of healing potions to insta-revive to max

Speaking of Newgrounds, hey Johnny do you remember Metroid Confusion? It was a brilliant 2 part flash animation about two space pirates who break into Samus's gunship to get a basket of chocolate chip cookies back that she stole. It's an all time classic.

That opening scene of Johnny playing with his kitten was hilarious.

Ah Castle Crashers. I didn't play this game a whole lot, especially when compared to Halo 3 or Phantasy Star Universe, but I had a lot of fun with friends and witnessing all of the weirdness. Watching this video gave me a needed injection of Nostalgia so thank you Johnny.

WOW 10 YEARS!?!? Damn!!!! I seriously remember that game being #1 on XBLA for SO many years. Then it went down, for a few weeks, then went back to #1 for about another 2-3 years.

Genuinely one of my all time favorite beat 'em ups and on couch co-op games. I still play through this with friends and I do actively hope for a sequel that will probably never come.
