Fun fact,in silver and gold Beta,Lugia wasnt even considered for the game. He was made exclusively for the movie 2000. It was only due to his massive popularity that he finally was given a slot in the actual games after the fact.

Hey I love your countdown reaction, I say keep doing them lol. I am not big Pokemon fan (a bit of a casual) and even though I've never owned this Pokemon (I only play Y), I do love Lugia too because of the 2000 movie. I made a written list of my fav Animated Moments set to Music, and that epic music scene at the climax was on there. Keep in mind this list covered Movies, Cartoons, Anime, and Video Games! Yeah I went there and that scene was still in that list (and I picked one moment per franchise). I legit almost cried during that scene. We'll see how Scarlet and Violet's Legendaries do.

Pokemon 2000 made Lugia stand out. I can tell by it's presence. Dialga Palkia and Giratina made Sinnoh and Hisui Region amazing. Suicune and Ho-oh is epic.

I think Yveltal was supposed to be based on Hraesvelgr, the giant shaped like an eagle who sits at Heaven's End. I think that was what they were going for with him; the devs, perhaps, thought 'Heaven's End' meant death. (EDIT: Looks like you came to that conclusion too. Also I think Xerneas was supposed to be based on Yggdrasil itself since in the games in its dormant form it takes on the form of a tree, but when you mentioned the Deer, yeah, that probably played into it too.) I kind wish we did get a Legendary interpretation of Fenrir or Jormungandr though - no I don't count Zygarde's 10% and 50% power forms; they are WAY too small to be a 'proper' reference to those two. Jormungandr is supposed to be able to wrap around the world and back again - a Legendary based on him could've been the biggest Pokemon in the entire franchise. As for the 10% form, it's barely more than half the size of Arcanine; Fenrir's supposed to be huge. (EDIT: Looks like you came to that conclusion too.
