This season has been one of the series best, so I'm glad you're reacting to at least one.

When Aule made the Dwarves, he specifically made them to be highly, hugely resistant to outside control: hence the seven Rings given to them could only amplify what was there, not change their thoughts or minds. The greed was natural to Dwarves, but the Rings just made it MORE so. This battle was fun, but for me, it's like Arthus is bringing magic and a bad-ass sword to a God-fight. To completely judge such a contest you must examine all attributes from both "story-universes". And it comes down to this simple fact: Warcraft has no Eternal or Immortal beings of simple will and power. They have a group CALLED "the Eternals" but that group was made by OTHERS, and that group can be killed, and "final killed" as well, erased from existence. There is no concept of a truly immortal soul in Warcraft, and certainly no hint yet at actual Eternal Nature - never having began, never ending, self-existing. LOTR: Eru-Ilúvatar is Eternal. He formed the Ainur (Valar and Maiar) with his will and granted them life from his own self-existing Life. Together the Ainur sang, and Eru listened, then brought their song into reality... just by willing it to be so. Sauron is an Ainur, a Maiar - lesser in power than the greatest, the Valar, but still an Immortal spirit being that pre-existed the whole of creation and was in fact partly responsible for signing it into being in the first place. Outside of time, space, matter, energy. Yeah, nope. The fact that the battle lasted as long as it did I'd put down to Sauron simply toying with Arthus. There is no force in Warcraft capable of standing against a Maiar, never mind a Valar, and the idea becomes simply laughable if you match any "god" of Warcraft up verses Eru-Ilúvatar himself.

Really really happy to see you back with this, even if it's only this once. And I agree that several of the modern Death Battles have been... lackluster, but there are a few precious gems among them. This one included. And yes, I as well guessed correctly from the beginning, that Sauron had this in the bag. Even though I'm a much bigger fan of Arthas. In addition, if you're interested in watching some of the past Death Battles, Saitama vs Popeye is a really good one!

Never thought I'd see the day you react to death battles again although it is always a treat. Unfortunately, for me I wasn't much a fan of either franchise. I have yet to read or even see any Lord Of The Rings media and while I have recently gotten into WoW's storyline. It didn't grab my attention as much. My interest in Death Battle started to really take a dip around recent years. It was around when the Ben 10 Vs. Green Lantern fight was released where I really started to notice their bias and favoritism towards the characters. Then Korra Vs. Storm showed up which cemented my dislike for the series.
