I am coming Johns hopkins , just wait a Little bit I am gonna be one of top pediatrics neurosurgeons in the world , I am gonna give my hole life to save sick kids who suffer from illness in the brain , I will live for that purpose only
My dream is to be a great cardiologist and a great human being who can save people's lives and increase their life quality Im a fourth medical student in iran and im passing my internal medicine round but what im seeing here in my country is that there is no such care for patients and my patients are suffering from pain and they even dont have primary health care like privacy or clean equipment. On the other hand, our residents and even some of our professors don't pay enough attention to patient and some of them ignore our findings about our patients. They themselves are overwhelmed with work and they have no time for discussing their patients and they have no time for rest and their family. I used to dream to come to America and study internal medicine and challenge with my other colleagues about our patient's problems and do researches but what i saw in my internal medicine course made me think that internal medicine resident's quality of life is so low and they have no time to do anything. Im depressed that i must forget my dream . When i saw this clip it seems impossible for me to join your programme one day and follow my dream as ur programs are for genius not someone ordinary like me. But i still dream of working as an internal medicine resident in a highly standard hospital.
Faeze Gharibpoor Hi how much years it takes to be a doctor in iran? you can't assume if you're going to be accepted or not, I advise you to do well in your steps, do research and clinical rotations in US if possible, this will make a potential candidate!
Farah Lebanon thanks for your response. It's 7 years of education for being general practitioner in iran. Im going to do my best during these years and one day i may be able to make my dreams come true💪🏻
Fabulous video. Thank you for sharing!!! I need your help with this question, which may sound dumb. Will be soon applying for residency in IM. Was lucky to have opportunities for substantial research in digestive diseases/cancer and radiation oncology in med school. I am drawn towards GI as my ultimate career goal. Is it ok to share my ultimate goal during IM residency interview. Since lot of schools probably trains majority of IMs to meet the needs in primary care, urgent care, hospital medicine and so forth. Will I be impacting my chance for IM if I share upfront my underlying intention to do IM is to get into GI?
