In this video I'll be using some wool felt and crewel embroidery to stitch an Orange Tip Butterfly. This is Part 1 of creating a unique brooch, which is really a piece of wearable art. The stitching is easy and is mainly long and short stitch. There's also a Turkey Work tutorial. I used this stitch for the body.
Part 2 will show the construction of the brooch itself.

Love the butterfly (futter by). I have made a Rya pillow in the past, it's so soft and fluffy. Don't forget to put the other blk dot on the underside wing. Love all you do.

Thank you for sharing the demonstration of the turkey stitch..I always never quite understood how to secure the stitch or the backstitch. I just secured where I thought..never actually saw exactly how it was done...I best not pull on any of my turkey work.❤

Butterflies and Moths in Britain and Europe by David Carter. I think you'll have to look for it second hand as it's quite an old book. It's part of a series by Pan Books. All of which are excellent. Most are by Roger Phillips.
