Since the Stuttgart tile is raised above the frame,you can use it as a trivet for hot bowls on your table or next to your stove when cooking.

Great thrift haul. I think that you would enjoy seeing the painting every time you walk down your stairs, it's so sweet that your dad purchased it for you. The Stuttgart piece would look great in Mike's study area or by his side of the bed. Isaiah is so sweet asking kitty which way do you want to go. 🐈‍⬛

Laughing at Isiah. as he raised both his hands at the dining table, seeming to say, “I dont know.” I am guessing you asked him where you should place the lidded basket. Years ago when my two kids were very young (they are now young adults), I found a stash of white restaurant ware at a garage sale 10 mins from my house. Multiple plates, soup bowls, smaller bowls, coffee cups, all plain white, heavy, and very durable. I bought a bunch (I remember boxes!), and we are still using all of it! I know I couldn't have spent much because then I didn't have much to spend. Your white plates reminded of it. Great buy!

Blue paint on the upper walls in the dining area would make all your white dishes pop and look really pretty. Would tie it into the blue accents you have been adding around the rest of the house.

Love seeing your finds and how you used them. My favorite part was seeing your son play and talk to the cat. My boys are grow and most of my grandchildren are so I miss this age. Looking forward when my little rainbow great granddaughter Stella will be born in September. Please pray for my granddaughter Ashley and her precious rainbow baby Stella.

Artwork from your dad: love it either on the stairwell as the start of a gallery wall...or where you put it above the staircase. Stuttgart tile: I see it has a hook on the back... you could start a gallery wall up your stairs, starting with baby pictures of your husband, and that tile since he was born there...and one of you,...and momentos to hang amongst the pics...then your kids...do a Family Tree Gallery Wall and include all sorts of things!

Your sweet son talking to his cat brought back memories. When my youngest son was about his age(he's now 25) he would have many a sweet conversation with our dog. My son was blonde too. Just precious.

What a great family tradition to pass on to your boys. Your son is adorable! I love all your treasures you found. Be very careful if you try to remove the Stutggart tile from it's frame. It could crack on you. I think it would look very nice in the stairway wall with the painting your dad got you. Maybe one on top of the other? Or in a spot that your husband likes to hang out so he can see it and appreciate it. Have a blessed week ☺

yes over the stairs or going up the stairs, but i think you will enjoy it more over the stairs. I love prints or paintings with old country roads (those dirt roads with a little cure to them), so sweet.

Love it all! My grandfather was German so I’m also very intrigued when I find antique German things! I don’t have much from my German heritage so I love finding those collectibles to incorporate into my decor. 😊

I’m from Wilmington & we lived in Southport/Oak Island for 6 yrs. It’s so cool to watch someone from so far away showing places that were my “go to” shops for yrs. Glad y’all had a good time. Everything looks great.

When you tried the painting in your sofa corner, it pulled together the darker tones of couch and lamp. So a moody painting would look really good there - but a slightly bigger one.

I think you should hang the Stuttgart tile in the nook over your stairs and move the oil painting the the stairway and add a couple more paintings there. I love seeing your finds!

Andrea, I would hang the scalloped ironstone platter with the other two, making a group of three, and I think the oil painting above the entry, three tier basket was a perfect spot, it will show up so well there for everyone to see! As for the little handmade pottery dish, I liked it in the first place you sat it!

Love your taste! And for some reason we always remember what we left behind but it's nice to see you use what you have. I would pop the tile out and use as a trivet for hot dishes on the table or store it standing up on the kitchen counter. Enjoy

Family is so important to have around, I wish I had my dad still with me. Isaiah is so cute playing with the cat and when I saw him going after the cat, I got so scared for him not to climb the stairs. That large baskets can be placed under the table, where the chalkboard is hanging. It doesn't really need to be on top of a table.

Hi, the Stuttgart tile would probably look nice in the front foyer wall next to the window going up the stairs, you could use the W.Germany coasters alongside the tile (W.Germany grouping). You could maybe find framed pictures of your husband's ancestors /or family to continue the theme going up the stairs. Thank you for including your son having fun with the cat. The oil painting (Dad's surprise) would look great going on the wall upstairs above the beam. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing your home and your decorating expertise. I just love your house and to see that wood on the ceiling of the bedroom upstairs, I swooned. Your kitchen is perfect. I love it all. I do think a picture wall next to your couch in the living room would be a lot more interesting than those wire baskets there now.

The stutgart tile would look nice in the kitchen. Maybe on the counter on a plate stand. It is dark and so is the counter. Trivet would be nice too, only if it does not get scratched.

Your home is so beautiful! I love your thrift finds. I think that the painting looks the best above the beam where the heart basket was upstairs . That scalloped dish looked great next to the wooden duck on side table, and that smaller basket might look great in your dining room on the bottom shelf of the little table ( it was behind you in the video as you were talking about it). What a great trip! Thank you for taking me along. Love the gifted books and where you put them. How about putting your new platter with the other 2? Lower the bottom one and center them? Until your rack gets built. Great idea! I have been wanting one too. I think above the beam is a perfect place for your new picture! Great way to greet your day as you “take the path” down stairs. Lovely video Andrea! I love the art above your staircase. You seemed to have loved it there the most as well…so that was a good indication that’s its home. Your son and kitty are so cute! You apologized for showing that adorable interaction on your video…never feel like that’s a burden on us. Most of us are mothers and know and love those sweet moments as well. My son is a freshman and my daughter is in 5th grade…so toddler conversations are a thing of that past that I miss so much. Thank you for sharing that with us. Love all of your finds!!

Your home looks lovely. The beautiful painting looked beautiful next to the window going up the stairs because of the light shining on the painting. It is a dark painting and on camera looking at it on my phone, I could see it better next to light place. If that makes sense. I live in Germany, my partner is German. 😅 I dont live the Stuttgart tile in the frame but I think it would make a great truvette to place a hot teapot on, in the kitchen. As you said, the tile would look better out the frame. Ir, you could use white chalk oaint to pant the frame and distress it abit to fit in with the athestic of your home. I am Italian and English, and love the white Italian dishes and can see them in a plate holder too. I thrift alot in Germany and jeep an eye out for Italian pottery and glass.
