fun fact: the actor for jotaro actually shaved the top of his head so the sides of his hair could perfectly contour around his hat to emulate the weird hair-hat merging thing
@Joel Roy I mean to be honest STANDS are the manifestation of the users' spiritual energy so it makes sense that they look transparent instead of looking opaque.
The point is that the hat is ripped at the back (i think) and so his hair starts poking out, but for this movie the actor basically shaved a bald patch on top to recreate the look more accurately
It’s like spot on with the anime/manga same sort of tone and story beats and they did the effects and costuming pretty damn good for how crazy it looks in source
Koichi is 5'2 which is just slightly under average height. I have no idea why he is essentially a dwarf in DIU manga and anime but it does make sense that he wouldnt be tiny in the live action
Long Story Short : DIU is Koichi Narrating the story from his perspective. He considers himself as "Not important" and "weak", hence why he sees everyone he respects / is afraid of as way taller than him. Also, while not shown in the anime, but in the manga, Kobayashi and Hazamada are quite tall (taller than Josuke if I remember) before shriekening to Koichi's height after they were beaten and became more cowardish.
I love that they added the hat fused with Jotaro’s head detail, the acting itself is a tad underwhelming but overall this seems like and enjoyable watch
tbh i cant imagine a live action movie based on an anime to be watchable. just look at goku live action movie. but what i appreciate about this is that you can tell they are trying and it wasnt that bad
so for those curious about the changes between the scenes for the animated and this, here's 2 i realized, There is no internal monologue about Jotaro being shocked that Josuke apologized. Jotaro asks Josuke about seeing "evil sprits" which isn't in the anime but a nice touch given how Part 3 Jotaro though Star Plat was a evil spirit.
the girls also called Josuke "JoJo" when in reality, in both the manga and anime, Josuke was only called JoJo *once* and that was by the people who tried to bully him
That would be very cursed on top of an already cursed proposition of this movie's existence. Viz Media and Warner Bros. didn't even try IMO, did neither company realize that this was a shit idea from the start? Why would anyone want to watch this with the anime adaption being realized simultaneously? I can only imagine what a live-action Yukakko with her hair or a live-action Kira with Killer Queen's explosions. Also, Koichi isn't petite.
Your name is Yoshikage Kira. You are 33 years old. You live in the Northeast section of Morioh, where all the villas are, and you are not married. You work as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and you get home everyday by 8pm at the latest. You don't smoke, but you occasionally drink. You're in bed by 11pm, and make sure you get eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, you usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, you wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. You were told there were no issues at your last check-up. You're trying to explain that you're a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. You take care not to truble yourself with enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause you to lose sleep at night. That is how you deal with society, and you know that is what brings you happiness. Although, if you were to fight you wouldn't lose to anyone.
@@Sir_GrimReaper purple sweater with green collar shirt underneath I mean. Honestly, the shows outfit looks like a cosplay, its bad. And maybe it because it's too dark to see details, but josukes looks good
Doctor: a comment that says "Doctor: Tall, black hair, and cross eyed Koichi doesn't exist. Tall , black hair, and cross eyed Koichi: 2:51" doesn't exist. A comment that says: "Doctor: Tall, black hair, and cross eyed Koichi doesn't exist. Tall , black hair, and cross eyed Koichi: 2:51":
Doctor:A Comment that Says “Doctor: A Comment that says “Doctor: Tall,Black Hair, and cross eye Koichi Doesn’t Exist” Doesn’t Exist” Doesn’t Exist YOU EXPECT THAT I WOULD CONTINUE THE COMMENT, BUT IT WAS ME, DIO!
Well i kinda like the timestop effect even though it's more quicker than the anime. But at least it gives me a feeling of what it's like when i time stop since from some stand quiz i got the world
He would have survived part 6 if he had come to a sudden realisation that Made in Heaven was the same type of stand as Star Platinum. Hell he could have defeated the boss by unleashing Star Platinum Requiem at that rate
Honestly I think they did the best possible job adapting jojo into live action. A lot of people thought it wasn’t even able to be adapted into an ANIME let alone a live action film
@@SyenPie Things like time-stop. When DIO claims that he can stop time for 9 seconds and the anime shows that its been stopped for 30 you feel like there is an error in writing/pacing. Rather in the manga this type of problem is non-existent because people interpret how fast those scenes play out differently.
@@dannyboots Even still, there are plenty of times in the movie where Crazy Diamond, The Hand, Star Platinum, Echoes, Bad Company, Sheer Heart Attack, and Aqua Necklace are sitting still to see that they pretty much nailed the designs.
The fact that these girls call Josuke "Jojo-senpai" gave me so much serotonin. It made me sad that Josuke was only called Jojo once by a bunch of bullies.
It'd be better if they did stardust crusaders live action first, that dio v jotaro fight would be the most amazing and orgasmic cinema, my balls would eject a load comparable to both atom bombs dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima.
The way Josuke gets over the initial shock of being an uncle at sixteen and having a nephew who’s thirteen years older than him so fast always cracks me up.
The actors got smile lines. So when he has a straight face(like Jotaro) he still looks like he smiling. Edit: Also he like fish. There are a lot of fish around Japan. So, therefore, happy edgy boi
I will die on the hill that this adaption was unironically fantastic. And a lot of it is owed to the fact that the characters acts and talk in a way that's much more realistic, which makes instances like Josuke's leaning stand out as fun moments like in the anime.
At 2:20 I love how he says that "evil spirits" remember part 3 jotaro says he will stay in jail because of his "evil spirit" I thought that was a cool touch
On a semi-related note: I LOVE how they made the stands look. Really puts into perspective the fact that they're not really solid entities because they can phase through walls n shit like Jotaro did on the "Strength Ship" but at the same time can interact with physical objects. Tbh that's a nice touch. Instead of just making them physically solid or giving them an aura, their bodies ARE the aura which is fuckin' BADASS. It's like, if Super Saiyan was a person instead of a form of energy/transformation.
For an anime that would be pretty hard to get in live-action, they did a pretty damn fine job. Shame this bombed at the box office, it would have been nice to see some sequels.
I actually like how everything looks, I thought this would be cringeworthy but its surprisingly satisfying and sort of accurate, it does a really good job of portraying how the events would go in a somewhat realistic setting
Kotencja Movies i don’t care what critics say, I want to see this movie regardless lol. It looks pretty cool to me, obviously the show will always be God Tier but it never hurts to get a good live action; Specially if it’s done right :”)
@@pissedoffturtle7333 I think he meant 40 year old jotaro for stone ocean

2:53 That's a nice touch from Jotaro's actor. He first looked at the surprised Josuke's classmates, then realized something was off, then to Josuke. Holy corpse, the stands look awesome!
Man if they made a movie, the characters should’ve been actors from different countries like britain or japan, since Jotaro is half british and half japanese.
@@ember5935 not really. Ill tell you why. The anime draws character looking japanese. Which means making them japanese would look the best for a live action anime. Whatever though, its a good idea though!
