Little update - *update to the update* - Jojo actually never claimed to have written the song. the was seen in a video, before performing the song saying "This song is about my ex" and that led people to assume she was claiming she wrote it. this led to articles being released with the misinformation being published. Jojo when asked about the original song, claimed to not know Britt Smith who sang the original song.… well karma really is a bitch because As of Monday afternoon, Smith’s recording of the song (released under the title “Karma’s a Bitch”) ranks No. 8 on the U.S. iTunes pop charts, while Siwa’s “Karma” is No. 89.
And I hope that's the level of "bad" she remains. Because actually being bad and chaotic is so sad. I'd like to see her have her own reality show like "The Simple Life" but she goes from small town to small town offering to choreograph local plays. Like Waiting for Guffman. I'd watch that.😂
It's like getting a Labrador a skull hoodie. It's still a Labrador. Still good doggo who'll want being tucked into their blankets at night (yes that's my boy in the profile pick. He's 12 now and a very good boy)
It deeply upset me when someone said to her that her makeup was very Gene Simmons inspired and she didn’t know who that was despite totally ripping off Kiss makeup 🤦🏼♀️
I think it was actually kind of her to announce that her new stuff wasn't going to be safe for children. Most child friendly artists who make the switch don't do that. Robert is right here, but the warnings for parents to not let their kids listen to the new stuff was pretty nice of her.
I mean, she cut her hair a year or two ago so as not to have her iconic ponytail and look more grown up and talked about being a lesbian, but I guess that wasn't enough. because people were calling her fake and shit.
@@nathaliechenault5805yeah a warning and heads up for her fans that her new content is not for kids that’s great. But she made a huge over the top deal about it😅😂 And it’s not even a great look or video it’s just ugly. Half ass and very copy paste of other artists. She needs to find her own thing and get off the internet for a while.😅
Her "rebrand" just looks like a 13-year-old trying to convince their parents that "they're not a kid anymore" by wearing all black clothes and screaming that they are an adult now...
Honestly, I think the biggest reason her rebrand is failing (and I cannot even critique this) is that she actually looks her age. When these pop stars rebrand, they suddenly go from 16 to 26. And in an industry where the teenagers now look like they’re in their mid 20’s, Jojo looks like her actual age, and so the transition isn’t noticeable.
My secondhand embarrassment has been getting so bad with Jojo that I am gonna have to stop following the drama. I want to crawl out of my skin when she talks about how cool she thinks she is.
Abbey tried to.. But everyone said abbey was being “too mean” Jojo didn’t deserve to be screamed at all the time but Abbey’s words were definitely needed for her to hear.. 💯
My roommate and I were discussing this, and we genuinely believe she could have successfully rebranded herself if she’d: dyed her hair darker, gotten extensions and worn her hair down, a little smokey eye, and baggy street wear. Because she’s still wearing the typical, kind of tight, dance wear. Sparkly clothing, OTT accessorising, she’s still doing the same stage style makeup, and still doing a very scraped back hairstyle (but with a faux hawk). Cropping her hair short before did more for rebranding her temporarily, than her current look.
I think it was Chappal Roan that said this but hair can make or break someone’s brand, and if you think about it it’s SO true. So your hair comments were spot on.
This is exactly what a 50 year old controlling stage mom would think was "rebellious." I'm sure coincidentally. Watching the desperation on Jojo's face while she tells her employees she's "becoming an adult" is REALLLLY sad.
Her re-brand is what my sequin obsessed boomer dance teacher in the 00’s would have had us wear if we were performing a dance to a really rebellious song, like Avril Lavigne or something.
It literally shows what happens when a child is forced into the dance mums culture, abused and kept in a controlled environment by two insane adults. She was treated like an animal in a circus and made to perform on command.. you can see all the implications and outcome that it has had… I mean what did they expect would happen? This happens. It’s not even her fault… she has had no choice really because she was psychologically coached, ‘created’’ and programmed this way. Her wardrobe choices are obviously brought about by the dance outfits and costumes she was made to wear. We all know and have seen what those competitions are about and the clothes they wear… the whole vibe of it seems to have developed into what we see today. All of her look, and attitude stems from the abuse and culture of these competitions and dance life! . It’s obvious the trauma and pain she has suffered has developed into this. It feels like the people working for her have probably been with her for the whole journey and also come from the dance world and are in some way emotionally and developmentally stunted without much input from the outside world. Even the ‘new’ song, I realised has been taken on as if it is a performance in a dance competition by her and her ‘team’. Everything seems to be approached from the standpoint of her dance coaches, and management as if they are in the child dance comp scene and know nothing else, and have used the same methodology to take on everything in life from this way. Her ‘team’ or management probably found the sound and time her and she loved it, and they then pitched the idea to her.. I mean it does just seem like this is the approach taken and the effect it has when someone has limited exposure to the outside world and spend most of their time being coach by a couple of individuals with extreme beliefs. In dance comps they use a song that’s not their own and adorn themselves with over the top sparkly outfits and then perform, screamed at to be smiling and and put on a fake persons and attitude to mask their true self.. to me it all just makes sense as you can see on every level that this, right here is the result of that, what she grew up in and was trained to do. The only people to be blamed are her mum and dance teacher, and guardians because they had the control over har developing mind. Peoples lives are kind of like an equation, of DNA (environment) + experiences + environment = result or person you see here today. The most important years in which this occurs and the developmental years , which is when they are programmed and construct their belief system, based upon this equation . They are constantly growing and taking in all the input around them, in turn developing themselves according to the genes and influences they are around every day. This programming of an adult or child occurs from about 2-7, and is the most crucial period in their lives,. That’s why so much emphasis is put on the importance of providing a nourishing, healthy, morally and ethically sound environment in which to raise kids.l as they cannot leave or chose otherwise until they are of age . I hope this makes sense as I’m struggling with my words today, but what this girl needs is some people that can guide her away from that lifestyle she was raised in, and intense therapy in order to be rehabilitated or ‘released’ back into society because she knows nothing else from a healthy standpoint! Remember anything she experiences now she will only see with the eyes of the child experiences and teaching for all those years that she has had. She was isolated so much from other peers or anyone outside of that life. Those believes that she knows developed during the most formative years of her life! She’s acting pretty much as you would expect when you look at her l life
It's ironic that she thinks her new image is so mature but it's like a child's idea of what being a serious grown-up looks like. Same energy as a little girl wobbling around in her mom's high heels. Except not cute. Edit: I wrote this before I finished the video and Robert had the same thought 😂 Guess we're on the same wavelength!
Her rebrand was the equivalent of that old meme with the lady like "I'm gonna do something xrazy, I'm gonna dip my burrito in the nacho cheese"... "Crazy... You're crazy girl", that's what this rebrand gave, less than nothing and also somehow dated to the point it instantly took me backwards in time lol. The look too, it's giving Hot Topic, try hard edgy from like 2006 somehow.
I think Jojo grew up in that "Kidz Bop yet cutthroat" type of reality for so long that she sees life like those Disney/Nickelodeon kid shows. There's a weird mix of immaturity with exploitation going on with her decisions.
Good take. Honestly even though the whole thing is cringy AF, I feel sympathy for her, being forced to be famous as a child is so sad, it really can mess you up.
@@Kif_Leebeing a child star only messes up the child if the adults around are abusive most children like Jojo thrive in those environments because of their personalities what are you even talking about
I think she would have made more of a "dramatic entry into adulthood" or whatever she tried to do if she had just said nothing and turned up to the event in a tailored suit or something like that.
JoJo is almost exactly a year older then me by about 5 days. I always feel weird when I remember that. Her rebrand has the same feeling as a 13 year old that thinks they’re edgy. This seems more like poor PR as an attempt to distract from Pop OMG.
I honestly feel kinda bad for her. I mean I'm not her therapist but that kid must have some fairly hefty trauma coming from her upbringing, and this was probably inevitable. I just hope in 10 years time she's just looking back on this with embarrassment and not sitting in a rehab somewhere
The fact that her mom would wake her up as a toddler late at night to perform for her parent’s friends just says it all about the environment she was raised in. Plus Dance moms didn’t help at all
The sad thing is she’s been traumatizing kids herself lately. XOMG Pop! Those stories are awful. And a lot of the people she surrounds herself with are awful, too. She needs to really take a step back and reflect on some things.
@@bagandbroadExactly what you said. Yes, she is probably messed up from being a child star, but in the here and now, she is a horrible, horrible person to CHILDREN.
I was homeschooled and most of us didn’t have social anxiety because we didn’t get the chance to get bullied. Idk where you got your statistics but homeschooled people out score public school in everything from social settings to academia. Because home schoolers have to take the same state test as public schools but we had to score higher. In TN public school kids could score like 17 and we had to score 22. We also did most of our classes online in a hybrid setting just like it was during Covid. I hate when people run with narratives because it seems like the ‘common sense’ answer. Home schooled kids are usually much more comfortable with themselves than public school kids because they get to develop in their own time instead of being rushed into social norms. They also tend to marry later, not have kids until after marriage, graduate highschool and college early. And tend to more mature. It’s reversed. Homeschooled kids identify more with themselves. She’s definitely giving public school reject. When I got my first job, the kids couldn’t even count back change.. and didn’t know how to deal with customers. It’s the lack of concern with what others think because your adolescence wasn’t filled with unsolicited opinions and comparison. What’s this is is BILLIE EILISH, ARIANA GRANDE, MILEY CYRUS let be a little black and a little white at the same time for shock value sales! The typical mediocre WW move to fame.
@@TheBaddieCartelBlogi think what we think about home schooled children has nothing to do with their intelligence or any of what you mentioned--its actually how they interact with others in their age group
“Child star who wears black and has terrible face paint” baaahhahahaaa 😂😂 that made me laugh out loud 😆 I am a KISS fan and completely agree with you about their makeup! Most interesting segment of this video was you assessing the makeup and how well it is done 😊 Love you and your content. Have a fantastic rest of your week. Hugs! 💜🖤
Not done watching your video yet, but I LOVE your notes when you’re picking apart the makeup. So insightful, such hair-splitting detail, so innocently petty. Just delightful.
It’s always seemed to me that she was playing a “part.” Her overly childlike, crazy style, hair bows, high ponytail. It all seemed like an act to me. This also still seems like a kid playing a pet or pretend. I think she has been in the spotlight from such a young age from starting on that dance moms show, to having a RU-vid channel, having merchandise and events catered to kids, her perception of herself and who she is without putting in a show is warped. She is constantly “in character” and is trying to put on a show.
Or Elton John, George Michael, Janelle Monae, Lil Nas X, David Bowie, Freddie Mercury, Boy George, The Village People... Or any of the other million artists.
I feel bad for her cause although she is a grown up she grew up in a bubble, and she’s still very childish and this is so cringe. And we all had our cringe moments (this is another level of course) but we didn’t have to go thru them in the public eye, with only yes people around us. This is painful to watch 😢
Dang Robert you are everywhere! Lol you have a makeup channel , reaction channel , the Welsch twins channel , and the double cleanse podcast! 😂❤I love it.
I am absolutely fascinated by her rebrand attempt, because to me it has the exact same energy as a 2004 DeviantART self-insert Winx Club OC that's just a mall goth recolor of a canon character
the fact that she thinks this has never been done before (i got this from some of her interviews) and how she said shes the first queer person to do the things she does is wild!
I guess move over Elton john...smh. These kids or young immature adults need to stop. They are so used to people hyping them up, kissing their ass and telling them they're special 😂😬🫣
She doesnt actually believe that, but if she pretends she does maybe she can convince her child audience that its true because they dont know any better. She knows what she's doing, shes only like 2 years younger than me.
@@zyqa wouldn't that hurt the LGBTQ+ community though to not know the real history and icons who have moved the world forward? To not have those individuals acknowledged? I guess I'm just shocked JS would even do that considering how important it is to remember and respect the history and people who allow her to even be able to do what she does.
Though one thing I saw another creator comment on - this influx of totally cringeworthy “rebrand” content is actually a ploy to distract from the allegations of her being essentially abusive to children on her “making the next pop group of children” show. If everyone is talking about how ridiculous Jojo is, and still pointing out how she’s not actually changing her “innocent” image, then they’re not talking about her being a monster
@meganrae2508 oh for sure! Eventhough this is absolutely cringe, like most of her interviews regarding the topic, she has done some vile things. It doesn't really surprise me, considering she openly defended some creeps before, but we must not forget that she's not only cringe but overall a bad person with fucked up morals.
Didn’t expect Robert to say that about Kiss’ makeup 😂❤ I love how you give critique about topics, you shit on it, politely ✨ 😆 you give excellent points in a respectful way ❤from Wisconsin
It’s so awkward that she feels like she needs to announce her….evolution? Like, change is fine just do it. It doesn’t have to be this whole ordeal. Plenty of artists change. We all change! It just feels disingenuous and cringey. I don’t care what she wants her “brand” to be, I just want her to be safe, kind, happy and authentic.
She literally doesn't understand what authentic means and has no incentive to learn. This is why so many child stars crash. Because once you become an adult, that fake turns into cringe. Kids it up. Because they're kids...its going to be a train wreck while she tells herself she's refusing to be a train wreck.
I forgot who it was but someone posted a video showing the exact temporary tattoo pack that she had on her arms. Whatever vendor or store she used, they came in packs of 10 with various designs and the girl who posted put up the exact pack. 😂
She's just using this as a distraction for the way she treated those kids on her own dance show! Really abusive and nasty stuff. Look it up if you don't know what I'm talking about. She's trying to wash out all those allegations and news reports with this "new image". Hide it. Really manipulative and super disturbing to see that her plan is actually working...😐
Her maturity froze when she went on that tv show. It’s sad but also, it’s another situation where no one was honest with the breadwinner. Gene Simmons meets Alice Cooper dragged through a Claire’s Boutique garden.
@Robert_Reacts . . This is the first video of yours Ive ever seen. I can barely focus on the JoJo BS because I cant keep my eyes off of your SKIN!! Your skin is beautiful! ! . . . Thank you for your videos! I cant wait to watch more ♥
She also made points to swear more and try and drop f-bombs. As if that makes her "mature" , "adult", and "not for the children"....Kids on the school bus in middle school & elementary swear more than adults in their workplace tbh. And I work in a mechanic shop with those "dirty mechanics" everyone talks about, and they don't swear as much as kids do lol.
When Robert said “she’s also known for her really slicked back hair” I heard “her really sick back hair” and I thought how have I learned everything about this girl against my will but never heard about her crazy back hair before???
The black rope like makeup going up from her chest to her chin... it reminded me of Season 1 of Stranger Things when the nasty stuff that grows in the upside down is going into Will's mouth 🤢
Oh my goodness. This is my first time seeing one of your videos and I’m already in love with you. 🤣 You have the perfect amount of snark. Now to binge your videos…
