Enable the subtitles for the english version.
Since June 2015 the 1993 OVA was the only way to watch this epic fight. When the anime came out some people complained about the stiff and cheap animations and stated that the OVA was way better.
I personally love JoJo. I love the manga, I love the anime and I love the OVA, every media is good in its special way: the manga is awesome and artistic and the anime is an almost perfect adaptation to it. While the OVA is darker and made some changes to the plot and the art, it's still a great piece of animation, so I decided to take the most epic part of it (the final fight between Jotaro and DIO) and combine it with the best (in my opinion) thing in the 2015 anime version: the voice acting.
I just LOVE Thakeito Koyasu's voice, it fits perfectly with the over-the-top personality of DIO.
I had a lot of fun editing this video and I hope you will have a good time watching it.

I think they get less buff over the generations because the first two had to rely on hamon and physical strength. The new ones are stand users, so they have less to rely on. They don't do much hand work since their stand can help. Polnareff said he trained, Jotaro probably did but didn't know, and Joseph relied on strength and hamon. Not much is given about Mr. K. N. Donut, Avdol, or Iggy.

It''s not that they were just doing whatever they felt like, the point was to be a more horror-influenced take on JoJo. That and it would be impossible with the technology at the time to make animation that resembles Araki's artstyle.

I think my favorite part of the OVA is how long the heartbeat scene is. It makes you really uncomfortable knowing that Jotaro's stopping his heart (in the OVA it's devoid of music, which makes it even more uncomfortable).

The way Dio in the ova was throwing yachts and cars around casually without using his stand nails home how strong he was. Dio in the ova when awakened was at least 50-60% his peak.

I can't believe no one is going to point out how Polnareff in the "stopped heart" scene was treated better here than in the anime. He and Jotaro worked off each other so well to deliver that WOMBO COMBO straight to Dio, that I wish they kept that in the Anime instead of bitch slapping Polnareff aside and unnecessarily stretching out the scene.

It's some great visual story telling where each part of the scene further escalates until it reaches a climax. Jotaro is stuck waiting for an opportunity that frankly won't come (Without help) Polnareff gives that help with a sneak attack on Dio while he's focused on Jotaro The blood splatter snaps Jotato back from to reality but Dio is too shocked about Vanilla Ice's death to notice until it's too late. Jotaro gets the one punch he was trying to get the entire fight. At this point in the story Polnareff has matured and is carrying both Iggy and Avdol's death on his sleeve. Seeing his attack not contribute in a meaningful way is just a poor story telling choice that was a welcome change in the OVA. The source material, in this case, the manga. Should not be absolute and in most cases, minor alterations often improve the source material when creators are given the free range to adjust. Much like the OVAs changes.

@@maestrofeli4259 He didn't! Dio even says *"Polnareff?! Vanilla Ice was defeated?!"* That reaction alone is pretty satisfying. Its a subtle way of showing how trusting Dio was of Vanilla Ice and how much of a threat he suddenly realizes Polnareff really is.

5:09 I’m glad the OVA actually showed how they were “flying” as many people think they were. I really don’t know why the anime didn’t show this. (Well the anime did, but it was too subtle). I love the anime with all my heart, but the level of expressions and actions felt so much more human to me in the OVA. Seeing DIO acting like a beast by killing those innocent people and seeing Jotaro's expressions full of panic and fear makes the whole thing so much intense, and the level of detail they put on the expressions and the whole fight is brutal.

This OVA had so many good Ideas to improve the fight like extending it with more dynamic uses of their surroundings, or Dio's threatening aura but unfortunately it didn't have the dub to make up for the visuals, it tried to transform Araki's vision into something simpler to digest, sacrificing a lot of soul and most importantly, it missed THE ROAD ROLLER >:C

Jotaro channelled Star Platinum inside of him, that's why he can leap high and punch strong. DIO on the other hand, is a superhuman vampire with Jonathan's body so he can punch buildings to bits with ease.

I like the OVA's darker colour palette; it gives a more dangerous feel. Too bad there's no full version of OVA with modern voices & music, that would be friggin amazing. Glad we have this at least.

I love the fact, they add details to this Characters not suddenly flying, but jumping up Dio torn off his ripped jacket Polnareff ripped his headpatch DIO noticibly became bigger, as would Jonathan look, after he got Joseph's blood, and as people mentioned, it looks more dark, Dio more often uses his own vampire power, that shows just HOW ACTUALLY strong he is, and not just stand alone.. this show that there was really something to be afraid of, not just being scared cuz dude teleport only We really need rematsered version of this, with 2015 music, new voice actors (like 2015 ones used here, or better English ones) and improved sound effects of course And I promise, this will be just something perfect, the art style itself is something! Especially when looking at part 1 cut scenes, it's even darker! Showing how badass was Jonathan and what actually Dio was
