This is Joka's best tournament run so far by beating every Pakistani competitors and beats Knee as well. He's good with mishimas. Ahsan did played well. He deserve a sponsor.
@captaintacosauce3220 I think skills still transfer between the two games. This one being more aggressive doesn't instantly nullify Arslan and Knee's years of experience with Tekken. Specifically with Knee, being good at Tekken 5 did not suddenly make him bad at Tekken 6 onwards.
@captaintacosauce3220Even Knee isnt as good as he was in like T5 prime, but ppl still find it very impressive to beat him. Just bc a game evolved doesnt mean their skills also reset. Its the same fundamentals of the game.
Actually no, in this game both knee and arslan and players like them got nerfed heavily, because of how tekken 8 works. The game is really bad when it comes to defensive playstyle so players like knee or arslan who relies heavily on defensive playstyle having difficult time and will need time to adapt. Not saying that joka didn't play well because he did. But what do you think will happen if they play tekken 7 right now, who has more chances of winning arslan vs joka or knee vs joka?
pretty sure he was the first ever GoD with Reina. Joka is not joke at all, he is an amazing player, and the thing is, he is a very versatile player with plenty of GoDs right now. bro is an actual Jack of all Trades.
Yagami from Australia was the first GoD with Reina, but I know that Joka got it very very early on as well. Pulling the Reina out against was such a great choice though because it completely shifted the game, Ahsan had a lot more control against Feng and when Joka picked Reina the tone of the match was a 180, now she's the one dictating the pace of the match
FT3 is of course better, but it's a huge issue when you have hundreds (or thousands) of people in pools due to time. This event was fine because it's invitational with a set number of planned players.
Agreed. I see a few people saying that Reina is easy to use by spamming ff2, not knowing that it can be countered fairly easily and it's quite risky if u cannot judge the distance and timing of the ff2
He knew the matchup but he couldn't adapt faster Ahsan made a lot of comebacks in the tournament. T8 is weird cuz rounds can end in less than 15 seconds. T8 is not fun to watch than T7 in my opinion.
Agreed! I mean yeah doing power crush on FF2 on block sentai mixup is kind’ve risky, but he didn’t go for it a single time. Was ducking for no reason against Reina seeing as how Joka barely did unblockable grabs and only did one hellsweep the entire set. Doing quick stand up against sentai grab is usually a bad idea since its a setup for FF2. He let Reina do F2, 3 into sentai without checking her. He wasn’t really stepping after blocking Reina’s F4 and even let Joka do it back to back a couple of times. Either he doesn’t know the matchup well or he just played poorly against her that day.
yes what you say at the end i also feel like it, the last tournament was a real snooze fest and i really lost hoped. But this WAS NUTS so many hype and tense moments again and holy moly EU won
I dont think people understand how insanely good the production is. In Pakistani, we have almost never had proper gaming events at all. So this is amazing, I am so happy!!!
Joka got to use ff2 quite freely. No punish for unsafe mids, no ducks, no jab floats or power crush (heat engager on shaheen), etc. Joka had great ff2 timing, but it felt a bit like his opponent was not prepared for the matchup when ff2 was blocked.
Yeah matchup knowledge as well as confidence makes a huge difference. Sometimes disrespecting your opponents offense is a good mental reversal if it works a few times. As a Yoshi main I just flash Reinas all day trying to run up on me and usually they crumple because they can't run their offense anymore.
That was sweaty ngl but Reina pick was more strategic rather than optimal, I feel, though we can see that ff2 needs some retweaks. I watched how Joka played Reina before and it's completely different from what he did here, still congrats to him, he basically was on an opponent's territory and still won.
It's crazy that thr number one feng in the world, playing Feng on the winners side of Grand finals is considered an underdog against a shaheen player. The power of the middle east.
I cannot seem to break out of Garyu with this character despite everyone putting her at the top of tier lists lmfao I guess that's what happens when your carried by Lei Wulong for several years😅
Knee is not above Arslan. Arslan was third in this tourno, knee Didn't even make Finals Top 5 best players atm: Joka >> Chikurin >> Ahsan >> Arslan >> Lowhigh and then the rest
I know devs will look at the current meta and say Nerfs. But even post Nerfs Drag Feng Azucena are showing up everywhere. The low tiers need actual buffs not just bug fixes or unintended behaviour. Like give Steve his Ch launchers back along with his combo damage and wall carry. Same with Zafina's movement and neutral poking. Give the low tiers something to compete with these busted POS
