The Joker is a villain based on chaos and insanity. For some reason, real-world media have decided to brand this film as a symbol of hated or despicable ideologies... and this choice, whether conscious or not, has helped the Joker enact a semblance of real-world influence on obsessed and frantic journalists.
The film did not NEED to be this way, and in reality, it is closer to an analysis of mental health and the need for societal kindness... but by forcing it to represent what they hate, the media has created a self-defeating scenario where they MUST now scream into the void as it is nominated and praised.

Upper Echelon Gamers I enjoyed the video and what you had to say however I do believe that some of the wording could’ve been better. All the articles you showed were opinion pieces, written sometimes/often by people with no expertise in a subject, it’s how editorials work. So instead of holding up “the media” as the bad guy here, maybe hold up “poorly informed writers” or certain sects of writers instead of the media as a whole

He is caretaker for his mum but in 50 years he never knew she is pathological liar and abused him as kid, mkay C. All his murders are completely random, as to point B, he watched religiously the Deniro character on TV but never knew he is dick, untill personally being mocked...lol D. How did he pull gun out and aimed at someones head while being kicked and beaten on the ground. E. the revolution theme si so incredibly pointless becuase Joker have literally 0 role in it, he killed people who he doesnt like for some weird reasons, not because class. F. Its pretty boring, there is no big story arch that would need telling. Just a psycho got a gun, shoot people and somehow ppl like him?

@@Enkabard I think that's the point, the "everyone is awful" no one knew who he really was, what he was going through but the people took him as an icon for the revolution, the higher class despised him, he didn't murder many people, the few that he did he had clear reasons for doing so, so you must have slept through that, he didn't knew that Murray was a dick because he was never targeted, it just goes on to show that he is also awful, it is all very funny until you get mocked and ridiculed as well, there never is any point in character progression with joker, we all know who he is and what he will be in the end, still it's a good depction of his descent into madness. They don't show him pulling the gun just to make it unexpected, it is unlikely that the guys beating him wouldn't notice but not impossible.

It's a song that talks about how important is to have an opinion, regardless of anything, and how it is worth fighting for the right of having an opinion. Shy Shinoda since the first newspaper was printed the media had been trying to control what people think about and how they think about it. They can’t stand when public opinion doesn’t match their agenda. To the point where they no longer accept other perspectives and anyone who doesn’t agree is flat out wrong. This is, at its essence, what 1984 was trying to convey. Where media is no longer about unbiased facts but about a right and a wrong opinion.

I really don’t think masculinity is something to be praised either, just like femininity. It’s a state of being. Who cares? I’d rather people just act the way they want to act and not try too hard to be something they are not. I always thing it’s incredibly annoying when I have to work with a guy that wears excessive amounts of plaid, has a ridiculously sized beard (untrimmed), and drives a truck that takes up half the road. It’s like, I get it, you want to be manly, so much that you definitely look like you are compensating for something else.

I don't think it's a movie that deserves 11 nominations but the media inspired attempts at mass panic was nothing short of disgraceful and in a rational world should have lead to outlets losing broadcasting/publishing licenses.

Somehow I missed all the hype and hysteria. Like, I knew it was coming out and I did want to see it, but beyond that I knew nothing of it, I think all I'd seen was the teaser trailer or something, maybe the full length trailer. Then I forgot about it, didn't watch any new movies for months... Then one night couldn't sleep, and my buddy was there and we got on the topic and I was like man I haven't seen it! Rented it on RU-vid, found it to be an awesome film, loved it. Only when I went to learn more about it and see some like reviews/analysis, did I realize it was being associated with racist white incel gamers, lmfaoooo, like NOTHING in the movie once evoked any of those thoughts to me... But I guess I am one of them (well, not an incel, I get laid and like women, oh wait and not a racist LMFAO wtf... k so I'm a white gamer nevermind)..

Answer was as adequate as can be. I can say I liked the movie. Can I say I'd buy it and watch it multiple times a year? I'm not too sure. In my opinion, it's slightly overhyped as far as the people that loved and continue to defend it. At some point, each opposing side needs to calm down about their opinions. Because in the end, EVERYONE is entitled to their own opinion. So I respect yours as much as I can.

Everyone: Don't run with scissors. This guy: *Runs with a couple of swords* Edit: I saw the movie a little while ago, so sorry if I get the timeline a little wrong. Joker goes through the 5 stages of Grief during the movie... But because he's... "a troubled individual" (?), he's not following the "correct order". The five stages are (in order): Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, Acceptance. *(Spoilers, duh)* The movie starts on it's head, with Acceptance. It start off, he has a job, a bad job, but a crap job, he's not living "the life" by any means.. but he's doing okay, he's going to the psy and all.. Then he loses is job, and enters the Depression stage. (But adding Depression, on top of whatever other issues he has...) Then his mom talk about the Waynes, and he enters the Bargaining phase. Then he sees his mom's files, he goes HARD on denial from there. Then... well.. I think Anger is the right word to describe how to movie ends. Or something along those lines.. Yeah I know.. I'm probably looking too much into things.

I didn't mind the entire thing about The Joker is he is off his rocker. Plus I did like how the film was setting up the rioters to be foundation for Joker's gang in latter years. I fell it is important to explain to give a reason why people would want to work Joker who would kill them on the spot because he felt like it. Besides Joker isn't generally depicted as a guy who incredibly smart but rather his main advantage is being unpredictable.

I feel I'd be bias by saying it deserves Best Picture too but I'm leaning that way. As a journalist who never hopped on the hate for the film, I'm proud to see it nominated so much. It was a piece of art and Captain Marvel was not half as good.
