@@scattysafari7742 I remember. His late brother was talented as hell too. If he hadn't died, he would've been a marvelous actor as well. Guess talent runs in the family.
1:14 when your mom forces you to let your little brother play the Xbox with you. but you know that your just gonna give him a disconnected controler so he thinks he's playing
This looks like one of those Taxi Driver-esque slow declines into insanity instead of one of those outright action flicks. I’m down to see how they do it specially when Joaquin Phoenix has finally got a chance to play the one of the most revered villians in pop culture.
Hi, yes, he is a cool dad. But I wouldn't watch this kind of movie/trailer with so young kids. Sadly I see a lot of adults who does that - I don't get why.
@@deadpool2638 True I have to wait until the 4th of October to make a decision though but I think he has at least an Oscar coming his way but we'll see
Jesus i really hated his guts as Commodore, and that is a true sign of GREAT acting in my opinion. Making you really feel something. He is going to bring the "Joker Act" to a brand new level.
preziveoklot But whenever he plays a villain, there’s always an element of tragedy to the character, so you can understand why they are as they are/behave as they do, and you can, to an extent, empathise with their actions. He brings such nuance and authenticity and life to every project he works on. His characters are never bland or flat and it’s a joy to watch
It touches a deep wound in us all, and that really hurts. Being hurt by others so much where all you can imagine to do is hurt others so much, he tries to love everybody, but nobody loves him, so what if he showed them hate instead.
Martin Scorsese has is executive producing and Todd has definitely taken notes from Taxi Driver, making New York a character. The whole film looks beautiful.
This is the exact reason why I don't like Ledger's Joker as much as the others (except Leto, he sucks). The big part of his character isn't only the one bad day aspect and the ensuing anarchy, but the comedy of it, the joke and the punchline at the end when you finally die. That's why I have high hopes for this movie.
What's incredible is that the movie absolutely lived up to the trailer... The movie was tremendous and the trailer was amazing and thats very hard to do nowadays
Different origins have different stories. The joker is brilliant because there's multiple different reasons why he is what he is but not many know the truth. Read the comics one differ from the other in terms of origins. But yes I do believe the killing joke, joker, started as a failed comic. Which this character seems to be stylized after
There actually is more no particular origin in comics . In comics he said "If I had to have a past , it should be of multiple choice" (not exact words) The recent IGN review said that this movie embraces this idea and viewer will have a free will to decide what was imagined and what was real . This made me even more excited .
One of the best reaction vids I've seen for this movie. The awestruck and emotional expressions on your faces throughout was great to see and I also enjoyed the thoughts you all shared afterward too. Keep up the good work! PS: I've subbed and look forward to seeing more from you.
Girl with the blue sweatshirt...if you say you are a fan...you ought to know more about the joker and of course "the scars" was just a thing that ledger made up in the dark knight movie.
T H A N K Y O U. Not trying to start a xeno fight. I'm American, I like my country, I like the U.K. also, but I've been so disappointed with some of these American reactions to this amazing trailer. Most of these said reactions are "it looks weird, yea.. really weird" or "huh.. I don't get it.." or "I guess it looks interesting, it is really weird". My reaction was much like y'alls. I've watched this beautiful and perfect trailer probably 20 times. It just blows my mind how many of these other reactors are totally missing the brilliance of this trailer, the music, the acting, the editing, the lighting, the framing, everything about it. For the love of God I haven't heard one person know the name Jimmy Durante, they're like "the songs kinda nice, it says smiling, like the Joker smiles.. that's cool". Sorry for the rant, great reaction, you got a new subscriber. ps. I'm in my late 20s and even I know who Jimmy freakin Durante is! Lol.
@Homeless this isn't about your inferiority complex. I'm not smart, look at my grammar and use of punctuation. Lol. The simple fact is it doesn't take a macanic or engineer to notice the artistic and technological difference/superiority between a 20-30k car vs a 200-300k car. Ok knowing who Jimmy Durante isn't necessary but it's sad a few of these people who are 30+ don't know one of the most iconic and influential singers.
@Homeless fuck me? You wanna get all technical, you said I was talking about EVERYONE. I was originally talking about a handful of YT reactors.. then you came getting all defensive when it literally had zero to do with you. I was talking to you, so yeah, your inferiority complex fits. You're the one taking offense. Calm down and mind your manners, bitch. 🙄
AMAZING reactions and dialogue. This movie looks quite intriguing - Very interesting. It looks perfecting filmed/shot - That old school look it has is regal. This might just end up being a masterpiece...
>Be girl on the left >No one can top Heath Ledger >Watches trailer >Slow falls in love with Joaquin Phoenix >My new favorite Joker before I've seen the film You needn't worry. I am also that girl, so I just smile.
Written in Arthur Fleck's notebook while developing jokes (toward the beginning of the trailer): "The worst part of having a mental illness is that people expect you to behave as if you DON'T"
Joaquin Phoenix was the GREATEST Joker! Lots of respect to Jack Nicolson, but Joaquin performed what I call THE GREATEST ACTING PERFORMANCE of ALLTIME! That's My opinion.
LOOKING THIN as he does will make him win a golden globe or an Oscar definitely. PLUS he is Joaquin Phoenix an Oscar winner already. If he is more villainous than Heath Ledger he will be remembered as the best JOKER EVER!!! THAT LAST SHOT THOUGH.
I cant think of a single version of the joker in comic books that had tye chelsea smile like ledger. I believe they added that. There is, however, a joker that stapled his rotting cut off face back over tge exposed meat of his face. I think hell be a great joker. I think its unfair (but expected) to compare him to ledgers. I think his iteration will be wholly different but equally as good, lol.
At the beginning we see him trudging up those steps, traumatized, no confidence, slouching...he's trying to 'go up the social hierarchy', make it as a clown...then at the end we seem him going down those steps, but dancing, with supreme confidence, as the joker. The transformation is complete.
Do you guys watch the show Gotham? The guy who plays the 'Joker' is definitely up there with Heath. Though I have a feeling Phoenix will be my favourite Joker after this film….Also *SPOILER* VV From the Dark Knight Returns, the Joker gets on a talk show before everyone feared him….And well he massacres everyone in the room. The audience are all killed, all on tv. I'm curious if they are doing that in this film. The director is saying it's not just R rated…but a Hard R rating.
Just to defend Jared Leto, he didn't have that much scenes to do anything we can judge and actually he is not the real joker that's why he had that look, in that version it was supposed to be even Tim Drake or Jason Todd, because the Joker is much older than Batman and Batman in that movie was older and stopped being Batman for a while...if you're reading comics you'd know, well it's a spoiler for the future of DC that never happened
Jared Leto joker is most likely Jason Todd as the joker.. sorry for the none comic fans Jason was a Robin after dick greyson, who was killed by the joker.
Now I understand how one guy, with no super power, no monstrous intelligence, no money, no authority, but madness alone can stand up as the best villain in DC universe. Joker was made by society. You cant kill society, another Joker will just rise up.
I wasn’t sure about the movie after seeing the photo leaks. I was like, “not another remake!” After viewing this trailer, I am suuuuper excited about the movie. Ledger is the standard followed closely by Nicholson and Romero.
Mark Hamill is the best Joker in my opinion. You can't spell Mark Hamill without Arkham . Whenever I think of the Joker or read a Joker comic, this voice is what I hear ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0nn8rKkITww.html But i am really excited for this movie
Just seen Joker tonight.OMG , truly disturbing, dark , beautiful music , came out of the cinema out of sorts. True insight of depression / PTSD. I don't think I will ever see a better film again!!
If his acting throughout the whole movie would be consistently as strong as in this trailer, I smell another Oscar nomination (and possibly a win) for Joker (back then performed by the late Heath Ledger and now by Joaquin Phoenix).
Hi guys. From the first looks I was really dubious about this film. But...after watching this trailer it absolutely blew me away! Phoenix looks like he puts his soul into the role as a tortured individual who is disillusioned with everything and descends into madness due to the corruption and hate in Gotham City. Someone who tired to being light to the world becomes the darkest thing in it. I cannot wait for this movie!!!
1. Was that little Bruce Wayne? 2. Is he working at Arkham State Hospital or visiting patients? 3. Looks like it takes place in the '70s. 4. Was that Robert DeNiro as the host to his show? 5. We're being introduce to a psychopath. Wow. I love it!
1. That was Bruce Wayne 2.He's a patient there 3. 70s/80s 4.That was definitely Robert De Niro which srprised me because I was thinking about how much this looked like a cross between Taxi Driver and King of Comedy during the trailer and then poof, De Niro pops out lol 5. I agree
