I'll be there for you, performed live in 1989 in Philadelphia. Incredible display of very full and powerful vocals, one of his best performances. Jon sings a few D5's in mixed voice during the improv near the end - incredible!!!
im gonna tell all you lot out there, who say that jon has lost his voice, that you're all sadly mistaken. I went to see them live 1yr 1/2 ago and jon's voice his still top notch. As a band they are awesome as well and they always will be. Best version of this song ever as well
I love this performance! and this song is so beautiful!!!!!! It kinda makes me sad though, because jon's voice isn't like this anymore, and i am a huge fan of THIS bon jovi!!!!! too bad i never saw them live at this era, but i wasn't born:( but i love bon jovi now too, though. Jon is still hot :P and richie too.
The Outtro is: 'Don't you know that I'd get down, on my knees, and I'd cry, a Thousand tears, yes I would look, into your eyes....but I cant stand the tears....I can't stand the pain....and I hope again, u'll just give us a chance....
@AzEvanz check who says you cant go home uploaded by bjcrush, from 2005..at 6.34, only a short one but still a scream. he can do it but decides to save it for special moments id say..
yea dude, thans for the heads up - in all their 89 performances of "id die for you" jon hits a higher note, G5. Wasn't aware he was still doing that in 96 - you sure it was 1996?
for those who said that richie is better then jon (on vocals)....no!!!!! that`s not possible! they have 2 different voices and jon ....he might sing louder some songs live, but tink about it:there are so many people that you need to keep on...& i don`t think that, being a rock star like jon is, you cant afford to sing like in the studio(slow... and after a "plan") cause you`re losing the atmosfere that you`ve started...but anyway, jon has the feeling of the lyrics & the song... he totaly rocks!!
Some examples of Jon carrying notes - Hallelujah is 13s with an ascending note. Hallelujah: watch?v=B1JrQwfAdlA Change is gonna come: watch?v=aYCt4s7X1FU
probably most of them would kill me but I agree!!! I think he has NO voice anymore . I think he HAD one of the most amazing voices ever -and because of that I can't listen too him singing nowadays but you know-the guy is OLD ;) and did insane things to his oice in the past so give him a break ! thank heavens for old recordings ! *.*
wow! I'd like to know what does he say in the end, I mean the extra stuff that its not in the normal version, if someone understands and can help I'd be so grateful!
'Don't you know that I'd get down, on my knees, And I'd cry, a Thousand tears, yes I would look, into your eyes but I cant stand the tears I can't stand the pain and I hope again, you'll just give us a chance.
your right he has a vocal problem since 87, when he ruined his voice.. after that, his voice was never the same.. but with new techniques and lot of vocal lessons he is still able to sing almost every song in standard key.. and he is more cautious now.. so yeah, he still is a pimp :D
jon's voice might not be as good as it was.. but dude. just think? everyone gets older.. and when you have given everything for 25 years,. it isnt weird that your voice is broken then.. .. richie hasnt screamed his balls off for 25 years, jon did.. and he still sounds bloody awesome at live performances.. he just cant hit the highest notes anymore.. but that is really normal for someone of his age and with his history.. respect for jon :D he was and is the best.
