This song, hasn’t nearly gotten the attention it deserves. It’s as good a rock song as you’ll hear. It’s 2024, and it still kicks ass. It’s a masterpiece!!
I 100 per cent agree with you. Absolutely amazing song, I listen to it regularly. Ritchie vocally and instrumentally is just the tops for me. A fantastic musician.
@@clairemooney108 Amen sister. It bothers me that people don’t have any idea. Honestly, he’s a better singer than John, no disrespect meant at all to John.
Couldn’t have said it better. I had this album when it came out, on vinyl, but sadly record player gone and I forgot, till now . And it still blows me away 😅
@@robertwake5337 Amen brother. And yes… the whole album is great. But, for me… this one is extra special. Father Time gets special mention also. Incredible album like you said, all in all.
Richie Sambora is a rockstar, a legend, a guitar hero, nobody discusses him... Great composer, great singer, with all the groove, charisma... But still, he is tremendously underrated. It should be even more evident and recognized how big and talented he is. "Sambora ❤ Forever"
You guys are really out of your mind 😂. Its all about fuckin chemistry. I agree this album is a masterpiece, but how far did it went? Same for Jon's solo album which is also a masterpiece. Jon needed Richie, and Richie needed Jon, like both of them need Tico and David. One piece left of that equation can change the whole band. So stfu all of you talkin about the same shit, cause none of them would have made as huge as they did separately 😂
I agree. Richie was so underrated at the time. An amazing guitarist with a beautiful voice. I miss him. He should have gotten way more credit for his talent.
I am convinced that somewhere in the world, there are still people who feel the same emotions that I feel when I listen to this wonderful, unforgettable song.
Everybody is saying stuff about how they think Richie's voice is better that Jon's or that Jon's is more unique, but honestly, I think they sounded best together. They had a heavenly melody going on when they sang together.
In my opinion, Mr. Richie Sambora should be inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame also as a Solo Artist.💪!!! I don't want to be redundant on how great i feel this man is !! There must be others out there who agree with me.
I'm with you all the way. Even before new Jersey was released Richie was my absolute hero. Jon kept him down, he knew Richie was a bigger star and more talented. Love to my beautiful king of swing 🎸🥰
Richie Sambora is, was and always will be a legendary artist...at least in my book. Bon Jovi just isn't the same anymore without him on the backing vocals and the guitar. He has an amazing voice which rivals that of Jon, maybe even surpasses it, is a gifted songwriter and he is one of the best guitar players I've ever known. And the album "Stranger in this town" is a little masterpiece. Even after all these years I still love listening to it.
El super ego de Jon , no deja ver lo magnífico de RICHIE, sabe que lo supera con la guitarra, los arreglos, los solos, y con su voz. Jon ya no tiene la voz de antes
@@adifferentkindofanidiot2215 If, then the years, the drinks have taken a toll on him, however still his voice in his interpretations fascinate me. He always had more strength, power, soul in his songs than Jon.
Without Jon, Richie would never have been in the band. John scouted him. Enough respect to Richie one of the best Guitarists, great vocals to. Loads of talent.
This song should have been Number 1 on the Billboard charts, instead it charted only at #36. Maybe the radio stations didn't give it a fair play or perhaps this was at a time when grunge was taking over. Whatever, it's a great song and Richie is a very underrated artist.
+aussieboy77 Considering Nirvana's Nevermind and Pearl Jam's Ten explosive albums and Alice in Chains killer Facelift album followed by Soundgarden's sick badmotorfinger... yeah Grunge has taken over the media real bad and i can't blame it, those bands has good talents. But this whole "Stranger in This Town" album is just so underrated as fuck. I would take this over any Bon Jovi album from the post These Days album and besides this was even better than most Bon Jovi album although Jon's "Blaze Of Glory" is good as well. Richie is just hugely underrated and i'm happy he left this kind of popshit Bon Jovi is going through. Jon screwed up real bad, let Shit X take all the shit lol
If you haven't listened to Richie's 38 minute interview about Stranger in This Town and his thoughts about songwriting and many other things, you should. He is very articulate and thoughtful and interesting. I was having trouble concentrating though and had to watch it multiple times due to those gorgeous brown eyes and those lips (sorry, I am a female and couldn't help it) and that hair. lol.
I agree with you man. He has a good voice. He is so good at playing the guitar. He is surely a rock legend. Guitarist from bon Jovi and now a solo hard rocker singer.
Richie sings a lot better than Jon - I saw him live.. and he also played some "BON JOVI" songs .. Wow!! How these songs could sound.. with this voice!!! I've never seen a BJ concert again.. since he left
It's nice that Richie is getting some praise, but I think most fans know that success always followed Jon. Whether it's "Runaway", which was recorded by different musicians; "Blaze of Glory", which became a #1 song outside of the band; or "Bed of Roses" & "Always" (both solely written by Jon), which are the band's only top 10 hits in the US after the 80s.
@@jp3813Richie is amazingly talented, but his drug and alcohol problems would never have allowed him to be successful without Jon’s unwavering vision of huge success for the band, and his ability to stay the course no matter what. Jon needed Richie’s talent, and Richie seeded Jon’s sense of purpose and self-discipline. This album is great, but then what happened to him? It’s an embarrassment.
This man is perfection. His voice and guitar 🎸 are so amazing. He led Bon Jovi to the top. Without him Bon Jovi just don't cut it anymore. Jon relied on Richie's amazing voice for years and Richie never got the aclaim he deserved. Long live the king of swing 🎸🥰😍
Brandie Leach yeah, me too. Here in Argentina, the CD came out without the "Richie Sambora-Stranger in this town" on the front. As if someone was forgotten, they put a stick on the plastic cover. Very underrated gem.
Dude, richie sambora knows how to play the guitar man. He is very good at playing the electric guitar man!!!! He has such a powerful voice man. His voice is so amazing. He did a very good job on his solo career. He is my favorite 1980's hard rock guitar player of all time. Keep on rockin richie sambora. ✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌
His music hits me right in the gut. He’s that good. It’s too bad he took a back seat to Jon all those years and I never knew how talented this guy is. It is a shock.
@@christar9527 Richie never took a "back seat" to Jon, it was the two of them TOGETHER who made "Bon Jovi" the band it WAS. They complimented each other perfectly. Today, without Richie, Bon Jovi is nothing but a shell of what it used to be.
@@looneyburgmusic Richie definitely took a backseat to Jon in their solo careers. Amplified by the fact that all but four of Jon's songs were solely written (two albums) while all but three of Richie's songs were co-written (three albums).
Richie, what an awsum voice! I have to say prefer it to Jon's myself personally, but not to take away from Jon's talent. Something very real, from the heart and truly soulful, not to mention amazing guitar skills. Sexiest guy I 've ever seen in a hat that's for sure!
I love this guy ❤️ I think at the time, Ritchie got overshadowed by Slash and Joe Perry. I love both those guys. Just wish Ritchie had gotten a lot more credit. Hope he knows there are so many of us who love him and are huge fans.
Dang, Richie is so underated and he should of been shining his light more when he was with Jon Bon Jovi. He had so much talent to give. I'm happy he finally got to shine in his own right. John had to have it all. His loss really.
@@gulalatas9163 People look at events and draw conclusions based on their own pathetic lives and prejudices. It’s easier than researching the truth of what actually happened and why.
Richie Sambora have unique voice, amazing guitarist and i'm Bon Jovi fan since many many years, but i'm sure, when they are together....everything sounds better....probably BJ voice is different now but after 30 years of stage....what do you expect, but doesn't matter, they are soul brothers,i love this guys and I have a hope to see them together...one day,the best band EVER ( to me ) :))))))
When he's clean and sober, he's great vocally as well as with his guitar skills. Unfortunately for him, he burned his own bridge. Phil X is officially the lead guitar player now, all because Richie has shown zero desire to return. Phil X does a great job, especially when filling in at the last moment like what he had to do in '13. Now I can't wait for the new album they are working on. It'll probably be next year before it comes out but I can wait.
***** I mean no disrespect to you, I would like to see a link for where Richie talks about returning because every video I've watched since '13 when either he or Jon have been asked about it, Jon has never said anything negative towards Richie, Richie is as elusive as you can be, and a couple of times he slipped up and had a few bad words to say about Jon, but I don't dwell on that because I would like to see them get back together. I'm glad that Phil was willing to jump in head first for 2 tours, it can't be easy to get a great guitar player for a great band without a minute's notice, and he has done a great job both times. The guys never had to send Phil to rehab or worry he would be sober for a concert like they did with Richie. They are closer than most biological brothers because they wanted Richie healthy, they didn't kick him out of the band, so I have a lot of respect for them. As for Richie's solo project, that album came out in '13, there are either 2 or 3 songs on it that I really like, especially "Engine 19". I have felt that Richie latched onto Ori because she's a young, blonde, very talented musician with a good fan base, played with Alice Cooper AND Michael Jackson, and Richie put himself into her tour and with time, her tour became his, yet rather than promote his new music, he was playing the great Bon Jovi hits and Ori was playing and singing in the background. There is one video where he says to her to "play some shit" and she moves up to a microphone. If you want, I'll try and find the link to that, I don't remember which one it is at the time, but I will look so that I can show I'm not making it up. There is one new video that is titled Jon Bon Jovi Today and they are doing "We don't run" live. Phil X is there, singing and playing, Dave, Tico, Bobby, and Hughie are there also. Apologies for the book this turned into.
andrea vigliano I'm not sure I fully understand you, but Phil X IS the guitar player/vocalist for Bon Jovi. Their first single from their upcoming album "This house is not for sale" is the band as it is now and that should be all the proof anyone needs to know who the band members are by watching the video. Bon Jovi ROCKS!!!
Richie es tan talentoso, pero tan infravalorado. Que injusto. Escribe, produce, canta maravilloso y es un gran guitarrista. Esta canción me emociona demasiado. Obra de arte.
What an awesome song! I‘ve listened to this my whole childhood as my mother was the bigggest Richie Sambora fan. I‘m working on an acoustic cover, but this ain‘t gonna be easy ☺️
@@SophiaCorso Yeah I'll bet, especially the solo section, I've found that breaking the song up into small sections per day helps with not becoming overwhelmed with the size of the song. Good luck if you ever decide to go back to it :D
Listen to the lyrics...so down to earth, heart, emotion, he is honest and hides nothing. He knows how to communicate through his music...what you see is what you get from him.....I love this song..and I can relate to it very well...I get it, all of it..have you ever felt like a stranger? I am sure lots have...
Brenda Rebel Angel Sambora`s lyrics are simply amazing =D and yeap, I feel like this song a lot of times. Stranger and The Answer are my fav song of this album
Saw him in Sydney on Feb 26th and he played this song (to perfection). He has lost nothing as far as his voice goes. This was the highlight of the gig for me!
Lo que pasa es q no a todos gusta este género, a mi personalmente me fascina su voz y tengo sus CD, me hubiese gustado que tuviera más espacio en la banda es formidable
Richie is a beautiful man with a growly beautiful voice. He is in my top 5 of talented guitarist of all time. He is up there with Slash, Clapton, May and Eddie Van Halen
Would you believe it that I listened to this song for the first time today n fell in love with it. Who would've thought that that handsome guy rocking stadiums n being goofy with his friends had so much soul n angst in his voice... x
