All the 1,3 million PPV wasnt for Masvidal this time though.. Lets be real. Alot did buy for Holloway, Volkanovski, Petr Yan, Aldo and even Usman even though people wont admit it.. Thats atleast 500k there. We are talking about champions from Brazil, Russia, Hawaii and Africa.. (Usman has alot of fans there) Another proof is Masvidal last fight against Nate which only did 1 million.. I know he wasnt as hyped a fighter there but he was still fighting as the b-side so it should have done alot better ..

Khabib was hated but i feel like now more and more people start to appreciate and respect him bc they saw that this man is amazing as a fighter and as a person (he is not fake, he says what he thinks and does what he wants to do without thinking in what people will think about it) And he actually changed the game bc now a lot of people use his techniques (Porier in his last fight for example).
@@belleareynolds3295 the haters. I mean, a lot of people say thag Khabib is so boring and hating him bc of his fighting style or the basically hate him bc he is 28-0. But now i feel like they start to have respect to him and noticing that he is not boring and fake
@@belleareynolds3295 I don't like him because he always appeared to me as a better than you type guy like hes morally superior to you I like how he fights not his personality
Nisrine well yeah have you ever watched usman fight? He is so fucking boring. I’m down with wrestling and ground and pound like khabib. He has insane pressure and cardio. Kamaru clinches stomps feet and holds them down without throwing anything significant. Khabib is exciting unlike snoozeman
@Dowhat Iwant Woah that escalated quickly. Names are proper nouns, so pronounce them as u think, if the man himself tells u say 'Horhe' thats what you say. Growing up immigrant, I'm sure Jorge was glad to be called George at times. if you're speaking Spanish, English grammar can suck it & he's Horhe. Isnt Khabib Habib after all?
The reason why people like and respect Khabib is that he's authentic. The guy is straight to the point and unintentionally funny. He doesn't need a gimmick to garner any followers he's comfortable by being himself.
I think people whether they realize it or not, feel some sort of weird vibes from Jones... like sociopath vibes. Everything he says sounds super fake and depressive.
This is really interesting actually because Jones' fans argue that he doesn't make good numbers and nobody cares about his fights because he is so skilled and dominant even though since he's off the juice his performance is mediocre. At the same time Khabib is the most dominant in the sport, never lost a fight either in reality or on scorecards and yet people can't wait for his fights.
@@LBJ6james 70% of khabib's fans are muslims. The rest are connor's hater. He would be irrelevant if he didn't beat Conor nor wasn't in a very competitive division. He's a great wrestler though.
@Videos 100% agree. Khabib is the most followed Athlete in Russia and Russians are majority Orthodox Christians. Some people are just universally liked regardless of their Race/Religion. Messi is a good example he is liked Globally even though he is a devout Christian but most of the world is non-Christian but they like Messi the same including Christiano Ronaldo and Maradonna, Zidane, OG Ronaldo etc. etc.
Khabib has a lot of things going in his favor that makes him a star. There's people tuning in to see him maul guys until the ref stops it. There's those supporting him solely because of background which is fine. There's another paying to see if the challenger can beat him.
He also made ~1 million PPV buys with only him selling the card. Also, that card was live at 2 PM EST. There is a reason he got paid 6 million to show in UFC 242. This just shows you how big khabib really is
Faizan Aslam another reason was because here in England (and most of Europe) the fight was on around 9-10pm ( I think) which is much better than 5am fights 😂😂 so more would wanna watch khabib
He doesn't need a gimmick (Khabib). He stands for a huge religious and ethnical community that hasn't been represented like this ever before. Since they care about strength and power, not showmanship, he just needs to be himself. Something similar to Fedor. He is the right product for that audience. In fact, they probably don't pay a lot of attention to mainstream stars like Connor and Jorge.
Conor wasn’t a gimmick either. And I’m talking the conor that came before the Mayweather fight. He was this confident fighter that had a dream and was brought up with all the odds against him (poor background, Ireland which was not known for ufc fighters). Everything was against him. And he went out and achieved his dream, and that’s why originally everyone loved him. Obviously he’s changed now
Pervaiz Akhtar Guys like Salah, Pogba, Ozil, Benzema etc all easily have bigger followings than Khabib. It isn’t about the size of the following, since Khabib will never top that list but more so the new specific communities that gain an interest in Khabib and then MMA.
@@99TJS1 I'd disagree with Pogba, Salah, Ozil, Mahrez having bigger followings than Khabib. Khabib is liked by almost every Muslim mma fan whereas I am not a fan of Salah, Pogba, Ozil due to being a City fan and like Mahrez because he's a City player, not because he's a Muslim and I am not an exception.
Arshiyan Tauheed every metric has those guys (not Mahrez) ahead of Khabib. MMA has very little penetration in the Muslim world other than southern Russia and Eastern Europe. Football however is far more global.
@PARK Why won't you hypocritical neanderthals shut the fuck up, the world needs saving FROM people like you, not BY people like you. Fucking nut jobs bruv.
I actually used to call him masdival when the started watching mma...few months later i realised i was saying wrong...but chael just confirmed i was right all along
I'm so sick of hearing this whole "khabib lost a round" thing. Round 3 against conor was not a lost round for khabib. I dont even see why this is an argument.
probably lost one to Tibau though. that fight was a weird one. i think all 3 rounds were basicaly ded even. witch mean, lots of people liked the look of tibau and gave him 30-27 and lots of people liked the look of kahbib and gave him 30-27. and then everything inbetween. I dont think any combernation of 10-9 rounds in that fight could be considered wrong.
Ramses Linan He clearly lost the round to Conor though. In a round where all five minutes were striking, and Conor outstruck him, while neither landed any signifinicant damaging shots, it is still a winning round for Conor. Khabib dominated the rest of the fight and could of taken him down in that round and probably finished it, but he obviously didnt want to finish it just yet.
Yep, the problem with a lot of American pundits is they only equate star power to PPV buys which is a very American way of looking at things and kind of ignores the fact that mma is a global sport. Forget PPV buys, khabib is a genuine mainstream star now, the guy is a national hero in Russia and a megastar in the middle east. The guy makes millions doing meet and greets and public appearances in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Khabib's potential world wide fan base is massive with 1.5 billion Sunni Muslims and over 200 millions Russians as well as others from countries in the Caucasus.
khabib is interesting because, for some crazy reason, despite his total dominance in every fight, everybody thinks his next opponent actually has a chance.
I dont consider khabib a huge draw yet, he bring in more numbers than average but his only huge fight is the conor fight and that’s because conor was there. His numbers before that weren’t great, and his porier fight didn’t pass one million I believe. Masvidal has managed to get himself a ppv over 1 million while being the main attraction, not going to lie though the main card was stacked and that might’ve helped
if you think about it all these guys are draws because of conor. Nate and Khabib beat Conor and they became big afterwards. Masvidal became big after beating Nate.
@@Guy65006 Khabib is my favourite fighter but it's true Conor McGregor(and Ronda Rousey to a lesser degree) made the UFC completely mainstream worldwide. Now almost every guy I know watches/follows the UFC. Khabib to his credit has built up the Muslim demographic, him and Mo Salah are the two most popular muslim athletes in the world.
Nah, jones is boring. Jones wins by decision's more than anybody. All his flashy bs is just that. I've watched people of less stature knock people out with the same move. For instance the spinning back elbow which for him is weak as fuck.
George Harry he is not some mega star people make him out to be. Everybody confuses his IG following with his drawing power which is a dumbass argument cause when Khabib fought AL at the time he had like 7-8 million followers and the card did like 300k buys that is pathetic for a so called superstar. People claim Khabib vs Poirer did a million and yet ESPN has never released anymore numbers back that? ESPN would be all over that shit if it did great numbers look at how they made UFC 249 and UFC 251 numbers public. Only people who claimed a million was Khabib’s team
@Tits You're an idiot... Jones won 2,4,5 vs Gustafsson and 3, 4, 5 vs Reyes... That's how great Jon Jones is... Anybody who can win one or two rounds against him EVERYBODY will think they won the whole fight LMAO
Well, in regards Khabib, his last fight was also 1M buys ... but more than that, in regards to the press conference he gave 8 mins after the melee, and said "what's the big deal" ... he didn't exactly say it or mean it in that context ... he meant: "Really? What I just did is a big deal to you guys despite the fact that another guy insulted my father, my religion, my creed, my country, and committed a felony by attacking UFC fighters in the Brooklyn bus incident, cut up Michael Chiesa bad enough that he couldn't compete and lost on a pay day, and then Ray Borg seated next to Chiesa caught glass in his eye, and they pulled him from a fight and he lost on a pay day, and so did Brandon Moreno. Also hurt was one of UFC's employees, a security-man, got his knuckles broke." So yeah. In comparison, jumping into a crowd to put a beating on Dylan Danis IS pretty dam minuscule.
Here's a card. Tony Ferguson vs Charles Olivera Sean O'Malley vs Dominic Cruz Stephen Thompson vs Michael Chiesa Brian Ortega vs Zabit Magomedsherapov Robbie Lawler vs Vicente Luque Holla at me
He means that Masvidal became wayy more popular after that fight than he had been before, remember it was because of that fight that he won fighter of the year
If you all hate him, he doesn't a f about it . He knows to shut up his haters. He will keep on winning convincingly and shut down that controversial decision he has against Reyes. He doesn't care about ufc ,fanbase, anyone because nobody respect him. He knows how to make them respect him. Simple as that.
Dont get me wrong, I like watching Jones win...hes a great fighter. But i agree with Chael that Jones is most likely going to win, and his fights are a bit more predictable. You must admit that Masvidal is a really big draw right now, and is way more interesting than Jones. Also, Masvidal seem way more genuine and honest in his interviews.
@@jeremyrafuse5330 ufc stars yes, crossover stars? No , its the same as boxing 99.999% of fighters are popular amongst the ufc/boxing community but they are nobodies to any1 outside the genre
Is JBJ on the level of Conor or maybe Khabib, no. But masvidal is new. Jones has been consistently been doing over 500k. That’s a star. The other guys are superstars. Not many are doing 500k. Probably only the ones I mentioned.
@@smnomad9276 nop we dont really know the numbers , i read that conor vs cowboy made 1.6M ppv dana and espn never confirm it , even in the old days conor vs nate 1.7M and vs khabib 2.4 m is just a close guess..
I'd be up for seeing Jones vs Reyes 2 cause it was so close. There aren't any other big options on the table for Jon. But perhaps they want to try Jon vs Jan to see how that goes. 🙂
He is genuine and transparant person undefeated record also becuz Khabib has a whole country behind him and biggest Muslim athlete in the world right now 👍
Im really impressed by the way you layed out your argument and I completely agree with you, he doesnt have anything up his sleeve after this Reyes fight. But you should have taken into consideration the supposed "mega fight" against Ngannou.
Well Jones has been talking about moving up to heavyweight for like 7 years now so I don't think people believe him when he says he wants to fight Ngannou
Yeah only according to his manager he did a million but you mean to tell me ESPN wouldn’t release those numbers if they actually did a million? They released numbers for ufc 249 and now ufc 251 but they can’t release Khabib’s fight numbers?
@@henrycavillsrealmustache3553 he's a cheater ? I mean how could you respect that? And for you to think that PED's don't make a difference, you've obviously never seen or heard of the legendary TRT Vitor Belfort...
I Have Herpes Anal TRT vitor was juiced to the gills. Jon had trace amounts in fact less than what Nate Diaz popped for when he got his blamed on tainted Supplements. Less than Yoel Romero and he got millions because it was tainted. Sooooo if they are still cool not cheating fighters than Jon is too. Lol he beats people on a crazy weekend of cocaine and partying sounds like a true fighter who likes to scrap 😂 like they beat people up in a cage idgaf what they do.
