It's odd that Rahm answered the sportswashing concern by saying "the fact they made an effort to be involved and support PGA tour is a testament to their not here to take over and make the PGA tour go away". From Wikipedia: "Sportswashing is a term used to describe the practice of nations, individuals, groups, corporations, or governments using sports to improve reputations tarnished by wrongdoing. A form of propaganda, sportswashing can be accomplished through hosting sporting events, purchasing, or sponsoring sporting teams, or participating in a sport." So it doesn't matter if they're associated with PGA Tour or not, it's about the intention behind the money.

Well said Jon Rahm. He told the truth and I respect that. What he didn’t say is why I respect him even more. He and dozens others have lost faith in Jay Monahan and the Tour’s directors. As for Tiger Woods- who cares what that has been thinks. Does he care what we think of his dozens of affairs, under the influence wrecks, and leaving his girlfriend at an airport on a false vacation scheme?
I wish these guys would quit whining about being able to play pga tour events you took the money to play liv now shut up and play liv. I don’t begrudge them for taking the money I just feel like you knew the choices and the consequences for that choice now just live with it.
If people would listen to the words Jon was saying regarding PGA Tour events they would understand he is not talking about supporting the PGA Tour as a whole, but rather supporting certain events on the tour. It is not about the money from the event, but rather the venue, the charities that event supports and the people running the event. These guys are not complaining about the tour, but rather events they would like to continue to SUPPORT. Some of the names would be bigger draws now at certain events just because of the attention they would draw and have drawn in the past. The PGA Tour has no guarantee when it comes to earning, in layman terms, it is similar to a sales position where you make money based on WINs or placement. If someone told any sales person that they could get a guaranteed SALARY plus commissions would they not all jump at that chance.

If some district comes along and offers me 2.2 million dollars to go teach at another school and only half the days of my first school, I'm not even finishing out the day. What pissed me off with the PGA was the way Rory and Tiger were a-holes to the guys leaving. Tiger has made F you money with the PGA Tour and his endorsements. But I feel he has no right to tell other players how to go about their business. If they want to go make more money somewhere else, all the power to them. No other professional sport has players telling other players how to handle their business.

Dude you are fooling your bitter self. The monopoly PGA Tour is soon to be crushed. They can’t fund a billion in prize money and sponsors are abandoning the increased cost. 2 big events sponsors have already decommitted.
You morons are both wrong. The PIF always wanted a seat in the table to access US capital markets, it’s a part of SA’s vision 2030. The kingdom of Saudi Arabia does not want to run a golf tour, they want to access big centers of commerce, and the pga tour is that. Liv’s TV product is still not pulling any viewers in key markets. It’s in their best interest to merge and just become the tours financial backer. On the flip side, the Tour and SSG business partners either know they cannot possibly stand up to a SWF worth 850 billion dollars, or are too stupid to realize it. Despite what tiger would have you think, LIV will keep poaching players until both products become truly unwatchable or the tour just folds. This is a game of money and power, and unfortunately for the tour, they were never gonna win this fight. For Rahm, because these two entities both have massive incentives to merge it was the right choice to go and play and get this money. Does it suck for regular viewers, sure, but his thinking is logical. As for the idea that PGA tour is gonna get crushed, it will unless you merge. Which they probably won’t because of anti trust laws in the US UK and EU.
