Yes. It is something else's. I love his Orchestra home studio recordings also. Ads to the internal tingling in the soul behind his vocals. System of a down did something similar as well. Awesome sound. That's another lead with a special voice. Surge Tankian.
Getting is annunciation helps, but yeah that tone is far too unique to clone, A big thing is pronounce e as ayyyy Something takes a part of maaaaayyyy close but still not him
Jons musical talent is unmatched. He plays instruments, writes hundreds of impeccable songs, uses his voice box as an instrument, and has that tortured soulful voice that fights evil. ❣️
JD is actually super talented and a true musician, and I love his amazing voice, so much depth and versatile. I’ve first heard this song from almost 10 years ago and it still gives me chills every time I revisit. I know some arrogant people only see him as some nu-metal cliche, their loss.
Jon Davis has one of the most unique but recognizable voices out there. When ya hear it, you know its Jon. Just the way it is. Will always be a fan of old school Korn till the day I die. Love their older heavier stuff i.e Faget, Freak on a leash, Justin, Falling Away from Me, Right Now, and Thoughtless. Personal few faves
I liked Queen of the Damned. But, If everyone else involved in that movie could have performed up to the level of Jonathan Davis, It would have been a much more successful film. I thought he perfectly captured what I imagined Lestat's music would sound like.
parkpunk2 the soundtrack is perfect for the..... book? the movie was okay as a vamp flick, but jonathan davis and richard gibb (i believe they wrote most of the score) nailed perfectly the nuances of lestat through their music.... best soundtrack ever, only wish the movie came up to this level....
4:32- 4:51......makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Jd gave the best vocal performance ive ever heard there. KoRn fan since 95. Saw them 14 times. But never saw jd and the sfas live.
+chilangua i heard them back in 93 friend of mind from Sac got a hold of one of their lb's before they signed. He was likelisten to this shit i got in sac this weekend, Been a fan ever since.
...i think this might actually be a condition. I too, struggle with korn addiction. My family keeps telling me to seek help, n I'm just like, "No, Never!"
Walking, waiting Alone without a care Hoping and hating The things I can't bare Did you think it's cool to walk right up To take my life and fuck it up Well did you, well did you [Chorus:] I see hell in your eyes Taken in by surprise Touching you makes me feel alive Touching you makes me die inside Walking, waiting Alone without a care Hoping and hating The things I can't bare Did ya think it's cool to walk right up And take my life and fuck it Well did you I hate you! [Chorus: Repeat] I've slept so long without you It's tearing me apart too How did you get this far Playing games with this old heart I've killed a million petty souls But I couldn't kill you I've slept so long with out you [Chorus: Repeat x2] Read more: Korn - Slept So Long Lyrics | MetroLyrics
The best hard rock/metal voice ever. Jon's amazing and versatile because he can sing at very high pitches then drop down to deep death growls and sound awesome either way. Not sure who else can do that.
i'm sure it's been said a million times before but damn. everything about this performance is absolutely legendary. this version never ceases to impress me. still listenin in 2024 🤘🏽
this performance is nothing short of perfection. perfect emotion. perfect inflection. straight passion. i feel like i should be paying for this right now lol
It may be his song but on the soundtrack it's performed by static X unfortunately. he sounds so much better singing this than they do I wish the soundtrack used the version he sang instead
Oh wow he has increible breath control, and held that note for so long (15 seconds I think)! I don't usually hear people holding notes for an incredibly long time unless it's opera. This made me fall even more in love with his voice! He voice is damn near a spiritual experience!🤯 😍🤩
@@gabrielnowacki ahhhh righttttt 😂😂confuseeee. Do u know where to download the full soundtrack? Last time i bought the album in cassette. Now nowhere to be found 🥴
My wife and i have come to the conclusion that JD isnt human. I have been obsessing over koRn, JD, his solo stuff, movie scores, and everything i could find that Johnathan has been a part of. I watch endless hours of live performances he's done, as well as a ton of interviews he has given. I cant lie. This man never misses a single note, never does his voice crack, and can change from a beautiful falsetto to a death metal pig squeel without missing a single beat. This guy can not be real. Literally he is perfect every single time. I even have seen a version of 'Slept So Long' where he holds the final note for a ridiculously long time and still, perfect. No cracking nor does his voice go off pitch. Such a great talent. He is so intelligent and actually does good with his fame and money. Not many musicians can say that at all. So Thank you Johnathan Davis for just doing what you love and making such amazing music that literally will last forever. One of the greatest of all time 😊
WHEN I FIRST SAW THE MOVIE I FELL IN LOVE WITH LESTAT'S VOICE. WHEN I FOUND OUT THAT IT WAS JONATHAN DAVIS I WAS HOOKED ON KORN. I CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF THERE MUSIC AND HIS SINGING. I AM A DEVOTED FAN.... FOREVER..!!!!!!
Jonathan has one of those voices that even works without some edits from a studio, he sounds exactly like in the songs from the studio after the production. Amazing guy, what a talent
This Man has..... a beautiful voice if I can call it that..... can’t compare it to anything. ... so awesomely powerful..... love his sound.... to me it’s full of rage and pain being let go... beautiful.
the most beautiful vocal in the whole world. and music. and lyrics. i love korn for 20 years ❤️🔥 Johnathan I wish you endless happiness for your beautiful soul
I actually met JD in the parking lot of the venue Korn was playing at in San Antonio (Jäggermeister Tour). He's actually a pretty soft spoken, cool guy.
He didn't have a choice in it, unfortunately. Due to contracts/legal shit, he wasn't allowed to sing for the soundtrack, so a bunch of his friends and fellow artists did the songs.
The Huntsman Yeah. If I remember correctly, it has something to do with Sony not allowing the amazing Mr. Davis--due to his contract with them (or Immortal, which is owned by Sony)--to perform on a Warner Bros. album. I feel like this is his way of giving us the soundtrack. Ya know? P.S. I'm in love with his voice, and this is what my angels (if angels existed) would sound like.
