Hello James ! Perfect review as always :) Cool to know that they changed compare to the Ultra Flagship. Hope that they release an Hovercraft Pro in the future :D I own a Solution 161 (Flagship split) and I do agree 100 % with you. It has such a wide reference stance... I did put 2 insert toward the center for the front binding and 1 insert toward the center for the back binding. Felt perfect ! But man that likes to go straight :D See ya :)

Thanks for the good words and your take. Rode the Solution, and sad to see it's set so wide too but at least everything else about it is done pretty well.

Great review as usual. Curious if you can figure out why this one is a good bit cheaper than last year's Ultra Flagship? Seems to have similar characteristics. Also, how would you compare this to the K2 Alchemist? Thanks!!
@thegoodridesnow
@thegoodridesnow 13 дней назад
Thanks. Dont know pricing. Just know I like it better. Alchemist has a little more camber and similar pop but is just a little easier to access it. The Flqgship Pro has a much faster base more grip and has better foat/turning experience in pow with the set back inserts.

You mention looking at custom options if you want something stiffer and faster than this, what companies would you recommend? Ive been looking at Igneous, but im not aware of other custom board shops

Hi! Thank you for great review. I have us12 boots. Do you think 162w would be too narrow? 165w would be a better choice? My weight is 95kg. Thanks
@thegoodridesnow
@thegoodridesnow Месяц назад
Thanks. Yeah most likely you would be better off with the 165w. What is your height and what make, model, size and year board do you ride now? How do you like it?

Flagship Pro

Really excited to order the new Jones Flagship Pro (I previously used the Ultra Flagship) and would be keen to see how they differ. Quick question though - I’m a US 9.5 boot (K2 Thraxis), and weigh 200lbs. Thinking of 164 for the extra length for speed but wondering if I’ll boot out on toe and heel when laying a carve. Your advice will be much appreciated!

@thegoodridesnow Месяц назад
Oh yeah the 164 should be a great fit. I don't think you would get heel/toe drag unless you are really laying it over in medium to very steep terrain and have your back foot close to or at 0 degrees. If you have good bindings that center your boots on the board you should be good. If you want to get into it more hit me here to give me all the pieces to this puzzle so I can help much better. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/

Btw, I saw on Jones’ website that the 24/25 Flagship Pro has Koroyd on the tip (a la Aviator 2.0). Was wondering if you noted that and if that helped with the dampening vs the Ultra Flagship?
@thegoodridesnow
@thegoodridesnow 20 дней назад
I didn't see that in the catalog or on the Jones site about the Flagship Pro. Where did you see that? What I think really helped with dampening is the extra rubber they put in by the inserts.
@aarontanwx
@aarontanwx 13 дней назад
@@thegoodridesnowyou can see it in the “Shape and Profile” section on the Jones website. Just bought it and saw that Koroyd was featured on the tech specs.
@thegoodridesnow
@thegoodridesnow 13 дней назад
You mean the pic? Not seeing the word Koroyd anywhere in the pics or description like I do on the Aviator 2.0. Just a cut out in the pic. If its in there it might make it lighter and it might help but I think the rubber in the Power Plates under the inserts is the key factor making it damp for a "Pro" model. Its unique for Jones.
@aarontanwx
@aarontanwx 12 дней назад
@@thegoodridesnowyup! Reminiscent of the Aviator. Bought one in the end and it mentioned Koroyd as one of the materials used too. Not sure if it relates to that cutout. Tried shining a torch behind but doesn’t shine through like the Aviator 2.0. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Hi, thank you for a great review. QQ, I bought a 24 Ultra for great price $670 that I can still return. Would you say the new 25 pro is significantly better overall then a 24 Ultra?
@thegoodridesnow
@thegoodridesnow Месяц назад
No problem. Better for me but maybe not for you as it all comes down to personal preference. I like boards that handle uneven snow better and the Pro for sure does that. If you like lighter boards with more pop then the Ultra Flagship is going to be your buddy.

I'd be interested in seeing a flaship (pro) vs nidecker ultralight comparison
@thegoodridesnow
@thegoodridesnow Месяц назад
Great Idea. I'll put that up for YT and Patreon Members and try to compare those the next time I review them. They have a similar theme but a different ride. I personally prefer the Flagship Pro just because it doesn't have as much flat in the camber profile in the back but both are fun rides. I do like the sidecut better of the Ultralight though.
@RobertoVillaLobby
@RobertoVillaLobby Месяц назад
@@thegoodridesnow Kind of in doubt between those 3 actually. But since i don't go straight on blacks or super steep off-piste yet, I think the normal Flagship will be the safer choice for me to progress further.
@thegoodridesnow
@thegoodridesnow Месяц назад
Based on what you wrote I'm not sure if any of these are good for you. Boards like the Mind Expander or Cardiff Powoda or United Shapes Cadet might be much better for you. @@thegoodridesnow Thanks but i watched a lot of reviews on the normal flagship and pretty sure thats what i want. I like going fast and straight and do long carves with my ultra mountain twin but it lacks the longer nose to cut through rough terrain, specially noticable in slush and off piste. Since they are about the same stiffness, which i really like, and i intend to learn to go faster on blacks next winter, i think it's a safe bet.

@Phos9
@Phos9 Месяц назад
Oh yeah I thought some of Stranda's boards would be good fits for your specs Really weird how wide they seemingly expect people to have their stance set up. I guess they imagine people will move their rear binding forwards if they want a narrower stance anyway, or they don't expect people to be surfing on it. I felt like I was plateauing last season until I narrowed my stance.
@thegoodridesnow

You were right. I had an amazing time on them. Those reviews are coming soon. Glad narrowing it up works for you.
