@@John_Makaveli What's the point of your comment...MMA fights has a lot of things to learn from especially this one... both have very good fundamentals... A large portion of mma fans are combat sports students Dummy
Jon picks his shots and uses his stamina so well. The difference maker in this fight. He just has the ring control and picks the right shots at the right power. Honestly it think it'd what won him so many 50/50s. He always looks in control
@@korallrev3497no he clearly didn’t lmao jon clearly outstruck him and landed his shots much better, you just say straight lie’s because you can’t accept a fact lmao anybody who has eyes can see that
@@Monkeyman-dm4gnAnyone who has eyes can see who was on a hospital bed with a reconstructed face and who was standing next to him, discharged from hospital, Gus beat the shit out of Jon Jones in that fight, one can argue that Jon had the edge on the scorecard (even though he was significantly outstriked), because he had landed around 60 leg kicks and a few high kicks, which scores higher points than punches, which Alex had landed almost a hundred damaging Jones' brain with.
@@shuuushkiddo no thaigo got dropped many times and he didn't land much punches or kicks and many of them r either checked or missed jon Jones picked him apart
I think Alex won til this day, but not gonna lie, this is definitely the greatest LHW fight of all time. And I was blessed to watch this historical fight.
If you look at fighting like other sports, I can see why you'd think Alex may have won, due to the first rounds. But Jones stampeded him in the final rounds. And it doesn't matter how a fight starts, it's how it ends. If the fight wasn't stopped by the clock I truly believe Jones would have knocked him out eventually. And we saw from their rematch it was no contest that Jones is the better fighter. He won this one while underprepared but when he takes it seriously he's unstoppable.
but that’s simply NOT how ufc works? they both sign a contract that states each round will be scored individually (10-9, 10-8 scale) and if it goes to a decision whatever fighter scored highest on majority scorecards wins, imo gustafson clearly wins 1, 2 and 3 and you could argue maybe a 10-8 for jon in round 4 after that elbow but 5 is a lot closer so the best you could say is 10-9 jones, gustafson should have won this
I love Alex and I forget the fight I've seen him a few times before but hes always good I like John Jones a lot but it's sad how he had everything and drugs just took it from him
Could’ve been the best upset in the sport…i almost feel that if the performances were switched Jon still would’ve gotten the nod. Like he got vs. Reyes & Thiago. All hypothetical but I feel it’s true…
Re watching that fight makes me think how sad it is gus getting knocked out a couple months ago from a clip round the head.. he ate head kicks from Jones that was so crazy
I dont understand how people are so sure Alex won. If anything MAYBE a draw. But it never looked like Jones was in serious trouble, and I feel like if round 6 existed, he woulda made things pretty clear.
Alex really took this fight & really he got robbed Alex had amazing takedown def & was the first person to land a takedown on jones plus it seems jones was way more gassed than Alex was
I really wanted Alexander to win. Not because I dislike Jon (I separate his personal life from his cadge work) I really like him. I just really wanted to see Alexander have a turn.
Jones was juiced to the gills for this fight, imagine being brainwashed and thinking he didnt train for this yet he has the cardio to do flying knees in the 5th round, lmfao GTFO
I don't think he didn't train at all. He probably was always training. But he may not have taken it as seriously as he should have. Esp how much better he was in the rematch makes that clear. But many of Jones's other fights he specifically counters their technique, whole here he didn't. Probably didn't watch the tapes and strategize nearly as much as he should have.
Round 1 Gus Round 2 Jones Round 3 Jones Round 4 Jones Round 5 Jones That head kick landed all night. He stuffed a lot of Jones takedowns but I don’t think that should count for that much.
The only argument you can make of winning the fight is he won 3 out of the 5 rounds at best but still Gus might have gotten 3 Judging the fight as a whole Gus won definitely
