shout out to the bow bar hanging!!! u are for sure passionate about your jonsered saws. i never got to use one myself u dont see them very often around me for sale
Jonsered are still just red Husqvarnas. The last Jonsered was the 520SP. A 2171 is a red 371XP. Nothing is better about the 2171 compared to the 371XP. The cylinder will be the exact same. Even the Jonsered only parts will have a Husqvarna logo on them on the inside and have a Husqvarna part number. But im a Husqvarna fanboy, i'd never never ever run a Jonsered over a Husqvarna. Even if they the same. I'd buy a red one for parts to fix a Husqvarna.
Cutters edge does something because stock that saw was 5.4 hp and when they leave cuttersedge they are 6.24 so somewhere along the line they are getting some motor work
I got a 2172 near me super clean full wrapped.. for 400 and it comes with a clean Stihl 210 easy start and a Husky 51 white top, thinking about snagging her up for an early Christmas present >:) also a 2186 near me for 500 that's full wrapped and rebuilt
Hey bud was wondering what the part number was for the unit filter and what is needed for the intake to mount it? I don't know if you remember me saying but I am building a 2171 turbo and think a open filter would really help out
I run the 2171 with 24" bar,and my 2172 with a 28", the 28" is by far the best bar for this johnny red. Living in California, you don't see a lot of reds. To bad the factory went away from making Johnsered pro saws.
Just a better looking husky 371 in my opinion. I know some people claim the jonsred was a higher spec husky but I think that’s a dealer started rumor buy the older shops to keep jonsred sales up after the buy out. During that time some designs were slightly different before moving fully to a red an black husky.
I have some original jonsreds saws that were silver and red the jonsreds saws were very popular in the upper Midwest. My rarest jonsreds is a model 751 that was supposed to be made only a few years.
It is now or should I say was jonsred isn’t any around for the most part other than private label saws in the homeowner line for a couple companies. Menards lumber still handles jonsred up to 50cc homeowner clamshell saws. The larger pro saws moved into the redmax line in an effort to sell a full lineup to landscapers who love redmax blowers and trimmers ect. The only problem with this plan is ground maintenance crews rarely need the 70-90cc pro saws and no logger is going to buy a redmax saw even though the saws the same minus the label. Sales went lower than they already were under jonsred so it was discontinued. Jonsred was only bought by husqvarna group for the air injection to keep air filters clean. They also bought redmax from komatsu for the stratto design that they had the patent on. The older jonsred that were true ones from pre husky have an s on the end of the name. The original will have jonsreds not jonsred on them.
