the song was (I believe) written before the Eurovision catastrophe, and so the lyrics don't refer to it at all. However the video (created post-Eurovision) makes many, many references to what happened at Eurovision, and we can therefore take this as Joost's very angry (but of course also very clever and funny) "response" to his disqualification.
Base of the song was made before, not yet released; but the onion that he is, the song and video have layers. To me he is saying two things: - I can't react yet, give me time - I am pushing myself towards a new era.
