Will people listen more to science-based facts or religious facts? Is science taking over religion?
Listen to what Dr. Peterson has to say about this matter. You might be surprised.

Religion is complete fraud lmao Is a MAN MADE crucifix a false idol, or the ball of fire in the sky put there by god a false idol? When I look at an apple I realize that the vitamin C is literally electrons that the tree absorbed from the SUN OF GOD and stored in the fruit..the Sun of God is in the flesh of the apple I'm eating... When I die the microorganisms in me will change roles and decompose the cells and tissues going back into the earth as dust ALIVE.. my soul energy will return to it's source the fiery Sun of god to burn for eternity.. The Sun (of God) will set this evening.....When THE SUN RETURNS (tomorrow) the MORNING STAR will RISE FROM THE EAST,it will SAVE MAN from darkness because it is the LIGHT OF THE WORLD,it will be SEEN COMING THROUGH THE CLOUDS with its CROWN of sun rays,as it's shimmer WALKS ON WATER,and when the daylight is longer in duration than the nite and the Sun is fully RESURRECTED (EASTER,springtime) the sun of god will RAISE THE DEAD trees,grasses,flowers etc as it TRAVELS ABOUT THE WORLD with its 12* constellations HEALING THE SICK...then as the days get shorter and shorter in duration all the way till Dec 21st when the day lengths are equal in duration for 3 days..then on December 25 the day lengths start getting longer in duration and the 🌞 is reborn.. The 🌞 is the reason for the seasons.. The 🌞 rises in the east. The 🌞 is the light of the world. The 🌞 is the morning star. The 🌞 reflection walks on water. The 🌞 can be seen coming through the clouds. The 🌞 has a crown of sun rays. The 🌞 travels the world healing the sick...all cancer patients are vitamin D deficient. Vitamin D repairs mitochondria+ a thousand other biological and metabolic functions. The 🌞 will save you from the cold scary darkness. The Sun of god,the morning star,light of the world,rising from the east,coming through the clouds,saving us from darkness,crown of Sun rays,its shimmer walking on water,traveling the sky healing the sick,raising the dead trees grasses,flowers....and that's why there is only one set of footprints in the sand you are walking with the Sun.. You keep god you just lose man's religion.

So, why do they try to claim it to control what goes on around people as well as their lives on the conditions of others as well as what goes on with people’s health and messing around with their health in the form of planning out a disrespectful plan for others to go against them as well as in attacking that person for hating on them? Do some even realize that they’re in the dark and looking in at another persons past to which they’ve improved over the years but has nothing to do with what they have going on in the present then that person who is looking into other people’s and hacking into others computer analytics lives is also looking into their past and seeing what is affecting them as well as affecting other people’s lives that are connected to them. It doesn’t prove anything as well as not getting it as others are diverse or horrible with others as well as themselves and refuse to learn any further and are incapable of learning about themselves instead of getting into other people’s dark past selves and judging them in the present and attacking them for having a dark past were failures and not seeing that the fact that we are actually fighting with our past in our future selves in the current lively hoods that we live right now, shouldn’t be affecting us actually tells me that our information has been hacked into by those who are secretive and refuse to change their own behaviors as well as not really learning how to mind their own business because they’re going to need to be reminded that their stuff is not our stuff and our stuff is not theirs no matter how high and almighty they think they are, they’re unable to tap into that persons current life and mess it up in order to create an affect against them. We have rights on protection ourselves as well as online and they don’t have right in tapping into ours no matter how egotistical they may be in how very well educated they may think they are, we know, they know it’s an unfair advantage and there are those who refuse to be controlled in that kind of personal that kind of disrespectful way in trying to create problems in other people’s lives. That is what’s illegal in conditioning families vulnerability especially when you tie innocent people who aren’t criminals to repeat offenders. Don’t you mess with me. Another thing is the media should never have this kind of technology if they’re going to be using it for dirty laundry in creating mess after mess for others just to create their stories as they have no business in doing against the people in their communities and others. They should abide by a new motive phrase, “don’t do anything at all” (if it seems like a bad ordeal onto someone else cause you’re never know what you’re going to get when someone else’s stuff is being hacked into and they’re getting conditioned against another person who has no clue what the heck is going on. That’s why this shouldn’t be used as a perspective of use in tax information to be used in a way that generates violence of any kind no matter what or which you’re affiliated with. I believe that We’re our own person and you are your own & That should be well respected. If you don’t, you create problems for your own self as well as others if you are not a kind gesture person to make the world into a better place. If you don’t believe in that, you’re in the wrong place.

Science and religion being pitted against each other like this is one of the dumbest rivalries in history. It's a battle between people who don't actually know science or religion. People who think like this are proof they use science or religion for selfish and stubborn reasons only.

science is for people that needs to hold on to there own being(reality) that they created when the universal conciousness did not speak to them yet. and the things they cannot comprehent to remain saine and rational...what we also need in our human evolution! (but Religion should HAVE NEVER been forced upon onconcious and onaware people not now...and not through history) faith is a gift they all have yet to recieve...the biggest mistake in human history is forcing people in faith. people that cannot and do not believe in (god,allah,vishnu,brahman,universal conciousness) and reject it are blind...and thats ok....but its not on us to tell them they are blind...they will open there eye themselfs one day. and if they dont they dont... i think so because i wasse blind and an atheist for 20 years...and once u se... u can not close your eyes again and pretend to be blind...i wasse a ignorant fool,and i still am an ignorant fool...we all are...but if u embrace and know and understand it to be so. it is verry freeing!

yep, the biggest issue is we are so wrapped up in our own superiority we have forgotten to realise our place in the universe. people say looking at a mountain range makes them feel small, or looking at the stars makes them feel insignificant. how about looking at the idea there are many more dimensions that we can even comprehend? we think of God in a human sense (old guy, long white beard, etc) but if God created a 4 dimensional universe (time being the 4th) then he must be outside it. that's not like creating a "world" inside a box. everything is still constrained by physical laws of our existence, but if God is outside those laws and enjoys more dimensions, then how on earth can you even try to imagine what proof of his existence would be? When someone says "well prove God exists" they don't even understand what they're trying to ask. What would constitute proof? Our mortal brain cannot comprehend God. That's why you get questions like "well who created God then?". Who ever said God was constrained by time? In fact the Bible is riddled with comments that he isn't. If there is no time, why does anything need a beginning? It's about that point the human brain begins to melt as we cannot grasp the idea of time not existing. there are some theories (in the science community) of more dimensions than we can see. 10 seems to be a common theory. So before anyone tries to claim science has proved anything, just remember by it's own admission science doesn't know where 90% of the universe is, and now things we barely see 1/3 of the dimensions of the universe. How do you think you'd go in an exam where you only attended 10% of the classes, and of them could only hear 1/3 of the lecture? Which is why I say the phrase "the science is settled" is without doubt the most foolish thing ever said, in any language, in the entire history of humanity.

God has endowed man with intelligence and reason whereby he is required to determine the verity of questions and propositions. If religious beliefs and opinions are found contrary to the standards of science they are mere superstitions and imaginations; for the antithesis of knowledge is ignorance, and the child of ignorance is superstition. @@gabrielreevemusk I believe so. Honestly, when you start looking at the World as a known entity outside of your self, it becomes impossible to capacitate that you are responsible for the reality around you. You don't know anything, until you experience it, so you can't pre-order information to substantiate Objective Reality without a Subjective interface, and you can not Subjectify something not objective, meaning, to me anyway, you literally cannot constitute mental reality or physical reality, something else is responsible for the sum of Variable equation, in other words, something KNOWS and Defines the parameters. I see that as Laws, Nature, Physics, Thermodynamics, Electromagnetic Consciousness. It's all MIND. All Thought in Motion. Words. Textual Sequence. Math. I look at it like this, Absolutes and Truth Functions. -1+1 God Separates God is Unmoving and Unchanging God is Alpha and Omega Beginning and Ending God is Indivisible Everything comes from God Everything returns to God He is literally Expressing His Absolute Position. 👉 0 👈 Think about this. If 0 is Nothing. Nothing becomes EVERYTHING. It's like a COIN. It has two sides, and an edge. The Edge is Variable Reality. One side of nothing is nothing. One side of nothing is everything. What is ACTUALLY, Nothing, and Everything? It has a real world representation. It is THOUGHT. Thought, IS energy in motion. Motion constitutes physical nature. -1+1 👈 Self Made TRINITY Electromagnetic Consciousness Thermodynamics Mind 👉 Spirit/Energy 👉 Matter/Flesh I see it all like Math Spectrums, intelligence in motion. What do You think happpens when we die?
@danielmurphy7255
@danielmurphy7255 2 года назад
@@gabrielreevemusk I appreciate the consideration of God and His Judgement, the Fact of Value, Denotes Contrast and Perception, Judgement is Mathematic Determination. Designation by Accreditation. God literally wants you to Accept the Free Gift of Pyschologic Freedom, Forgiveness, Salvation and Redemption, are constitutional. It's learning to love life and that which provides it. Appreciation, Gratitude, and Thankfulness, properly accredited, is the key to understand Christ. I believe when we die, Judgement is the Sum of You. It's the actuality of your actions and their value pertaining to everything. We need Christ because we cannot constitute reality without Body and Spirit AND MIND. God Separates what He Knows is Evil from Himself. It's an ongoing Extrapolation of information that HAS value, it HAS to have a Determination of Value. That's what perception IS. Contrasts. So if we can logically determine that Thought itself is what creates, then we can logically determine that that HAS the power of Memory and Constitutional Matter, meaning, Physical Nature is Energy in the form of Thought in Motion. We, REMEMBER what we WANT to remember. Do we not? We FORGET what we don't want to remember. That's Judgement. Separation of Good and Evil. A determination between known value. Remembrance. So, we are like IDEAS then right? A piece of the whole, a unique Set of Numerical Ordering, you are a finite perception Extrapolating variable reality to constitute the Sums of Variability within the infinite. A Processor. I tell you, that your physical body is fuel, your mind is the Spark, the body is sacrifice to the Spirit. What is Evolving is The Mind, what is expanding is the Mind. Heaven is Positive, Expansion. Hell is negative. Convergence. I think once freed the body, the Energy of the Spirit has to take on a Charge. Positive, or Negative. I think Hell and Heaven are the Eternal Mind of God, being remembered, loved, Forgiven from Sin which traps the Mind. If Mind is Eternal, it's going to be the Judgement over the charge you incurred through life. Karmatic Law is the Universal Law of Compensation. To get, means to give. To Give, means to get. You where GIVEN life, you RECIEVED, so now you Must GIVE. This is Atomically True, down to the electron exchange of Atoms. It constitutes reality, the exchange is motion and thought of what works with what. Heaven and Hell are very real, and self Created, God just allows you to create what you want. That's your free will. Everything God does for you is free, a gift. What you give CREDIT to, is pretty much everything. The Lord says we're God's, we are like Stars in Heaven, and He has prepared a HOUSE for you. Like a House in the Zodiac? In Heaven? As a Star? A "New Body" made of Light, more valuable than Gold, because it creates Gold? Yeah buddy. That's beautiful, and amazing, and you can start to see God, IS the Cosmos, THAT is HIS Family. This is HIS Story. And you are His Child. You are meant to become a God, and create your own reality beyond this one. This is where you are supposed to learn how to do that. Everything is necessary for this development. God wants you to be able to Live. Adversary is Forcing Struggle, Which Forces Growth. The way the struggle between science and religion as it's been traditionally been conceptualized in popular culture is itself a part of an outdated quasi-scientific narrative which Jordan here says we'll hopefully move on from and I really hope that we do because if we turn that narrative's critical eye towards itself it's no different from what it criticizes. There is a more scientific way to view these things and which actually would allow us to get even started at solving the underlying issues. That more rational way is what Jordan is outlining here.

When I worked at a government lab in NJ, as someone with MS degrees in math and statistics, I was shocked at the attitudes of the management, some scientists, and the majority of the engineers in regard to statistical practice and planning for testing security systems. Some examples were: using incorrect methods given the data and objectives, collecting data before having a complete study or test plan, seeing.clustered data as a simple random sample (thereby underestimating standard errors and error bounds), using continuous response models on binary response data, and applying adaptive sampling on a critical mission. When these errors in reasoning and practice were pointed out, the response was to aggressively go after the credibility of the messenger, blame shift, rewrite narratives, go to alternative sources, triangulate employees against each other, and use shame based punishment strategies such as demotion and negative performance reviews. So, it went from errors in reasoning and a Duning-Kruger state to a full-blown toxic and narcissistic work environment. The pressures to publish and / or satisfy project deadlines, career advancement, grandiosity and the non-acknowledgement of technical limitations in training the need to be viewed as an expert by peers, the need to control subordinates, and the need to defeat those viewed as competition or career threats are all drivers of the misuse of statistical science in both reasoning and practice The "sexiness" and certifiability of statistical language, the ease of use of statistical software, and the belief that the internet sources can keep the trained statistician out of the loop are confounding conditions. Scientific thought has made tremendous strides over the centuries, while religious thought hasn't changed all that much. For that reason, the problems with religion are obvious but the problems with science are more subtle. I think the biggest problem with science is it CANNOT tell us what's good and what's evil. @Gaboon Viper If you did some research about the criteria needed to be accepted as a miracle by the Catholic Church you would know there was a huge gulf between standards. The literature about the miracles in Lourdes will attest the stringency of those checks. The number of miracles where cancer is stopped and healing of the tissues is astonishing - but very few are accepted by the panel of scientists and doctors because the previous medical history of the patient is too short or an x-Ray is missing. There are both believers and atheists in the panel of “judges”. By any normal standard these would be accepted as miracles especially where the noticeable onset of the cancer is recent and so the duration of medical notes and record taking is too short. In addition the “recovered patient” must continue to deliver medical notes for up to 10 years after the miracle. Most people cannot afford this and so give up the attempt. They are happy to get on with their lives rather than continue to jump through hoop after hoop. There is much truth in the adage “For the believer no proof is needed and for the disbelievers no proof will ever be sufficient.” Good luck in your search. But have a look at the Shroud of Turin evidence which is conclusive. There seems to be a lot of misunderstanding in the comments, so I would like to try and break down the contents of this video for those interested. Feel free to share your thoughts, correct my interpretation, or engage in respectful dialogue by commenting below. The primary thesis is that religion is still "in control of" science, and it will probably stay that way (for however long, who knows). However; Peterson's use of the word "religion" does not imply belief in the proposition that God exists, and is not the "foolish belief in outdated propositional quasi-scientific hypotheses" as he states in the video. It also does not imply belief or faith in any specific religious doctrine (Religion is further defined below). Religion is a combination of the personal and collective narratives and mythologies that guide our thinking and behavior. At the 2:00 mark, he provides an example regarding how statistics is used in the social sciences, and Peterson uses this example to support his thesis by showing that even this important scientific tool is still ruled by "religion" or rather, the dominant myths and ideologies (our narratives, in other words) that govern us which are responsible for a lot of "replication" (the repeat of specific studies) in modern research. Again, religion here is the narratives that we conform too that are our sources of cognitive biases and so on that lead us to interpret statistical data one way over the other (as there is not scientifically defined "perfect" way to interpret statistical data). At the 3:30 mark, he supports his thesis further by defining "religion" as the narrative structures we perceive life through, and claims that "we cannot frame our perceptions outside a narrative structure, and there are no narrative structures without value", and he then he claims that narrative is united by an "ethical structure" (largely formed by collective narratives and societal meta religion, I add) and that no one likes nor wants "internal ethical disunity" which is what results if there is no "religion" (even scientific religion, again, no implication of the "God proposition"). Internal ethical disunity is what happens when someone doesn't know how to live, what to do, how to be, etc. It's a life of uncertainty and confusion with no purpose or meaning. It's despair and no-one wants it. At the 5:00 mark, this same point is emphasized with another example about marriage and he explains why infidelity hurts so much; because it disrupts you at a "deep and profound" level, which is also the definition of "religious"; deep and profound in the sense that your core or most fundamental beliefs that make up your narrative are disrupted. That's your religion as it is made up of those core beliefs which he defines as the beliefs that all other beliefs rely on. At 6:00, he simply says that we are only propositional in our thinking but not always in our actions. We watch movies that are purely fictional but enjoy them because they appeal to our liking and innate desire for narrative. So that's just another piece of evidence that we need narrative. At 7:00; he exclaims that we use narrative to teach children for this reason. He wraps up by saying we communicate in narratives because we think in narratives. Again; it's more evidence that we instinctively crave/need narrative (which is religion!). Ultimately, "religion" is the binding narrative and/or "mythology" that guides our ethics and purpose at the micro (individual) and macro (societal) level. It doesn't imply belief in the God proposition or faith in any specific religious doctrine, but it does imply that we think in narratives that help us form solid ethical compasses to live life with a sense of internal unity; otherwise, without this structure that we seemingly need, we would be confused, lost, and living in despair. Thus each of us is in some way "religious", living and conforming to a set of beliefs, many of which are meta and shared with others in our communities and some which are personal, and these religions will continue to govern the decisions we make in science using the Scientific method, scientific tools, and state of the art technology no matter how advanced they become. In this way, "religion" conquers science, but that doesn't mean that science "loses". It just means that we need to be more responsible and conscientious regarding how we organize our religions. Thanks for reading, and if you disagree with my interpretation or any part of it, please respectfully post your thoughts below with as much support as you see fit. Looking forward.

@@benmorrison8533 He's building that "bridge" for himself because he's ultimately trying to answer questions about the importance, necessity, or inevitable existence of "religion" even in the realm of Science and is asking publicly what to do about it. You're kind of right that he should not use the word "religion" as this sort of umbrella term for ethical narrative because it allows for creationists to too easily confirm their preexisting beliefs by misinterpreting his claims. But that's always going to happen, and we cannot blame them because confirmation bias is extremely difficult to avoid. We all need or needed to train ourselves to resist that temptation. I'm okay at it because I'm a Philosophy major who is trained to be skeptical (although I'm no logician), and I'm sure you've got your advantages, but not everyone has cultivated this skill so I think we should be more empathetic and work together to cultivate them further together with mutual understanding as the end goal, because it promotes better communication as a species and societal unity.

A different caveman (a scientist, Praised be They), made a different shaft, (an ICBM), and attached a different point (a nuclear warhead). With this new type of "spear", tens of millions could be incinerated. Conclusion: human nature never improves. But maybe it can be Redeemed.

Well... professor Peterson kinda gets away with this argument. If you rely on statistics to "represent" the scientific discovery and advance, good luck. They are just an auxiliary method, a shortcut that mathematicians and physicists like to use now and then on their way to solving problems, but by no means should you try and explain the universe through it. Statistics can be wrong. They are just a prediction.

2:52 Being a genuine scientist that searches for truth automatically makes me religious - and the only way for me to object this classification is ostensibly to define religion as "the foolish belief in outdated, quasi-scientific hypotheses", instead? I for one disagree with both propositions. I can respect religion, while not being religious myself. Religion does neither hold a patent on the idea of wanting things to be better (2:55), nor on depths and profoundness (5:56). The very notion seems outragously discriminatory towards non-belivers (agnostics and atheists alike). Not caring for/believing in god does neither imply worshiping the devil, nor being a shallow, unethical creature. Constructing such a dichotomy appears rather foolish and chauvinistic. The standing and well-established definition (according to e.g. the oxford dictionary) of religion is "the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods". Simply redefining religion by saying that being religious has nothing to do with beliving in god (6:00) is a childish game. Everyone can become everything just through the redefinition of well-established definitions. The problem with such redefinitions is that talking to each other does not make sense anymore because we lose any comprehension.
@mahmoodaalam235
@mahmoodaalam235 2 года назад
It's not impossible for the definitions to be wrong, one could argue that the religion got its definition because of all the critics across history strawmanning traditional religious values and practices, I suspect it might have been ruthlessly and unfairly reduced to a mere representation of irrationality which might be the reason why modern life seem to be devoid of any value and full of nihilism trying to fullfill itself with cheap pleasures. He still has an argument even if we don't use the word religion, I think that we can still discover values through evolutionary psychology and subjective experiences so in a way it might be possible for us to determine the ought from what is. This is just what I think, feel free to share your objections if you have.

@mahmoodaalam235 2 года назад
@Gaboon Viper It isn't merely a backfiring reaction upon loosing the long held moral authority from religious conservatives who make the claims that I said even though I actually don't agree with their arguments, the loss of religious faith also removed many values that were good that had served humanity so far and it left people without meaning so we are burdened tremendously to figure out meaning ourselves because we could no longer soothe ourselves with religious dogma, Jordan's point is that you can't get rid of value and that Scientific truth and rationality can't give you meaning and a sense of morality which is indeed a deep philosophical argument against atheism, I still think that we don't have comprehensive sense of true meaning upon which we can orient ourselves.
@mahmoodaalam235
@mahmoodaalam235 2 года назад
@Gaboon Viper What I meant when I said that loss of religious faith removed many values is that I think we might have lost faith in good too because if GOD is dead then everything is permitted if you disagree then you must believe in something, you just don't know what exactly if you think you don't, and the thing you believe the most is what GOD is "according to Jordan" so if you believe in love because it's the best then there is your God, his definition here is not metaphysical as many Atheist might presume. In the case of meaning what I meant is that people who don't think GOD exist are orienting and finding purpose in their lives around philosophies or things that will not be ultimately or at scale meaningful or fulfilling e.g The capitalistic dream, Alpha/Sigma man, Consumerism, Pleasure and Happiness etc which are important and worth considering but not enough and so I think these are not truly meaningful or ultimately virtuous. No one here is advocating for any kind of authority so there is no issue there. Philosophy can probably can give you meaning and a sense of morality on the basis of valued presuppositions which you might find self-evident but I'm not sure if it will be eventually good it's not guaranteed that you will end with the virtues that you have now by religions if you never knew about them to begin with, I do not identify as theist, I think I am atheist because I don't want beliefs system is general, beliefs system in the absence of questioning corrodes and backward us, I think we can get a sense of true meaning and morality by knowing ourselves psychologically and there are some "subjective fact" of upon recognition of which (phenomenologically)brings meaning and well being such as there is no free will, quality of thoughts determine quality of experience, any sense of self(ego) is the cause of suffering and true meaning is found when attention is in present moment which means when things are being done for its own pursuit/sake, and there are possibly many more, I think these truths not values(As Jordan would think of them) are evident to us when we pay attention to and are aware of our subjective experience which is referred to as the practice of Meditation/Mindfullness, but Jordan differs here he thinks you can't get it without cultural stories which communicate morality and I am still questioning that. I looking forward to Sam Harris's and Jordan debate for that.

If you're desire is to win the argument, it helps to polarize everything into binary opposites: black and white, good and bad etc. Jordan asks, " is the scientific enterprise going to win out over the religious enterprise?" He then answers himself " no " and adds " all the decisions about how to handle your data, those are religious decisions " then equating anything other than a religious approach as something in which you're only going to " let your venal ambition and your malevolent competition and your desire to dominate be the determining factor in your application of statistical process, or are you going to be imbued with the spirit of truth? Then adding " a genuine scientist is a religious scientist, because they want things to be better. " I am sorry, but this is cloaking dogma in scientific terms while presenting " genuine science " as religious dogma. This is some serious B.S.

Personally I agree with Peterson here. I have seen a lot of debates where secular humanists are pushed to ground their moral code in something without using religion. (Matt Dillahunty has the best arguments for that I have seen). But from all the arguments I have seen my current belief is that they start with religious moral framework (usually Christianity) then work backwards to try and find a secular justification for that moral value. (particularly getting to most peoples believe in the value of human life without the "created in God's image" bit I find very lacking). So with that in mind, if they need to make a moral judgement to interpret data, and their moral code is grounded in a religious framework through culture immersion, then they would be religious scientist. Tom Holland lays it out very well in comparing a few modern day values that are taken for granted and started with Christianity with Roman values. It's pretty clear that valuing human life is not normal when looking at ancient cultures that put more stock in glory or success. I will also point out that Peterson might have Brett Weinstein's theory in mind here. As Brett thinks that religion developed as a result of evolution with the mythologies being used to pass on warnings about long term consequences that would be very hard to portray. I think Peterson sees religion in a very similar way and would probably say that the moral lessons in Star Trek is religious.

Science is actually ordained by God. Gen 1:28 Adam is instructed to "subdue" the earth. I don't think that means batter it into submission, rather to use it for your own benefit. In order to 'subdue' it and benefit from it, you need to understand how it works. Rom 1:20 "the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen" is what inspired a lot of early European scientists - look into the mechanics of the world and you'll find God Let's just gloss over how Paul could have written that line almost 2,000 years ago. How can invisible things be clearly seen? And how would Paul know the world was made up of atoms and the like, invisible to the eye but could one day be clearly seen? Did he have an early microscope? Anyway, the point is the whole basis of creating Adam was to tend the garden of Eden. Adam would need to understand how it worked. And Prov 25:2 says it's the glory of God to conceal a thing, but the honour of kings to search out a matter. God has hidden his secrets in plain sight, we just need to go looking. Having said all that, I was in hospital with a heart issue some years back and the doctor world do his rounds, look at my charts, and say "we must keep praying". I appreciate that Jordan Peterson acknowledges that it's impossible to do true science without some faith. He starts with a good point that in order for their to be objective value of anything, there must be a mind giving that thing or person value. However, when he says that something must "unite our ethical structure" i.e. create a system of morals and ethics... then explain the reason why is because we will be confused and that will lead to stress and anxiety, that's a weak argument that can easily be disproven. There are many people who live a lie and are quite comfortable fooling others, and perhaps fooling themselves. However, If we are "true scientist", then we must surrender to the truth. And I think this is what every "ashiest" scientist refuses to do. Instead, they are willing to reinterpret truth, so that it can be subjective or relative; and so it can be susceptible to personal choice. Or, create a theory of an alternative reality that will allow them to avoid the truth altogether - (e.g. multiverse theory etc.)

Wherever in this video JP says 'religion', try substituting ' Deep and profound Christian moral values'.

Once a man was talking to God, and he told God, we do not need you for nothing, we can do every thing now. The man then told God, we can even create a Man. God smiled, and told him, OK, what's next. The man told God I am going to create a man now, and reached down to get some dirt, but God said, hold on there, get your own dirt.

So therein is the problem. Science and religion are not at odds. All truth will be consistent across domains. The fact that the Bible says that all of nature will point towards the existence and power of God. What we find in the social sciences is that religion has a positive effective on well being. What we find in the natural and physical sciences is that the entire universe was created and that the cause must exist outside of our reality.

I am a religious scientist! I am currently building an ark in my backyard with the help of a chimp, who is the proof that we don’t originate from them… since he is having troubles with using electric drills. Thank God us religious scientists will be the first to discover that earth is few thousands years old.
