Jonathan has really stepped up his emotional game this season. Whether it's confronting his parents over hiding how sick Lois is, or connecting with Sara's little sister, or reminding Jordan how awesome his powers are, Jon's developing a knack for telling people what they need to hear. I think it helps that Michael Bishop who's now playing him can project level-headed strength and compassion in a way Jordan Elsass never quite did.
Mmm, I think Jordan Elsass was also able to do that. I think the relationship between the two brothers is wonderfully well written and that makes it easier for the actors to do their job
Jordan is likely immune to alcohol, just like his father. Clark himself sees nothing wrong with drinking wine with Lois and then flying off to play Superman after having done so.
@@redscul129 dude you cant be a grown man and think like "yea jordan was right" lol fucc that shlt they made plans with his dad let him down and still he show respect and let them go and now they lie to him like that and facts jorda is a looser he only wen to tha party just to keep a eyey on sarah that. he didt even have fun, that clown like the pain to much. lol the guy like L to much.
@@danieldickson8591 - Clark isn't the best parent and that has, repeatedly, put his sons in *life-threatening danger!* He should be grateful that the boys don't blow his cover just to get Clark's parental rights taken away from him! Clark nitpicks the little things (especially since it is doubtful that Jordan even can get drunk anymore than Clark himself can), but expects the boys to just cope with the supervillains that keep showing up on the front lawn and handling their near-death experiences like he and Lois do.
In this episode especially this part. Jordan got on my nerves. He got jealous of Sarah talking to another guy. He felt left out, sure but should’ve walked away once he noticed they didn’t want him to join the convo. The attitude he did with Clark was very disrespectful. Hopefully Jordan becomes more mature and realises that Sarah isn’t for him in this point in time and he and Clark patch things up.
We get people saying Jordan is too good for Sarah, and other people saying the opposite. The fact is, they're teenagers, and they both have pasts full of issues, and they've both screwed up and will again. That doesn't make them bad people, it makes them real young people.
Jon and Jordan need to appreciate the fact they have a father who’s really trying his best. Already has the whole world on his shoulders. Jordan, especially, should’ve stayed home. Had no friends at that party. Jon, at least, had a great reason to go because of Candace.
@@mechamogaka6964 these were the same kids that were distraught when they thought he was never coming back from Bizarro World. They need to be grateful man, tomorrow is not promised!
@@redscul129 I see you in all the comments hahaha yes, he can have fun in his own way, and why doesn't he? why does he only look at sara like a disgusting mf? he is acting as if sarah were his wife wtf the boy has no friends nor does he try to make is antisocial he just went to harass sarah.
2:49 that scene had me laughing. Tyler hoechlin is one of the best clark kent/ superman after henry cavill in my opinion. i hope superman and lois gets renewed for season 4.
I don’t really feel bad for Jordan honestly, he wasn’t even invited to the party in the first place he was only there because Sara texted Jonathan and Jonathan told Jordan about it. At the party he harasses Junior for just talking to Sara and tries to get him to slip up or something. He chose to go to a party and drink rather than spend time with his Dad. They barely get any time to spend with their dad because he’s Superman, he has plenty of times to hang out with Sara and he rarely gets time to spend time with his Dad, I don’t blame Jonathan because with his job he rarely gets any time to spend with Candace anymore
Just a hypothetical, he develops his powers at the beginning of next season in the midst of Superman fighting Doomsday and the three of them defeat Doomsday together
It’s not so much as put him in his place but it showed Clark that Jon was always the mature one of the siblings. And that he actually learnt many lessons the past year. After the xk problem Jon actually matured even more than before. And the fact that he handled the situation (party scene) with Clark better than Jordan. That’s why Jon will always be my fav twin. He truly deserves powers
Jordan is trying to be his own person and because he's half Kryptonian and Superman's son he has this sense of invincibility so yes he's feeling that he should be against Clark's teachings.
@@omarcogle1965 - Clark does seem to have a problem with only being able to focus on one son at a time. Remember how he promised Jonathan that the new Fortress would be for the whole family, and that Lara had some Kryptonian tech that Jon might be interested in learning about? Skip ahead and Jon's prediction that the Fortress would only be for those in the family (Clark and Jordan) who can fly turned out to be true.
@@callanflanagan8706 - Jordan is a teenager approaching adulthood. Clark seems to have forgotten that *he* used to disobey Martha and do superhero things while he was still in high school despite her disapproval. It's actually pretty common for parents to forget, or whitewash, their own teenage rebellions when the tables are turned and they are the parent. Also, Clark and Lois made the mistake of justifying 14 years of lying and absentee parenting using the argument that Clark was "saving lies". The problem being that Jordan can make that exact same argument now.
You mean just like real life teenagers? Besides, Clark and Lois deserve it. They are hypocrites who lie to people constantly and routinely act as if law and government don't apply to them.
@@ljebaylor1604 - Not sure if you've noticed, but "flawed" and "edgy" characters are industry standard in today's entertainment. Industry people disdain characters that aren't messed up one way or another. So it's kind of hard to find shows where the characters really are sympathetic. This show seemed like an exception in S1. But S2 and S3 have been infected by the trend of deconstructing characters and making them more jerkish.
@@colettec5614 - In fact, usually quite a bit more disrespectful than the Kent boys are. Keep in mind that dear old Dad's pontificating about "living a normal life" has done *nothing* to protect the boys from supervillains showing up at the farm to try to kill or possess them. Likewise, Clark has been so focused on training Jordan's powers that he didn't bother discussing the other issues associated with being a superhero until after his failure to do so became a problem. He's also a hypocrite who forgets that he used to openly disobey Martha, who didn't like him using his powers.
Facts, Sarah is nothing but a disrespectful dumbass hypocrite jerk she doesn’t know what the hell she wants first she tells she tells Jordan she loves him and that she’s never felt this way about anyone and then yet she cheated on him with a girl and dumped his ass for nothing
@@sanhcman666 - Sarah decided that she wanted to be "friends". But since then she has treated Jordan even more rudely than she did when they were dating. This is why Jordan *is* too good for Sarah. He could have just flown straight home from the party and not stopped to save her and Junior from a car wreck that was entirely her own fault.
@@sanhcman666 - I think Jordan is way more into Sarah than she has ever been into him. He does need to accept that she's a self-centered little b---- and find another girlfriend.
Do any of you remember that episode in smallville when Jon got powers to get Clark out of Red K and they fight it was the beginning of season 3, well i would of love one of those fights between Clark and Jordan because he deserves his but kicked by his dad😂
That's one the things that irritated me about Smallville. Red K is a wild card, it's supposed to have a different effect every time he's exposed. In Smallville though, for Clark it was just an excuse to spit on the parents, whom turned their own lives upside down, and put their own lives at risk, just to take him in and give him a home, and a safe place to grow up. I've seen as far as season 8, and I'm still trying figure out why people think Smallville was such a fantastic show. SMH😒
@@fredaf3700 well you’re right about that in smallville whenever clark did something very bad specially the first few seasons he just walk away being bad or disappearing, his parents didn’t blame him but in fact he was responsible for many bad things that happened it annoyed me sometimes, In smallville clark annoyed me and in Superman and Lois Jordan annoys me 😅
Yeah I remember this fight, back when Smallville was still fresh and quite good, all considered. Special effects were especially good for a tv show, still hold up to this day.
@@BGatts666 oh well I agree on that point. The special effects redfined television. Well done. However, Lex Luthor was more relatable then arrogant, ignorant Clark. When your 'bad guy' is more sympathetic than your 'hero', you don't have a very good show
Whoa the disrespect is crazy... even though Jon did nothing like drinking, you don't behave like that! I mean are they raising teenagers or cats with hair problems or something?
That's the problem, Clark and Lois haven't come to terms with the boys being 16. Clark in particular doesn't seem to grasp that he will lose the right to banish them to their rooms and ground them in less than two years! Now is when he needs to devote time to preparing them for adulthood, not treating them like naughty children. This where countless parents screw up IRL. They think that they can wait until the 18th birthday to start talking about adulthood with their kids. But by then it's too late.
for what? why does he only look at sara like a disgusting mf? he is acting as if sarah were his wife wtf the boy has no friends nor does he try to make is antisocial he just went to harass sarah.
Dawg, Jordan most definitely cant feel alcohol, and clark should know as much, i dont know why it was made into such a big deal, the kid is literally half kryptonian xD
While Jordan may be immune to it, its still in his system and if a cop tested him, then Jordan still gets go to jail or whatever happens for underage drinking. Because Jordan and Clark still intend on having Human lives, they need to play by the rules and suffer its consequences as well.
It's called being 16. Jonathan also only recently dialed back his habitual sarcasm when speaking to his parents because of all the trouble he got into in S2. Sarah already had that mouth towards her parents at 14, especially her father.
Clark is overreacting to Jordan drinking considering that, like him, Jordan can't actually get drunk. It might as well have been soda pop. But the reality here is that Clark got angry because the boys went to party instead of going to a wrestling match that only Clark was really interested in. He's kind of an overbearing and hypocritical father. Especially given how he lied to them for the first 14 years of their lives and has repeatedly gotten them into deadly danger. In real life, the authorities would have already stripped him of his paternal rights due to reckless child endangerment.
Just bc Jordan can’t get drunk doesn’t mean it’s not the illegal for him to drink bc the world doesn’t know he has powers and that would kinda be unfair to Jon bc he can’t drink but it would be stupid to let his brother drink
@@micahfranklin4560 - Clark is in no position to judge. Aside from being a literal illegal alien, he routinely crosses international borders without passing through customs and immigration, even if he's just flying around for the sake of it. He acts above the government of the nation that he lives in, and indeed all other Earth governments. Plus, he's a pathological liar. He's kind of a role model for the idea that superheroes get to decide which laws they abide by and which ones they choose to ignore.
@@daniels7907 Jordan does the exact same thing tho, there have been multiple episodes in season 3 where he’s crossed the boundaries of his father. And you also have to remember that even tho Clark was out saving the world he was still routinely in his children’s lives. Jordan’s just immature a selfish. Him and Jon lied to their dad when they simply could’ve just said they didn’t feel like it.
Because Clark is a very hypocritical parent. Kind of like how he used to outright disobey Martha and go racing off to bust criminals and just generally using his powers, which she disapproved of. He also drinks wine regularly, confident that it won't be a problem if he has to fly off and play Superman, because he can't get intoxicated. The hypocrisy comes from Clark being a stickler for law - but only where the boys are concerned. Clark and Lois routinely ignore the law when it doesn't suit them. Case-in-point: Clark letting his brother Tal-Rho go free because he and Lois decided that he was reformed. They didn't even bother to question the DoD or discuss the government view given the amount of lost lives and property damage that Tal caused. All that could be forgiven because he helped *Clark!* And Clark often acts above law and government.
Well actually there’s a chance that Jordan can get drunk bc he is half human and it would be totally unfair to his twin brother if he could drink but his brother can’t
@@ljebaylor1604 - The half-human argument raises the question as to why Jordan doesn't feel half the effects of *everything!* Also, it's kind of trade-off. Like Clark, Jordan can drink. But if he can't get drunk, then what's the point? He might as well drink water. Clark admits that he drinks wine mostly because Lois does. Certainly whatever beer Jordan drank didn't hinder him from flying in one window of a car that was rolling downhill, grabbing the two people inside, and getting them out safely. All at super speed.
@@daniels7907 but Jon still feels super shadowed by his brother bc he has powers plus either way Clark is still his father and said he’s not allowed to drink and Jordan was SUPER disrespectful
@@ljebaylor1604 - Again, normal for a teenager. Definitely so for one who has had to put up with Clark for a father. Between 14 years of absentee parenting and lying about why, followed by two years of Clark bringing supervillains home to try to kill them, repeatedly, it's amazing that Jordan and Jonathan haven't blowen Clark's cover just to get the state to revoke his parental rights.
