Relentless assault doesn't work with etali, because it's cast in combat and not in a main phase, see wording of relentless assault, it just fizzles

Good catch! The guys didn't see the wording on that when they cast it unfortunately. I guess it doesn't come up all that often unless playing against Etali.

Yeah, a surprisingly large number of extra combat spells say "after this main phase", as you'd come to discover while building a Velomachus deck. Savage Beating and World at War are the only instants/sorceries that work how you'd like.

Correct, but It doesnt fizzle since it doesnt have any targets. And it still untaps all attacking creatures.

I'm surprised how strong Rograkh and Keleth can go. My Rograkh Keleth is just Rograkh and his mighty steeds. All the creatures are things Rograkh can ride into battle and I have all the extra combat step spells. There is so much fun in using Rograkh.

Minor narrative (perhaps gameplay?) quibble - Jori En's draw trigger would happen before the Gitaxian Probe's trigger since Jori En's draw is on spell cast.

I just want to point out that on gatherer and in companion, both state Relentless Assault only creates an extra combat phase if the spell resolves during the main phase. It's the same with most spells that create extra combat phases.

It's something a few people have asked for, but it's a fair amount of additional work on my part, so I'm hesitant to bother with it unless it's really in demand / helpful.

@@MTGMuddstah It isn't helpful. The opening hands aren't even particularly helpful since no one goes for fast combo. Don't bother with cards in hand.

Hey, I'm Cam! I play Mental Misstep because there's a lot of 1 mana plays in my meta, so I like to have some interaction around. It can also stop some combos by chance or value engines with low cmc artifacts for example.

At 11:00 when Raf casts the evacuate for the second time it was when Nathan attempted to move to combat meaning after evacuation resolved it was still the precombat main phase and Nathan could have cast Etali, equip the boots and attempt to move to combat again right?

There is a time after moving phases but before attackers are declared where he cast it (beginning of combat phase). This meaning that he could not go back and recast things then swing with them.

I think when Scott played Divine Reckoning Nylea was a creature he had dromoka (1), garruk +2, nylea +1, and mayael +1 so he had 5 devotion to green I'd assume since all get sacrificed at the same time she would have gone too

Two questions, Why Nathan Etali survive the divine reckoning if the Etali had Shroud? and How Scott was able to equip that boros aura over his commander with protection to every color except red?

Shroud only stops "Target". Divine Reckoning does not interact with the greaves in any way. Scott played two partner commanders, setting his "commander's color identity" to red and white.

^yup, I had to look it up because I thought Commander's Plate gave a red partner pro 4 color, but they don't gain pro white in this case due to having a white partner

Not that it matters much, but second Evacuation couldn't pick up Xenagos because at the moment of resolving of spell his devotion was 6, and he was not a creature yet.

He could not attach squees embrace to Roger with commanders plate on him. Roger has protection from white, which includes white enchantment auras

Found the mistakes thread. Also noticed the relentless assault mishap. If it’s cast in combat from Etali’s trigger it doesn’t work due to timing restrictions.

@@Wizardofexisting The Assault mishap has already been mentioned, and I've pinned a comment to the top of the video so people can be more informed. The Embrace play is actually fine. Please refer to this Gatherer ruling: "If you have two commanders and attach Commander’s Plate to one, it has protection from each color not in your two commanders’ combined color identity. (2020-11-10)"

Isn't Squee's Embrace an illegal cast targeting Rograkh because Commander's Plate gave it pro white? I know his deck's color identity is RW, but it says colors other than the CREATURE's color identity, not deck color identity.

He could have kept bouncing stuff sure, but Nathan would have just kept recasting Inferno Titan to bolt Raf on each of his turns. Nathan would also draw into a Woodfall Primus which was going to start hitting lands as well.

Shouldn't Nathan be able to just redeploy his creatures, equip one with Lightning Greaves and then attack after Raf cast Evacuation? Raf has to cast it either in Nathans first Main Phase, and then prio gets back to Nathan and he could cast Etali again and attack; or Raf casts Evacuation during combat, but then could only do so after attackers are declared and Nathan gets the attack triggers from Sun Titan and Etali? See 10:50 for example

There's a "beginning of combat" step, before the "declare attackers" step, which is when you cast these spells to mess with attackers.

Okay so this is really minor and I'm not sure that you'll see this but it's been bothering me a while across many of your videos and I feel obliged to point it out. "To which [someone] responds to" is a tautology. It's "which [someone] responds to" or "to which [someone] responds". Again, very minor and I hope I'm not coming across as petty here. I really enjoy your content.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Squee's embrace doesn't work while commander's plate is attached to Rograk because it has protection from white due to rograk only being a red commander not a red-white commander

Hey dude, chill a bit. When someone tutors like that on turn 1, going first, they're going to start searching without thinking to wait. That's totally normal. But if I'm going to counter them, I want to make sure that I get their attention before they start resolving their spell. So you just throw it on the table to get it out with a laugh and a smile. It's a game bro, nothing personal.
