José Carreras is one of the most successful tenors in the world. Now he wants to stop. The film, which brought him to sing, he looks at every now and then: "The Great Caruso" with Mario Lanza in the title role. "The film is now 65 years old, I have it on DVD naturally. Whenever I look at him, I enjoy it just as I did then, when I saw him for the first time. " PANORAMA : STAR-TENOR JOSÉ CARRERAS / Von Martin Scholz | Veröffentlicht am 05.06.2016 |
Wonderful! Thank you very much for sharing. This was on New Year's Eve (Silvester concert) on December 31, 1991. I was there and still have a printed programme of this event. It was a wonderful evening. (And my boy-friend of that time was member of the orchestra.)
José Carreras is one of the famous Three Tenors. He is Spanish and he was singing in English. His renditions were wonderful and emotion filled. Stop hating. No one of his distracted is a Classical Music Critic as most of you didn't even know who he was. You are trying to defame a well loved Tenor, who is World Renowned. Loved the performance. Thank you Enrico.
Letitia Latifah Najieb after a long battle with leukemia and he made a promised to God that he would do "fund -raisers". to help support the leukemia foundation if he survived the cancer treatment ......once he did and recovered his ability to sing....he became most instrumental in uniting together for " the time ever the three -tenors". Luciano Pavarotti,,,Plácido Domingo,,,and Jose Carreras....who then performed in many stages around the world and became a world wide sensation as well as contributed a great deal to the Leukimia Foundation.....Those that criticized him are just acting out of their own "ignorance prejudices and hate". and are incapable of appreciating his value as a human being....let along the fact that he was the one who decided to put together the very special event that themselves enjoyed and now want to inject their hate and ignorance where it was none existent.....instead of thanking them all for their great contribution to the Leukemia Foundation..and to the Arts..world-wide....through out the process Jose Carreras always kept a low profile and was rather discrete about personal ordeals......which many in the audience were not aware of the unusual circumstances that had brought them together on the same stage..........
Memories of you will always be in my mind and my heart. My tribute to you will be your dedication to beating csncer and to me and our children my love.
The more I listen to Carreras, the better he sounds to me. What tears my heart out is to realize that what we are hearing is Carreras' magnificent voice of some 30 years ago.
@esclarmonde1: You should not "label" excellent singers. They are very generous singing for all publics. Not only for the elite opera-goers as, I presume, you are... Agarall is excellent, but very distant. There is a reason why Carreras is so much loved, mind you.
Harsh criticism is welcome but not personal attacks using insulting or condescending ! What Makes a Great Tenor? von Joan Sutherland The tenor Rolando Villazon takes us inside the world of the sexiest and most risky of all operatic voices. It's a journey which includes some of the great names of the past, such as Pavarotti, Caruso and Lanza, and some of the brightest stars performing today; including Domingo, Alagna and Florez. We hear how they tackle their most famous roles
The musical arrangement of this song is very captivating.....but the fact that the lyrics do not pertain to a "human- beings-feelings". but to a common "street cat". makes this song just an overdramatized -musical exercise in irrelevancy......since no human can relate to those lyrics .....unless you are a street cat looking for a sound (a meal)..in the pavement. Maybe coming from "a mouse??"...............Mr Jose Carreras is one of the great Tenors but this songs lyrics Don't do any justice to the musical arrangement.....and they should probably be better left to the cats in the show and nothing else..........
