Joseph Anderson is the one mainstream game reviewer with a sensible take on God of War Ragnarok. This game was the biggest mess I've ever played, but it did good enough at pretending to be deep that it's tricked the whole internet
In the year the game came out, I don't think I have ever seen a person formulate their opinion in a reasonable way. No not explaining yourself, no opinions as facts, just stating the flaws clearly without ten layers of: "it's just marvel writing". Personally I had a blast playing the game and only really noticed the massive pacing issues. I liked the general themes of the game, but I'm not a writer. I think I can look past things like the messy writing, Birgir and Ironwood though, there is a lot of good in there I'm not willing to give up.

@@user-cs2je3fs8e Like I said I'm not a writer and generally not very critical of games. I didn't say for anyone to look past those issues, just stating I do as that's how I most enjoy games. I can acknowledge that something isn't that good and still enjoy it, I hold my enjoyment of something above weather or not it is actually good. Although I do appreciate the people who do point out issues to attempt to make these things better for the future. As for my hypocrisy: The gameplay is smooth The characters are great to watch interact with each other, even if flawed The game as a whole is stunning to look at The soundtrack is punchy and pertains to specific situations very well There is a wide and detailed variety of places to explore The side quests boost the main story, in a way that you can come back to do them whenever you want though The emotional scenes like Brok's death hold a certain gutpunch that should be applauded even if not earned The overwhelming amount of builds you can go with is ridiculous The weapons you use have their own distinct personalities when you use them or in cutscenes The enemy variety and quality is bordering on some of the older games The amount of accessibility options is outstanding The Metrovania style level design is implemented very well The sound design and quality is some of the best I have ever heard I just see my own opinion as something no one will look at and therefor can't be criticised, thanks for showing me it's not.
@@ultimate1769 First, If you don't want your opinion to be criticised, don't post it in the internet for everyone to see. Second, "well, I like this game, everyone else is just formulate their opinions as facts" - you formulated your opinion as fact in the comment above. And then shield yourself with "I don't want to be criticised". Nice logic here.
@user-cs2je3fs8e I agree that I shouldn't have posted it without thinking it would have been critisised, but I was pretty damn clear in my original and second comment that these are my personal opinions, not facts. I liked and I think aren't statements as facts they are clearly opinions. I'm not trying to use it as a shield and I have realised, through this comment, that people may actually take my opinion seriously. I made a mistake I am human, it happens. I didn't expect flak for a comment on a year old video with 600 views, sorry. It's not that I didn't want my opinion to be critisised, it's that I didn't expect it to be, it never has been. It honestly felt good for someone to take it seriously.
