@forward_ever_ever2595 Yuh right. Quite here in Canada and at leas' since I was las' in T&T (1997) I missing Solo Apple J. Dat is boss! ps: I could get a good roti by trinitodbone, but I cyah get Solo Apple J!
....Your taste buds might be a bit off....don't you think? I have tasted worst in Canada and I must say people consume it like tea and coffee.....it's a good tasting soft drink along with peadrax and cydrax....they are my fav...all-time ......boisson gazeuse!
@@alshartryan3630 oh well, it is the truth. It is my honest opinion of the product, terrible flavor. Not all the time we should hold back what needs to be said in fear of offending someone else. I know Trini people love the brand Solo but in reality it is because it is cheap and has become a tradition to drink a red Solo while eating a roti. I respect that. However, it is a terribly tasting soft drink.
@@ammintuitivecreations4590 No nothing off about my taste buds at all. It is a cheap soft drink that has an awful flavor, in my opinion. Trinis love it because it's affordable to wash down a nice roti with. It has become a tradition to them so they will swear by it. But if they could afford a Coca Cola they would rather drink that. Why? Because it's not a nasty tasting Solo drink...Peardrax is ok, add a little water to it and serve it cold, it's nice.
🇹🇹 The brand Solo soft drinks isn't responsible for ppl.becoming diabetics this is because many ppl.don't understand & take responsibility & what moderation is ! It's an awsome company & employing thousands & earn this country forex 👏
The panned view of all the old versions of the Solo cans at (0:47), especially the Cream Soda, brought back a lot of memories. Nice job on this documentary.
Solo still is the best tasting soft drink. The country needs to support them more, also would like to see them create an energy drink that will surpass monster and red bull. Yu eat ah doubles, pelau, roti, stew chicken with red bean, rice and provisions..... Solo is the real drink to accompany it. May God bless and expand the company even more.
Solo Apple J was given to the students of St.Francois College, when it came out and today,it is still standing tall.I no longer see Solo Ginger ale,the best.
I believe he had huge amibitions that paid off but the moral of the story was the turning point that was changing his name to avoid the oppressive discrimination from Christian Whites who did not want to do business with a man with an Hindu name. I was amazed to see that he really officially changed the name to a Christian name that his later generations now all carry the name of the Christian whites who were did not want him and his business to go anywhere.
While it's a bit sad, it paid off. Determination and ingenuity. They overcame that obstacle. It's a good story for those to reflect on. A story of passion, ambition and success.
Well history has shown that when the whites oppressed the Indians even in changing their names they or my ancestors got a stronger push to Excell under any form of oppression,in schools ran by the Canadian missionaries they use to tell the indentured slaves that their must change to English so they the missionaries can pronounces the slaves name in English and the missionaries were the ones who use to choose the name for them .Someone can rub you of your true name and identity but can they rub you of your knowledge and will to be come great ? He in his wisdom did the right thing ,you want me to change my name OK no problem, just try and stop me from my God given goals .
@@VashtiPersad-w1r "God-given goals" is a White Christian concept. Your karmic blessings would the concept of your ancestors. And yes we have been robbed of knowledge and replaced it with belief.
I remember me and my school friend, picking up Carib beer bottles in the savanna near where I lived. And selling them at the rum shop/ parlor just to buy a Solo banana or Cream Soda. I've been abroad for some time now. But can still find plastic bottle Solo banana at west Indian stores. Those were our good ole days. Wish I was young again.
He was a Muslim he worked for my grandfather washing soda botes my grandpa had the first registered spice company a ND first to bottle soda in Trinidad 40s because my grandpa had a Muslim name the British denied refused to give him the bottling rights nZmudeen changed his name to Joseph Charles and hot the rights. This is out right lies not true they stole it my grandpa could not read or write

wrong info . vernon charles father started solo . he had to change his hindu surname to be taken seriously
@@calisthenicsmadness1 bro d price of everything going up nps but y do the product differ in quality the reason fir the uprise in cost is to balance the same product ent stupes
Joseph Charles has committed one of the worse genocide in history his drink has caused one of the most deadliest chronic dease in Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹 with the highest sugar content and it's addictiveness we have lost a lot of lives due to the consumption of his drink mainly diabetes and high blood pressure
Don't try that! It is up to the individual to decide how much they want to consume. The soft drinks can actually bring up a person's sugar level that is too low as well. It's always a choice.
@@mac1932 So you are saying that white people's soft drinks or soda should be medication for people with low blood sugar rather than a drink that is dangerous to blood sugar in general?
