@@petercrosland5502 No. Joseph Haydn’s Te Deum in C major was composed between 1798 and 1800 for the Empress Marie Therese (1772-1807), the second wife of her cousin Emperor Francis II (her mother Maria Karolina and his father, Emperor Leopold II, were siblings) - more than seven years before the dead of the Empress. Nevertheless this Te Deum was not dedicatetd to Marie Therese, and there exists no commission of the imperial court to compose it. The only link to Marie Therese are two letters of Haydn's friend an biographer Georg August Griesinger to the Leipzig publishers Breitkopf & Härtel, where he mentioned, that Haydn made it for the Empress.
