joseph is proof that while smart hamon users can create incredibly powerful techniques and abilities, creative hamon users can straight up break the rules of physics
mc bad robot voice Never an opportunity to use it again. It deflects small projectiles like bullets, but the Pillar Men don’t use bullets. The only one who does is Wamuu who uses a crossbow and cannonball, but a cannonball is way bigger than a bullet. Besides, using it would mean ripping off a clump of his hair, which he would never do that to his manly locks.
@@megasean3000 well in part 3 he has hermit purple to make a barrier whenever he wanted, and i know he stoped training hamon BUT when he did the barrier in the nazi's base he NEVER trained hamon before. Sooo.... araki .....
@Napsta thats not what i wanted to say, what i whanted to say is that he has hamon and hermit purple in S.C, and whit those 2 he could make the hamon barrier any time he wanted, against dio's knife will have save him. Lot of people says that he cannot do it because he left training before the crusaders arc, but when he make the barrier in the nazi's base he NEVER trained his hamon before and he make the damn barrier. So theres no difference in make a damn hamon barrier whit you stand that conducts hamon even if you left training, to make a hamon barrier with nazi hair when you never trained before. So araki forgot.
@@smiith5 I mean, given spin can be used by pretty much anybody without preparation, Johnny could've taught his son to use it before he died in 1902 but no
@@pollortie3028 Hope you guys don't mind if I make a less obnoxious and overused version of what the other annoying morons here are saying. You missed the joke you absolute imbecile. You utter moron. You king of the fools.
my name He also visibly aged because Hamon can only do so much. Remember Straits and Tonpetty were both around Old Joseph’s age of 70, and they looked, well, old, even after decades of Hamon training to keep them youthful.
Id love to see a spin off set between parts 2 and 3 that follows Joseph and avdol and it explores hamon-stand combos more. Hamons versatility was so interesting
Yeah Joseph deserved more attention in Stardust Crusaders, just like Jotaro was a big support character in Diamond Is Unbreakable, Araki could have focused Hammond in tricks and unexpected moves, it would be still relevant, but you cant change mangas.
@@emi7737 Lol the Owner of Lonely heart was made by yes which is the same band who created Roundabout and that music was popular in the 80s. Welcome to the world wasn't even an actual "song" video, its a soundtrack that inspires the beat.
0:19 I like how this is possibly the first example of Hamon concentrated through your fingertips being more powerful than regular Hamon, cause I doubt a normal Hamon user could do something like this consistently
What’s so cool about Joseph in part 2 is that, when you look back on him with the knowledge that he *already* had Hermit Purple as a young man, so many of his miraculous victories are easily attributable to his stand powers. Joseph has supernaturally powerful Hamon for somebody who’s never even trained with it? Well, he has HP, the stand which intrinsically interacts with Hamon. Joseph can predict his opponents exact words and make stupendously specific observations in combat? Hermit Purple enhances the clairvoyant attributes of Hamon by extending out an “information gathering field” from which he has absolute control over knowledge on the battlefield. Why doesn’t Joseph ever do anything nearly as impressive as an old man? He hasn’t trained with his Hamon for like 50+ years. By the time his stand visually manifested and he became aware of it from the Joestar curse, his Hamon was so much weaker that HP went from a thick cord of vine that wrapped around his whole body to a few loose strands that act as little more than a Hamon Wire and a mild information-gathering ability
@@dudneunshf7f there is written evidence to the contrary directly from Araki, who has clarified that Joseph naturally developed Hermit Purple (saying if the Crusaders were to see Joseph as a young man, they’d see Hermit Purple coiled thickly around his whole body), but it only visually* manifested to him once Jonathan’s body got the arrow stab
@@Madheim777 it’s rather vague whether Hermit Purple is a stand that any Hamon User can develop or if it just happened to have been a genetically inherited stand that only Joseph and Jonathan had. I feel like if it was available to Hamon users in general, then characters who were far more proficient with Hamon in general should’ve been far more adept in combat, to Young Joseph levels
Hamon/Ripple has got to be one of my favorite powers in anime. Versatile enough to do all crazy things, but with enough limitation to be defeated by even non-powered opponents. Can't take a breath because you're being choked out? Blood flow interrupted or slowed, due to serious injury? Then you got no hamon. That's why Joseph is one of my favorite protagonists; his ingenuity not just in its use but when he DOESN'T have it.
Part 2 was the best part. I'm now in part 3 and it's literally between meh and okay, less comedy, no "You will say this", and they did hamon dirty. Joseph could just have walked on water to save Anne from the shark but no, he chose to watch making drama face and reaction 😂
To be honest it would be interesting seeing Stands fight against Hamon. We could've had a fight where Joseph fights Dio with Hermit Purple + Hamon but Dio already knew what he was doing, kind of unfortunate.
If dio stopped time, he ain't gonna get that hair up before the knives. That being said, the idea that hamon isn't useful on non vampires is just silly given the multiple examples of it doing exactly that we see in parts 1 and 2.
