The 7 year history of Josh and Donna set to the score of Love Actually. Its long but there were too many uncuttable scenes. None of this belongs to me, all is NBC.
seriously the best couple on tv. how many shows have two people who love each other so much and yet did not have an actual relationship till....6 damn seasons later!! arguably this relationship was something all west wing fans wanted FOR A VERY VERY VERY LONG TIME. and im glad i stuck with the show cause my prayers were answered:) awesome music video!
@@barbarawalsh2875 I thought so too, but then I realized that I think he wouldn't have been allowed to because of their White House employee "gifting rules" that they mention in other episodes.
It has literally been hailed as one of the greatest television shows ever made. and for all of those reasons TOGETHER. UNIQUE!! Talent of writing, creativity, acting, Chemistry, you name it.
Aaron thank you. PLEASE, consider what you did with WEST WING, and NEWSROOM, and direct your efforts yo American Education. May I humbly suggest a moderately large, Midwestern city's public schoolboard. Doesn't have to be a multi-year extravaganza. Mini-series. Poignant. Evocative. Endearing. Powerful. American. Clarion call. Celebrate the Good. Challenge what needs change. From an American Teacher battered by "the system" and in retirement, am afraid. Again, be the American Hero you most definitely are . We need you .
Fear. He had such a strong bond with Donna that he feared losing that if he tried to move beyond friendship. Ultimately Donna is the stronger half of this relationship and Josh for all his bravado and apparent self-confidence simply cannot cope without her. It shows up most strongly when she's hurt in Gaza and again when he's campaigning with Matt Santos and Donna works for Bob Russell. His pride gets in the way for a while too. Donna shows not just her strength but her incredible compassion and intelligence by not holding that against him because she sees how vulnerable he truly is behind the facade. It's a brilliantly written and paced TV romance, still easily the best I've ever seen. Both Actors play it perfectly as well.
I think the point was it didn’t. He knew pretty much from the start. But the risk of him screwing up and the work relation going up in flames held him back.
I always assumed that he knew he was attracted to Donna from the start but he was so consumed trying to do the right thing by Leo, the President and bizarrely even by Donna, that he didn't take the risk. It's no mistake that it wasn't until they both left the White House to get together. And why Josh struggled to work out what Donna could do in the new administration - he didn't want to be every stereotype of a sleazy boss.
THIS kind of Interplay, THIS kind of Connection, THIS kind of Caring, THIS kind of Love is what do many seek but few experience. Aaron, may it be YOURS .
I'm a SOLID Wingnut, & loved the evolution of this relationship throughout the years. BRILLIANT job putting this video together. I'm a die-hard romantic, & this made me tear up more then once. Nicely done.
How do they get into our souls, secret wishes and desires, you've captured them all in this amazing clip of Josh & Donna, if only they were real. Lovingly done and wow what a production. Made me cry; from an old man (76) who is still in love thank you; thank you; thank you, and the music, there is nothing to say. Bring back the West Wing. Clive & Pamela mainwaring S/W France
You could always tell, even before they hooked up, that he had feelings for her just by the way he looked at her. Like...if anything happened to her, that he wouldn't know what to do. He was completely and utterly in love for such a very long time, he was just afraid to take the next step for fear of being rejected.
I agree and that rejection would have been on a scale equal to his sense of loss over his fathers and grandfathers deaths. He simply didn't feel capable of surviving that.
I love the bit at 1:27 when Josh says if Donna was in a an accident he wouldn't stop for a beer, to which Donna rteplies that she wouldn't stop for red lights!
What a truly lovely video. Josh and Donna were "the" couple before they ever became a couple. You have picked the best and most important moments and set them to a great score. Job well done. (I know it's been said a billion times, but is there ANY line better than "red lights"?)
The BEST Donna and Josh video, thank you! I loved every minute. 💙 And set to the music from one of my very favorite movies, Love Actually. I watch it every year, usually at Christmas time! If you are familiar with it and haven't seen the director's cut with Richard Curtis and all the deleted scenes, please give it a watch, I think you will love it. ☺
I echo what vegabondstu said. West Wing is my all time fav series, Love Actually my all time fav film, so thanks very much indeed for putting the two together so beautifully.
No kidding..I rolled my eyes when i saw what this was. Because I figured it couldn't do the couple justice...but it really was amazing. Man I love them so much, and you told the story well. Thank you
Love Donna as the ultimate multi-tasker at 6:32, aligning her hips with Josh, inhaling his lower lip and still finding her way to closing that elusive door. Well done!
Wonderfully done, i love West Wing SOOOOO MUCH. Let’s all take a moment to appreciate one of the best original scores ever made… and NOT MADE by one of the heavy hitters in hollywood (a la Zimmer, Newman, Horner, etc). Craig Armstrong’s Love Actually score is simply wonderful!
What can I say? This is absolutely brilliant. Hands down the best Josh/Donna video out there. I love that you didnt drown out their script with a song/music. I love that you left all that great banter between them in the video - after all that was one of the best things in the Josh/Donna relationship. If you have any more/know of any other videos about Josh/Donna that are in this format let me know! I couldnt rate this video any higher!
Such a lovely tribute! I never watched the west wing when it was on only discovered it on Netflix a few months ago and binge watched all 7 seasons. I couldn’t image watching all those seasons and being annoyed try didn’t get together til the end.
Tiffany Bevis But that was the whole idea, keep teasing their get together, a mild distraction from the dialogue, bring it together on the campaign,.... perfect. Late, ... but perfect.
jesus, that was perfect. Damn I have been waiting 7 years for that, so good to see it finally and so amazingly summed up. Cheers, really. An amazing video.
You almost expect Don LaFontaine's voice to come on and announce a continuation of one of the greatest love stories. Great editing and music to accompany the vid! I swear it's a trailer for a movie about Josh and Donna and their life together after the WH. Job well done!
My favourite show, my favourite couple, and my favourite score. And the sound is edited well, and its truly a very understated, classy edit. Really very well done.
Excellent job! When Donna left Josh to work for that evil Bob, I was heartbroken...is it over? Amazingly, she came back as a new woman with the same promise: if you were in an accident, I will not stop for red lights. Thanks!
Nice editing job and good choice of music! That's a hard story to tell in less than 10 minutes. I would have given the scene where the go away together more time, but that is NOT a criticism.
I feel like such a sap. This video gives me the warm fuzzys. I was so in love with Donna. You can't not love her. I'm so glad Josh chose her instead of Amy. "If you were in a car accident I wouldn't stop for red lights."
I had mixed feelings about the whole Josh & Donna romance, especially since it only fully materialized in non-Sorkin episodes. Although, I have to admit, this video by far outshines all other Josh & Donna videos on youtube.
Technosquid sorkin I think said he based the banter of josh and Donna on him and his long time secretary and it wasn’t a romantic relationship and he is married but the actors had such chemistry together he years later said he regrets not doing for it while he was running the show.
@Emily1993yesh she was applying for a job to work for him again but he said he couldn't hire her because of the things she said about Santos in the past. It was his way of saying he wasn't getting back at her because she left him before. Although, personally, i think it could have been a bit of both. I hope that makes sense now....I does in my head! Lol
Thanks for this video. I have an Instagram fan account about the West Wing called @thewestwing_tvshow so being a pretty huge fan I really enjoy watching this 👏🏻❤️ Also Jonna is like my fav tv couple ever. There’s no word to describe how much I love them 😭❤️
They think they're being creative. Little do they know we can't hear what the actors are saying screw the music I wanna hear the actors&and the meaning of the scene.
+laurezz24 I never EVER get tired of watching this video. Whenever I feel a bit down or tired at the end of a long day I put this on for a guaranteed smile and feel-good filled few minutes. Thank you. :)
+MrPeterpiper1969 I have just watched this video by accident and almost balled my eyes out. We men can be so stupid at times. Even I new/hoped they should be together from the day one!
"I'm just saying if you were in an accident, I wouldn't stop for a beer." "If you were in an accident, I wouldn't stop for ....." Stop for a what? Couldn't hear it!
The looks Josh gives to Donna from 2:35-3:10 are so obviously love, not just mere concern and it almost annoys me they didn't get together right after the whole Gaza thing happened. I mean, when they hooked up it was hot, but still...
+Tiffany Wood Tiffany Laurrez explains in her description that the music is from a film called Love Actually. If you haven't seen it I highly recommend it to you. It's beautifully written, shot and acted and has a very special charm that is lacking in far too many supposedly romantic movies. Hope that helps a little.
