Extremely well spoken and succinct. I'm a missionary is Asia and, although I have been a southern baptist for most of my life, I could not put into words why I was so ill-at-east with much of what was coming from SBC leadership .I thought maybe the culture was changing and I'm just out of the loop. And then when the Ed Litton plagiarism video cropped up (along with JD Greear's use of Paul Tripp's mission story as his own) , I became very grateful we moved here independently to serve. This video helped clarify my thoughts and was a blessing to me. Thank you, Pastor Buice.

Nikki, you are not a Christian. The SBC is not Christian and all the people you mentioned are not Christians. You all believe false gospels. You are wasting your time as a missionary. You believe a false gospel
@Mark-qd6ub
@Mark-qd6ub 2 года назад
Nikki, The true gospel is the good news of the Person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ. In other words, it is concerning who Christ is and what He did to save His elect only. The gospel includes the how and why, which can only be seen by faith. It is a message that declares how the eternal Son of God came down, took on a body of sinless flesh (John 1:14) as He was born of a virgin (Mat 1:23). He was both God and man in one Person. He was born under the Law to keep and fulfill it (Mat 5:18, Gal 4:4). He did that, not for Himself, but for all those He represented because they could not keep it themselves. The word of God calls these people the elect or His sheep, among several other names. His obedient life also included the part of dying. He took on the sin of His people as both a Substitute and Representative of those people. The Bible said He was "made to be sin" (II Cor 5:21) and the way that was done is by God imputing (legally reckoned or charged to the account of) sin to Christ. That means all the sin of all those people God chose was "laid on Him" (Isaiah 53:6). This sin was legally transferred to His account and He then owned it in such a way to be guilty of it all. God the Father poured out His wrath and hatred toward sin on His Son and had pleasure (Isaiah 53:10) in doing so, in that, He was completely satisfied in Christ as a Sacrifice that met all the demands of His strict Law and inflexible justice. Christ finished the work of paying the penalty of the Law and then said " It is finished" (John 19:30). He secured salvation for all God’s chosen people that would even be born. His resurrection is evidence of the acceptance of His sacrifice to the Father. The combined work of His obedience to the Law and His obedience unto death on the cross was considered establishing righteousness. This is what one of the Old Testament prophets prophesied as "bringing in an everlasting righteousness" (Daniel 9:24) as Christ died effectually and exclusively for those chosen of God before the world began (Eph 1:4). This righteousness is what God imputes to His people in the context of giving the life to believe in Christ. This puts them in a state called "Justification" and as a result they are eternally secure, in Christ. This is the gospel (Rom 1:16-17). All this takes place in such a way to show God as both a God of justice and a Savior. This is how grace reigns through righteousness (Rom 5:21)

It is amazing how SBC preachers are just now recognizing things about the SBC that has been the case a very long time. I was raised in an SBC Church and my family left as a child because of these very same issues. And now I do not Pastor a Church that is a SBC. They have had problems with false doctrine in church plants for a long time. And they have had an issue with their seminaries and schools for a long time. Al Mohler turned around Southern Seminary doctrinally, at one time, just to fall into the trap of CRT and Social Justice. So, this problem has existed for a long, long time.
@toddstevens9667
@toddstevens9667 2 года назад
I’m not arguing or disagreeing, just asking a question. What do you mean about Al Mohler falling into the trap of CRT and Social Justice? He’s very clear about his opposition to these things. But do you mean that CRT and social justice have invaded the teaching at Southern Seminary? I read some articles that insist that some teachers certainly do teach these things there, but others that say that such accusations are highly overblown. I’m just curious if you know for certain or even if you have the names of certain teachers that I can google to show these anti-Christian biases. CRT and Social Justice are just as bad as theological liberalism and really amount to the same thing. Obviously, if these ideas are being taught there, Al Mohler is ultimately responsible for allowing it.
@toddstevens9667
@toddstevens9667 2 года назад
@J L Clearly Al Mohler does more than disavow CRT. He’s rather strident in his attacks against it (well, as strident as he gets, lol). But that doesn’t mean that he’s rooted out all the professors at Southern who teach from the worldview. It’s easy, of course, to just accuse him of being complicit. And I’m not denying that he might very well be complicit. He is quite a political creature. That much is very obvious. I was just curious if there was specific evidence of his involvement with CRT (like a speech or sermon in which he specifically reasons from CRT’s premises). Or if maybe there was a body of work from Southern professors that I could point to and prove the connection. But honestly, I don’t really have a specific axe to grind with the SBC. I left that denomination years ago because of the theological liberalism that just dripped from its very pores. It’s just that I recently read two commentaries by Al Mohler that were quite good: one on the first 12 chapters of Acts and one on the book of Hebrews. But since he’s in charge of the flagship seminary for the SBC (and has been for years at this point), he pretty much has to take some significant credit for the sorry state of affairs in that denomination. So he definitely has to be, at least to some extent, part of the problem. And this CRT heresy must be rooted out of the church. Anyway, thanks for the kind response.
@toddstevens9667
@toddstevens9667 2 года назад
@J L I’ll watch it. And thanks so much. And you’re right, he never calls names and never calls for repentance. I hadn’t really thought about that. His association with Moore is shameful. Thanks for the reference. I’ll certainly watch it. And I’ve seen some videos of his where he seems ambiguous on the race issue. But the SBC does have issues with race. I remember SBC churches even in my lifetime that refused to accept black members. That’s pretty shameful in itself. But, as Voddie Baucham points out, the answer isn’t CRT, but the Bible. But yeah, I see the point on Mohler. He’s so political he wants to legitimately argue on both sides of the issue. Once again, thanks a lot. I think you’ve convinced me.

She looked at me confused, wanting to know if I'm baptist, presbyterian, etc. And I didn't know how to explain, and said, "I'm just a Christian. A Biblical Christian." Lol. I was recently saved, and one of the hardest parts about being a Christian is going to church. Because none of them are churches. Reading the book of Acts breaks my heart, because no one serves Christ like that. Reading the sermon on the mount breaks my heart, because no one follows Christ like that. Been praying God might bring together some of His scattered flock, so we can get away from all this stuff and focus back on the One who saved us. 🙏✝️❤️

Get out of there 👍 Woman pastors should have been a clue to leave.Colossians 3:1-17 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. In my lifetime, I’ve attended baptist services scores of times and almost always felt “at home” enough to participate. I appreciate baptists’ emphasis on justification and baptism (immersion) of believers. I’ve never been a voting member of a baptist congregation but I hope my observations might be of some help to people involved in this discussion. I consider the biblical usage of the word “church” to fall in two categories: 1: as a reference to everyone worldwide who are learning to trust the Messiah and 2: when identified as the church in a certain place, as a reference to those same people in a given location (city, town or village). In ancient Israel, the church (identified in the King James translation as “assembly” or “congregation”) consisted of people with faith in the Messiah but one of the forms of apostasy that befell ancient Israel was the adoption of the doctrine that the organization of the church WAS the church. Farmers, fishermen and tradesmen were taught to accept the decisions and Bible interpretations of the “chief priests and rabbis” or the Sanhedrien as the voice of God to the people - which is why there was so little opposition to the decision to ask Pilate to crucify Jesus. After Jesus returned to heaven, a similar apostasy occurred again. Within a few centuries, the vast majority of people in western Europe thought of “the Church” (usually capitalized), not as the believers themselves but as an organization based in Rome. This time, the apostasy was even deeper because a much lower percentage of the people were literate. Hierarchy, creedalism and dogmatism can, of course, exist even within a local congregation. (There are ways to mitigate this tendency.) The word, “denomination”, means having a name - and there is nothing “wrong” with “associations” or “connections” or “conventions” of two or more local congregations. On the other hand, when the officers of such an association of local congregations begin to think of themselves as having more spiritual authority than the laity do, the tendency toward hierarchy, creedalism and dogmatism almost always follows. The Southern Baptist Convention has, so far, managed to avoid one of the mistakes that other associations have made. When the name of an organization includes the word “Church”, that tendency is almost always accelerated.

If you teach Pre Tribulation rapture, nope. And I don't know enough about 7th Day Adventist. And latter day saints are Mormon if I'm correct, so nope. But as more are waking up, the knowledge is increasing, maybe I'll find my place in this little town.

@@HearGodsWord that's not what The Bible says. Most churches today practice Paganism desguised as Christianity. Sunday Worship, Christmas and Easter are all purely Pagan traditions. And Satan's lie if a Pre Tribulation rapture, when Yeshua never said that. I follow what God has shown me. The Luciferian NWO controls the world, and total submission is close. Myself and tens of thousands warned about this panic seen today, and what it's goal was, "The Cure". It wasn't their first attempt. Soon, they will remove cash, entering public spaces without their ID. People are finally realizing the lies, but it's too late. Time is a few years away now.

@@HearGodsWord yes they should. But it says not to follow the ways of Molech also. Like I said, most churches today are Pagan, following the way of Molech. So, if people calling themselves Christians, gather, and honor Satan, that's better than being alone following Yeshua? Interesting theory. I don't think Yeshua would agree.

I don't believe the denominational model of the SBC is biblical at all. It just seems like the first recorded churches of the NT were too busy facing brutal and horrific persecution under Roman emperors, to congregate together and form an "umbrella association" of "likeminded churches." That probably was also the case for churches centuries later who were facing brutal and horrific persecution under Roman popes. The SBC was pro-choice in the 1970s. That's all you need to know in these recent decades, after other serious problems, to come out of the SBC this whorish religion, touch no unclean thing, and be ye separate.

Because of how quickly many “churches” turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths (2 Tim 4:4). It’s not even a matter of separating from one another. It’s a matter of faithful pastors holding fast to the Word.

Oy! I think you may be onto something. There are all kinds of movements going on right now!! We've got a new "reformed"/Calvinism movement coming at us, along with a new "Great Awakening" movement, the Hebrew Roots movement, the prosperity movement, the hyper grace movement, and all kinds of other movements... It's hard because some of us just want to talk about Jesus with other people who love Jesus... But all anyone ever talks about is politics, theology, social agendas, elitist "exposure", and other worldly drama. It's scary and heartbreaking how many people claim the name of Christ, yet give you a blank stare whenever you talk about Him-- and move onto a different topic of conversation. The good news is, I personally think this means we are getting much closer to His return. God is long-suffering... But it seems to me the falling away has already happened. I'm not a prophet, so don't quote me on that haha. But what else could it be?? 🤷

Please know my dear Brother, Sister and dear neighbor and friend, I did not quote scripture, only referanced it so that those who are new in the faith can search the scripture on their own. We must all search and read the scripture for ourselves to know and speak the oricals of God. (1 Peter 4:11 KJV) Many will profess his name, but he will deny you, for we are workers of iniquity. (Matthew 7:23 KJV) The bible warns us, and tells us of these things. Be careful who you give your ears to in this hour people. (Mark 4:24 KJV) Why do so many get deceived about the church? We, our bodies are the temple and is what makes the church of God, not some building made by the hands of man. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 / Acts 17:24 KJV) Why does a so called building known as a church have to be associated with a denomination/name when the church of God truly has no name? Why do we say let's go to church when our body is already the church? (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 / 2 Corinthians 5:1-10 KJV) Without the body, how can the Spirt dwell within us, unless we be dead and our Spirit be one with the Lord, Jesus Christ? Why do we believe not, that Jesus is God, but yet believe in the term trinity, when there is no such term in scripture as trinity? Why do we search for truth from man and his many pulpits, but yet God already left us the best platform man could ever have and that is his Word. Who is the Son of God, (JESUS), who was made flesh, and born of the Spirt, and in Christ body dwelt the fulness of the Godhead bodily, and (JESUS) who (IS GOD) and these three are one. (Colossians 2:9 / 1 John 5:7-9 KJV ) When we die, we will stand before Jesus Christ who is God, and was God in the flesh. (John 1:1 / John 1:14-23 KJV) Turn from man and all his carnality ways, and turn to the real knowledge of the truth, that being the Holy Scripture. (2 Timothy 3:7 KJV) Do not be deceived and read any other book, for the true authentic Word of God comes from the King James Version. All other translations are a perversion of God's true Word by adding, taking away and altering the very true Word of God. Such revised translations come from theologians and seminary schools that are indoctrinated by man's ideas and his own interpretation not that of the Lord Jesus Christ in Spirit and in Truth. (Matthew 24:4 / Ephesians 5:6 / 2 Theselonian 2:3-4 KJV) May the year 2022 be the beginning to where one finds the truth, and may it be a blessing onto you as long as you seek the truth, obey Jesus Word, recognizes sin, repent and stay from sin as scripture requires us to do. One who repents, but yet continues in sin, will lose his or her salvation. As Jesus Christ says, when one goes on sinning wilfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sin. (Hebrews 10:26-31 KJV) Come out of the world people as Jesus calls us to do, (John 15:19 / 2 Corinthians 6:17 1 Corinthians 5:10 KJV) and open your Bible for yourself. Experience the Gospel also known as the Good News (Proverbs 25:25 KJV) with an all Mighty, all living God (Genesis 17:1 / Revelation 11:7 / Hebrews 10:31 KJV) and come to the knowledge of the truth. Will you do that? I pray you do. God be with us. AMEN.

I am going to challenge your interpretation of Hebrews 10:26-31. The Epistle to the Hebrews was written challenging them that all the past Mosaic law regarding sacrifices for atonement of sin has now been Fulfilled in Christ’s complete, total, perfect, finished work on his Cross of Cavalry! The “Willfully Sin” mentioned here is that after hearing the Gospel, you cannot willingly go back to the Old Covenant, which was the Mosaic law, and have remission of sins You must continue on believing in Christ.
