this is truly the greatest rendition ever. Simple and straight, yet rich, clear, powerful, majestic and simply BEAUTIFUL. Pitch perfect! You can clearly hear both the very high and very low notes. Outstanding!

Yeah, nothing makes ticks me off like Singers coming in and messing up the song. Just sing it like you're proud to be an American. Josh does it beautifully.
I've always said Christina Aguilera and Josh Groban are a few of the singers that really sing, but I just saw a video of Christina singing the national anthem; she can't be compared to Josh's performance; his voice is amazingly perfect. The anthem it's really hard to sing, not even Beyonce can reach to his level.
What more can be said about his voice at this stage in his carreer? I don't care if it was pre-recorded for the performance, or if there are millions of people out there who sing it better....It does not change the high quality of this performance.
Absolutely stunning! I think this version, this time, this way was his best ever attempt! He made big burly straight men cry! It takes a lot of talent and a lot of voice to do that! You go boy!
The best national anthem performance I'd ever seen. This was the game following the 9/11 attacks so I'm sure emotions were running high too. Agree with cowmoocher - love the pack.
@Sakuyamon1 I have heard many of Grobans songs and while I agree He puts emphases on certain notes and such, he keeps it VERY simple, the way it's supposed to be. All I was saying was he didn't try to make the song sound his own. (I.e Beyonce)
flawless...I love how he doesn't try to put his 'spin' on it. People who try to put their own spin on the National Anthem end up messing it up. It's a very simple song meant to be kept simple...and Groban delivers.

Josh Groban is 100% all-American! He sings in Italian on some of his albums, but haven't you ever looked at an interview with him here on RU-vid? Haven't you done the simplest wikipedia search?
i hate when people tamper with the rhythm to the Star Spangled Banner... Josh started out pretty rough in the beginning but he ROCKED it after about 1:03. I love his upper chest voice.
Give it time to load all the way. Press Pause before it starts and wait until the faint grey line goes at least most of the way to the end of the clip, then press Play again. It shouldn't pause when you do that. :)
