My opinion was that Lee was looking at Groban for guidance. Groban did the same thing when he first started, esp. when he first started singing with Celine. Celine was guiding Groban if you watch close during the early days.
I thought Lee was looking to Josh for encouragement and Josh was more than happy to give it. I just love him, he always seems so genuine. Just once I would like to see him in person!
I was a Josh Groban fan at the time this went out. I saw him live in Glasgow about 3 days later & became an out & out Grobanite. The guy is a wonderful singer and a fantasic person. I saw Craig & Keith in Josheph in Edinburgh. Keith has a fantasic stage presence, he really made the show for me.
Josh picked well; Andrew Lloyd Weber thinks so, too, as you can see by his approving looks. Both guys did a great job. Lee has a great career ahead of him. Just like Josh.
If Josh Groban had an eye poked out, a missing arm, and was confined to a wheelchair (doomed to iive the rest of his now-short life due to some crazy plague), I'd choose him all day, every night, all weekend long over ANY singer -- dead or alive -- on this planet.
And I have to clarify- I LOVE Andrew Lloyd Webber!!! I meant no disrespect by my previous comment. The man is a musical genius, plain and simple. Best play I ever saw was Donny Osmond in Joseph-and I've seen a lot-bought the tix 10 min before the show, in front of the Chicago Theatre-it is forever one of the most incredible things I have seen. (It was Donny's b-day, and someone in the audience shouted it out-Donny improved with the best of them!) But the MUSIC in that show-there are no words!
@IevaSk You've also got to consider that with such a meaningful ballad, and one that requires exact sync, they would have to be able to signal each other...

I completely agree. That reaction could've been bad for their future in the industry too. I highly doubt that Lee would've reacted like that as he was used to how the industry works.

@flibberdajibbet Is there any reason two men shouldn't sing a love song to each other? And here, they just sung it *together*, but it would have seemed weird if they both appeared totally detached imo.
Check out the look in both their eyes at 6:25...it's pretty intense, the attraction is obvious. Good for them. If you can find love in this world, then... go for it! (The comment about them being twins is pretty dead-on, and kind of weird, given my above comment.) The funniest thing, however, is the look on Andrew Lloyd Webber's face at 6:45--he's like, OH YEAH I'm getting some of THAT!!! He is actually gnashing his jaw! ('Course I probably would, too, given these 2 guys... just sayin'...)
I thought they were great, but they way they were looking at each other I thought they might kiss at the end of that song... Was I the only one that found it strange that he wouldn't stop staring?
i think Lee Mead sang BETTER! - plus, he's a hottie!! - Josh, on the other hand, always sounds like he's trying too hard...plus, what's up with his *hair*? - go to the barber, dude...yer gettin' too old for that 'do.
This isn't a beauty contest... What's wrong with Josh's hair? He had curly hair which isn't even long, just big. He really has a beautiful hair, since beauty is só important to you...
