(If you like, please subscribe!) Josh Groban performs the song "The Great Comet of 1812" from the Broadway hit "Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812" at the Ars Nova benefit gala event on 12/5/2016.
One of my most favourite moments in a musical of all time. I love watching the pianist conduct while he plays. But I wish we could see the accordionist because I think that’s what really gives the piece such emotional heft.
Have seen Josh and the Company perform this on Broadway 5 times and counting! It's the final song and is a beautiful, quiet and touching finish to the show. Bravo.
This is such an amazing musical! I’m so thankful I could get my daughter up to NYC with her friend and family to see it right before it closed. I wish I had seen it... I thankfully have the cast recording and I eagerly await my opportunity to see this one of many of Dave’s great opuses (or opi or opera, if you prefer). My daughter, her friend and I will be seeing Preludes next week. Dave Malloy is brilliant, decades ahead of his time! We’re also eagerly watching as Dave’s Moby Dick is taking shape.
