I will make a controversial comment and say Shoba Narayan is my best and favorite Natasha I have ever seen, and I've seen this musical10 times. She has a delicate and fragile youth & beauty, & angel's voice, that I think is perfect. And when she is a gypsy playing the violin, on the other days when she's not Natasha,, I can't take my eyes off her, she is amazing!
I went to broadway in the boros yesterday in queens and when that lady stepped in front at 3:41 I can only imagine how annoyed everyone behind her was because everyone did that to me yesterday. Its infuriating
I'm really gonna miss phillipa as natasha. i feel like no one can do that role justice the way phillipa can, its like the role was custom made for her.
This doesn't represent most of the actual Broadway cast. So they're being supported by understudies, which is typical for these kinds of performances. Look up who is actually in the cast on the website. and I bet most of them were in one of the previous productions.. I've never seen any other version of Great Comet but Denee sings like an an angel. Lucas still plays Anatole. Josh Groban is perfect for Pierre.
I cried a bit when the woman playing marya messed up the lyrics..... considering this is a professional broadway cast but, hey, we're all human right? Of course this isn't a real performance sorry idk am I being too critical?
and I'm not saying its bad, honestly I think I love the understudies as much as or even more than I love the original cast...ppl in the comments are just saying that this cast (thinking its the original Broadway cast) is really bad and they cant believe they took the show to Broadway...so I'm just letting y'all know that its not the obc 😊
Nneoma Uche Depends.... I personally prefer Philippa just because she portrays a more fierce Natasha, which is also closer to the book character. I like Denée as well, even thought she is a more "young" and "inexperienced" Natasha.
Nneoma Uche it depends Pippa's voice is more mature and Denée's is more young and alive. I guess Denée would be a better singer for Natasha's role cuz Natasha is young.. eheh see what I did there??
1) Dave Malloy is a musical genius but no singer. 2) What's up with Anatole? I thought Lucas Steele played Anatole from the very beginning of the production.
